I Unilocal alot; it’s important to have reviews of places to eat or stay when you are either unfamiliar with an area, or looking for something new. I don’t give out 5stars like candy on Halloween, but Firenze deserves it. This has got to be one of the best restaurants that I’ve been to in a while. Had dinner there, again, last night. All I can say is: Fabulous. The food is amazing; from the appetizers to the entrees to the choice of specials. Fresh, fabulously prepared meals each and every time. The staff is helpful, friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. The atmosphere is cozy without being ‘small’ or ‘cramped’. You must try this place. It’s a hidden gem on the North Shore.

Amazing pasta, probably the best I’ve ever had. The service, the location, the quality. All top notch. All at decent prices. Highly recommended.

Phenomenal — not to be missed. It is worth traveling to the North Shore simply to eat here. Fantastic food, great people. Better than the vast majority of places in the North End — absolute gem.

I’ve dined here many times with parties of various sizes and have never had a bad experience. The staff is pleasant and attentive. Service is quick and efficient. They have a knack for remembering their guests and welcoming you back. The food is fantastic, and special requests are accommodated without issue. Highly recommended.

Had a gift certificate. We went. It is too expensive for the food that they serve.120 for 2 people. At least the waitstaff was friendly and attentive. I had the Bronzino and my husband had a pasta dish that was not memorable. It was like there was no flavor in the food. I most likely will never go back.

The food, service and ambiance were absolutely AMAZING. My bf brought me here for my birthday(took me to Salem so other can prepare for my surprise bday party). For an appetizer we split the Ribollita Toscana(winter stew). It was perfectly flavored and delicious, you could taste the potatoes and carrots blended together but they were not over powering. Yum. For the main course I got the liver with gnocchi. Let me tell you the best liver dish I have ever had. It was perfectly cooked and the sauce was so yummy. I think I would have been happy with just the sauce I bread, it was that good. Lol My bf got the Italian sausages with the bean soup. Also very good and nicely flavored and cooked but I would say the liver was better. For dessert we got the tiramisu and the bread pudding. Both were nicely done, my favorite was the bread pudding . The server was friendly and great(she would update us on the Pats game haha). What I really liked was that the owner was present and interactive with his customers and staff. I really appreciate when the owner is present because it means he cares about his restaurant and that the customers enjoy themselves.

In a world of so many pseudo-Italian joints his is a true gem and the real thing. Meaning a real Italian restaurant run by two brothers from Tuscany. Why they would leave Tuscany for Salem MA is probably a good story, but I’m just glad they did, and that they brought their family culinary secrets with them. I live in Boston and met a North Shore friend here for dinner and was blown away. Handmade fresh pasta, delicious sauces and personal attentive service. If I lived in Salem I would eat here at least once a week. Seriously, just go, and bring your appetite.

Very cozy and authentic Italian dining in the center of Salem. Owner Andy who grew up in Florence is warm and welcoming. His passion for good food and great personalized service adds to the ambiance. We visited on restaurant week and ordered off the special prix fixe menu.

This place is worth the wait. The waitstaff is super friendly and you get that Italy feel in this place. I had the fish special and the burrata(might have spelled that wrong) and it was great. It’s a quaint little place.

Firenze Trattoria is easily one of the best restaurants on the North Shore! The staff is incredibly friendly, welcoming, and helpful, even in the midst of our crazy Halloween tourist season. The food is consistently fantastic and the frequently changing seasonal menu items and daily specials make each trip to Firenze a new, exciting experience. Everything I’ve had at Firenze has been delicious, but I am particularly fond of their pasta dishes — the pappardelle al ragu and bucatini all’Amatriciana are two standouts that should not be missed! Oh and if they have chocolate mousse on the dessert menu, do yourself a favor and order it, because it is a bowl of decadent, chocolatey heaven.

Everything from the atmosphere to the food to the service– perfect. A very affordable yet delightful bottle of rose wine started off our meal, paired nicely with melt in your mouth ravioli, i believe it was the Ravioli al Pomodoro e Basilico. Each of our entrees were perfection(pork chops, steak). We highly highly recommend the ravioli– the sauce was absolutely incredible. It is very clear that the chef puts attention to every facet of everything that leaves his kitchen. The place is very small, and does not accept reservations. This is a downfall, but completely understandable for such a small restaurant. We waited almost an hour and it was worth every single mouthful. Our bill was reasonable — a bottle of wine, shared app, 2 entrees, and 2 desserts set us back around $ 160 after tip. Not once did we feel rushed despite the line waiting outside. I’ll most definitely be back. I was recommended this place from a friend of the owners and he kept raving about the tiramisu, which unfortunately the kitchen did not have that night. Hopefully ill be able to catch tiramisu the next time around.

Amidst the quirky surroundings of Salem, is this delightful Italian restaurant that is cozy and delicious. To start, the arugula salad was so fresh and delicious, as was the flavorful tomato stew. The Pappardelle al Ragu was more of a cream-based pasta(dare I say, akin to beef stroganoff) and so delicious. He got the branzino, which came with roasted vegetables, one of the dinner specials. Cooked to perfection, the meat was tender and sweet — very easy to eat. Had the choice of serving it de-boned or boned — we went with boned :) We concluded with the chocolate mousse and it was delicious! Overall, we absolutely loved the food and experience. The staff was fantastic and the host(who I think was the owner perhaps?) followed us out the door and spent time talking to us and recommending places to continue our evening. Highly recommend if you are in the area! Obviously, by how many times I said«delicious.»

Wow. I loved this place. We were immediately welcomed(and I do mean welcomed) by a man who I think was the owner. He put us at a nice little spot and made sure we were okay with it. He was charming, friendly, and very welcoming. The ambiance was clean and cozy. The space itself is smaller, but it just added to the charm. Even the street the restaurant is on added to the cozy feel, being a small winding street in downtown Salem. The food was phenomenal. I had the chicken dish with peppers, spinach, and potatoes and it was filling and utterly delicious. We had cannoli for dessert which have just a hint of orange. They were quite good as well. I will 100% be going back– just a great overall experience.

If you’re looking for an overpriced, noisy Italian restaurant where you have to catch the waiter’s attention, then go somewhere else! However, if you are looking for outstanding, fresh and uniquely created food with a Tuscan flair that is served by friendly and warm staff, then this is the place! The Algerian brothers that manage Firenze Trattoria came to America via Florence, Italy(hence, the name)…and WOW, did they ever pick up great skills in how to run a quality restaurant along the way! You will feel at home in this small, yet romantic restaurant as you soak in all the fabulous flavors that Firenze Trattoria brings out in their foods. We were so impressed with our meal and service, we invited Andi(our server and one of the owners) to sit down with us, chat and share a glass of wine. This is the kind of place it is… where you feel that you are dining among friends. We’ve found our new favorite restaurant and can’t wait for our next visit!

We had been wanting to try Firenze for quite a while, but finally got there this past Friday and we were extremely impressed with both the food and the service. TLDR: The last place we had Italian food this great was Italy(and that includes the North End). The food at Firenze was delicious, high quality, and fresh. The atmosphere was bustling, but still cozy. there are large windows at the front which were open to the night air. The owner of the establishment was extremely welcoming from the start and our servers were attentive without being overbearing. We started out with a carafe of the house Pinot Grecio and it was high quality with a fair price. We skipped appetizers and decided to have the bread and oil provided which was fresh and delicious. My husband ordered the Salmon Carbonara and I ordered the Rose Ravioli. We both literally wiped our plates clean! I can’t say enough about how delicious the entrees were. Dessert was equally great. We tried the canolis which had perfect texture and a slight orange flavor. They were unique and memorable. We really enjoyed our dinner. To top it off, my husband forgot his credit card and our waiter literally ran down the street to get us and give it back. All in all it was a perfect meal and we will absolutely be back!

It really is as Good as It Gets!!! I recommend this restaurant to anyone. My boyfriend and I just celebrated our birthdays at Firenze Trattoria. I am a Salem Business owner and my boyfriend is a Seasoned Chef. He is one of the most non-fun person to go to dinner with because he is so scrutinizing when he goes out to eat. He definitely gave 10 Thumbs Up!!! He loved it!!! Everything tasted amazing and the service was impeccable. Definitely a destination to visit when you are visiting Salem. Thanks again. Just as good as the first time I tried it if not better. Seafood dishes are always stand outs. Super fresh and cooked perfectly. I’ve discovered some of my new favorite wines here and the best part is easily the awesome service/friendliness of everyone who works here.

Our original destination was Scosso in the Northshore Mall(first time) but when we walked up to the door, a note on the door said the restaurant was closed and to check their website for updates so we’re not sure what happened there? We logged on to Unilocal and found this wonderful restaurant. Thank you UnilocalERS for steering us here. It was a very short drive(3.5 miles or so) from the mall to this very quaint restaurant. We called before arriving to confirm they were open and we did not require reservations. The gentleman who answered was very warm and inviting, no reservation required. We were immediately greeted by a very nice gentleman with a heavy italian accent. He ended up being our primary waiter and was very attentive but not overbearing … as were all of the other servers. We started with the Antipasto which included 3 different italian meats and cheeses. Neither the hubby nor I prefer olives so they kindly surprised us with marinated mushrooms in lieu of the olives… which I loved. Complimentary bread and oil for dipping was also served. The bread was very fresh and the dipping oil, flavorful and excellent! We aren’t wine connoisseurs so stuck with just plain ol’ water. They had many interesting seafood specials but I had my heart set on risotto so ordered the shrimp & summer vegetable risotto. My other half ordered gnocchi in a pesto cream sauce. Both arrived piping hot and the risotto was the BEST I’ve ever had. Loaded with shrimp and fresh summer vegetables(squash, red onions, carrots, asparagus, beans) and the broth/sauce was so flavorful, rice, perfect! My hubby’s gnocchi was very tender and the sauce, amazing. Risotto portion was very generous, the gnocchi a very fair amount as well. We were offered dessert but given the appetizer and generous portions, we declined. Maybe next time. Our total check came to $ 51, not including tip which is a VERY fair price for such a fabulous meal. The restaurant is quite small(maybe 12 or so tables, seating maybe 40 people) so I imagine they can be very busy during peak times. You can’t beat the service, everyone who works here was so friendly and attentive nor can you beat the quality. We’ll definitely be back! Can’t wait to try additional dishes!
