I came here to see a play that was written by a friend of mine. The host was very accommodating and had homemade brownies, coffees, teas etc available during intermission. The venue was a great place for the play and the seating was much more comfortable than I have had at other similar events. I took some time before the show and during intermission to peruse the art and there were some really interesting pieces in their gallery. I am really glad that there is a space like this which allows local artists a venue to promote art, whether it be visual or performance art. An inexpensive outlet for our local artists creativity is always a good thing.

I came here to see a play tonight, CellMate Confessions. A friend of ours was performing and I wasn’t sure what to expect. The PLAY was amazing, great talent. The space? It’s nice. The art on the walls is pleasing to look at, they offer it at little to no cost to different types of artists, and that’s fantastic. I think every community needs this kind of space. There were 2 major detractors to the space though: Parking. If you park next to the building You WILLBETOWED. They do not own the space. So parking is either confusing or on the street –especially if you’re not from the area. And Risers are needed. I was in the 2nd to the back row. I’m nearly 6′ tall, but I still had to bob and weave to watch the people on the«stage» and by stage I mean the floor. So either make a stage or give risers to your people in chairs.

This fantastic little gallery, which is locally owned and operated, has a great space and a variety of interesting and creative art shows, performances, films and art/craft bazaars. Every show I’ve attended featured cool local art and a quirky mix of people attending, making it a great place to meet people and just hang out. The gallery is a wonderful showcase for local art, and a good stop for any art walk. In addition, their annual Holizaar is the perfect event for finding unique and unusual gifts — especially for the more creative people you know. Two thumbs up!

While visiting St. Petersburg I was referred to Studio@620 for their Radio Show: The WMNF Studio at 620 Radio Theatre Project. I felt as if I was sitting in the radio studio watching a radio show from 1941. They were preforming Lum & Abner and December 8th1941. The actors(even though they were supposed to be on a radio broadcast) were dressed like they were performing at that time. They were all costumed in the 40’s. I love this place; they had drinks, soft drinks, and little snacks. The staff were so warm and welcoming. This is a very inventive site that is a great place to visit while in St. Petersburg.

A jewel of St. Petersburg. The staff here really makes you feel«at home». We’ve had meetings there, attend movies there, seen plays there, danced there, seen vastly different levels of arts there, bought art there, had meals there… I could go on and on. If you haven’t already been there, get there.
