Checkers

If I could give it negative 5 stars, I would. Granted it’s nearly 2am on a Tuesday night… this was not a destination for 5 star food and service, but at least have some courtesy. The window was flung open at me and the greeting was «What’s up?!» in a hasty manner. I was calm and courteous as is my nature usually. I stated my food order kindly with please and thank you. The window was slammed in my face. A few seconds later, the window was flung open and my Sprite slammed on the counter. I said thank you and again the window was slammed shut with not a single word. I thought maybe the guy was having a bad night, but saw him and his coworkers laughing and joking around so he seemed to be in a good mood. Then the window was flung open again and my bag was set on the counter. I again said thanks and before I could even get the words out of my mouth, the window was shut again. Either I’m not welcome here or my business is not appreciated… or both. I get that this is a fast food joint and the time is 2am, but should that mean that even a simple please/​thank you or even a single word should be used by the employees that work this shift? It’s not even that this was BAD customer service. This was NO customer service. It was like an automated 1 – 800 number but even more rude because it was in person.

It is impossible to call any Checkers spectacular but hey, at Checkers when you order a $ 3 sandwich you get a $ 3 sandwich. In contrast you could go to a convenience store and get a microwaved $ 1 sandwich that costs $ 3.
This Checkers is usually fast, usually reasonably friendly, and it’s open something like 19 hours a day.

This is consistently the worst Checkers. They got my order completely wrong. I ordered bacon cheeses fries and two cheese burgers, what I got was two chicken sandwiches and plain fries that were dumped upside down in the bag. I drove back to get my correct order, this time making sure to check the bag before leaving the window, and they forgot the bacon cheese fries again. Out of the 4 employees standing by the window, including the manger, it took a gentleman on the other side of the kitchen to get them. No apology and the wait time for each visit was 15 minutes at the drive thru window. I got home finally and the bacon cheese fries were doused in mostly ketchup, barely any cheese, and one small slice of bacon. I give up with them. Rude and can’t read.

Very HOT fresh fries! Banana milk shake was yummy. It’s fast food but they have all the key factors down: quick friendly accurate service!

I have had all bad experiences at this location. The only reason I ever go is because they are open until 5am. After this last experience, I do not think I will be back anytime soon.
We ordered our food and we were told with attitude «it will be at least 14 minutes». We told her that was fine and that we would wait. She then sent us over to wait in the parking lot for our food (which took about 20 – 25 minutes). When we arrived home and opened our food we realized that there was no bacon on our baconzillas. Instead they had nasty, hard and old fake bacon bits on the sandwiches (see picture). These sandwiches were disgusting and inedible with the fake bacon bits. I couldn’t even remove them since they were seeped into the cheese. Dinner went into the trash. Do not go here. If you must have Checkers; drive a little farther north on 19 to the one south of 38^th Ave N.
