I give this place 3 stars cause they had exceptional service, same as food and atmosphere. My waitress Elaine, forgot our salad but brought it back in a heart beat. We asked for 2 to go boxes but gave us 1 like she Knew better. The meat was exceptional. Same as the seating arrangement; by the back by the back door which made us easily forgotten. Overall if the food wasn’t good I would gave u guys 2 stars. Sincerely Trevor T.

Consistently great, friendly service and delicious food at very reasonable cost. I refer to Best Little RoadHouse as my parent’s kitchen away from their own. Living in Los Angeles with a plethora of dining options — it was always a bit depressing when contemplating meals out while visiting my parents in Salem . I now understand why my parents so enjoy The Best Little Roadhouse … In addition to the terrific food and wonderful service it is located in an easily accessible location with vast & convenient parking And in addition to some very hearty menu items there are several very healthy options including a baked sweet potato ! Stellar spot

My favorite part about this restaurant is the soup, absolutely amazing soups, my personal favorite is the loaded potato. Other than that the place is pretty standard. Decent service decent food, nothing too spectacular other than the soups for me

Food is decent and well-priced. There is nothing special about the food or ambiance. It is a good place to eat and consistent.

Ok… The ribs and tritips special was amazing. This place WAY surpassed all of my very low expectations. Seriously. Call ahead to see if the special is available. The tips were tender with a hint of hickory. These ribs(with the sauces on the side!!!) were fall off the bone good — with just enough char and fat. The garlic mashers were amazing(I had mine with bacon). My girlfriend ate the salmon on her salad and said it was spectacular. Everything else was ok — passable. The mixed drinks left something to be desired.

Of the«roadhouse» restaurants in Salem, I’ve had the best luck here at «Best Little» on Commercial, by the mini golf course. I was here with a party group, so much of the reason for selecting this restaurant is the spacious covered patio dining area out back, which includes heaters that kept us more than warm on a December day. For my entrée, I selected the Smoked Tri-Tip sandwich. I forgot to ask at the time, but the menu says it comes with your choice of BBQ sauce, however no choice was offered, so I’m not sure which one I received. The slices of beef were tender and overall, it was a good sandwich. I also sampled several of the appetizers that were passed around our group, my favorite being the Tennessee Wraps, a fried wrap filled with cheese and served with a peppery dipping sauce. The servers were attentive and our party was a success.

We go here a lot for family get together a or just with a friend or too. The martinis are some of the best I’ve ever had. The seating is comfortable and good service and food. Every once and a while the food isn’t consistent but that’s about the only problem I have with the place.

This restaurant is everything other reviewers have said that is positive. The food was cooked properly, the doneness of food was as ordered. The staff was attentive and took care of little things like more butter, more bacon, etc. The only drawback was the noise factor. Which made it difficult but not impossible to deal with at our small table. When you go to a $ 20+ a plate steakhouse, parents need to leave their little screamers with a sitter. This restaurant is no place for small crying or screaming children. This observation is not an indictment of the restaurant, just a request that parents realize not everyone loves the little screamers. It is not part of the ambiance when paying $ 20+ for dinner.

This place is absolutely amazing! We walked in and the guy hostess(not sure his name) was very nice and seated us quickly. I had the steak sandwich with a side salad and the garlic mashed potatoes. I have never had such good potatoes! My mom had the tri-tip sandwich with sweet potato fries and that was also amazing. The quality of food at this restaurant is great! Our waiter, her name was Chelsey, was absolutely the best! She was quick to refill drinks and very friendly. My only complaint about this place is that I feel that it is a very loud atmosphere and there was kids screaming the whole hour and a half I was there. I will definitely be a returning customer when I am in the area again and bringing more people with me to try this place!

The good… costomer service was amazing, which in my opinion is super important. The okay… the food. The dinner rolls are great and so was the coconut shrimp but the steak and pasta was lacking in flavor. So I’m guessing it’s going to be pretty hit or miss depending on what you order. The bad… it’s so loud in the there so it’s hard to have a conversation. But on the bright side its nice and quieter dinning outside.

Took some kids with special needs here to do the miniature golf. The staff were very friendly and one of the kids was getting dehydrated in the heat(upper 90’s) and they were gracious enough to provide most of us who wanted it with cups of water for free. I would love to come back and try their food sometime because they treated us so well.

Fast, friendly service. Good portion sizes for the cost. My only complaint was the soup I had could have used more flavor.

Nice social atmosphere. It was a busy night(Saturday), but we were seated right away in the bar area(everyone has to be 21). The bread and honey butter is always a nice treat. Our server forgot the butter, and apologized and gave us extra bread and butter! We had the onion strings as an appetizer, and it was a large amount for three adults and we couldn’t finish them. Overall, a good place to socialize over drinks and food.

Husband and I stopped by here today for lunch. I ordered the nachos and he had the taco salad. Our service was terrific; our server was attentive despite the fact that he was really busy. The atmosphere was pleasant and our food presented very attractively. I was going to share some of Husband’s salad, but it was so spicy there was no way I could eat it. Same thing with the pico de gallo. I ate about half the nachos and we brought the rest home. They were okay, but not very cheesy. I wished I’d ordered the potato skins instead. The rolls were fabulous and served warm along with wonderful honey butter. We were only in Salem for a few hours; we don’t get down there very often. I don’t think we’ll go back here, though. The prices were kinda high for what we got. The best parts of the meal were our server and the rolls.

It’s really, really sad that this is what Salem has as a «steakhouse». These folks haven’t the slightest idea how to treat a piece of beef; but then, I doubt that most of the people who eat here can tell you the difference between rare and well done, so why should the staff care? We were dragged to some makeshift outdoor-patio-made-indoor-patio in the back of the restaurant. Seats were patio chairs and the temperature shifted constantly between sweltering hot and freezing. Service was fast and attentive, despite how busy it was. The food. however, was atrocious, especially for the $ 27.50 filet mignon. My god. I ordered mine medium and it came out rare. I sent it back which, in retrospect, I shouldn’t have, and waited 10 minutes for it to return. I got back a thick filet that was cooked mid-well, at least, and was as dry as a hockey puck. I felt like an idiot shoving this near $ 30 steak down, but dared not complain again lest I look like a patron who just cant be pleased. The«sauteed» mushrooms were obviously steamed. The garlic mashed potatoes were russets, skin on, and seemed to have been cooked without having been washed. They were so gritty I left them. The waiter at least asked about this and ended up comping the potatoes($ 4). Rolls were fine, as was the salad. $ 80 for our two dinners and one appetizer. So over priced for such mediocre food.

We stopped for appetizers and salad. Food was very good. Got buffalo wings, Potato skins and salad. All were very good size peons. Took half of it home. Service was friendly but marginal on service. They liked to visit with each other more than refresh drinks and such. Atmosphere was grownups, fun and not too loud that you could not visit while eating. Overall would definitely return.

As a combo restaurant /miniature golf course, this place definitely deserves 5 stars. The miniature golf course is high quality. The holes were all very unique and interesting. They had their challenges due to ramps to exit the green(+1 stroke penalty) and elevation changes. There were not any mechanical obstructions(i.e. windmills). It looked very classy — more like a literal miniature golf course(as opposed to brightly colored). There were a couple of negatives. When I went to pick a putter, the first one I grabbed had a sticky handle — it was really gross. Upon further inspection, about half of them needed to be cleaned. Additionally, the course had a bit of debris(leaves from the surrounding foliage), so the employees could do a bit of a better job to go through and clean everything up regularly. We received a 50 cent discount on the price due to also eating dinner at the restaurant($ 5.50 v. $ 6.00 per person). Dinner was good. I really enjoyed the bread and butter they brought out before the meal. I accidentally ate way too much of it because it was so delicious. Pulled pork sandwich was ok. Loaded mashed potatoes were ok. Nothing was mind-blowingly good, but really it’s the combo good dinner + awesome miniature golf course that makes this place worth the 5 stars.
