Fresh food, but over the last year it got very pricey(compared with other Italian restaurants I found in the area). Portion size is average. Remember, this is pasta. Why skimp? Also, we used to go there for Easter regularly, but this year they priced themselves out of the market($ 60 lamb plate, really?), and you could only choose from 3 dishes. I started dining elsewhere unless someone specifically requests Tuscan. Great atmosphere but for the price, there are many other food-comparable choices close by, for 20%-30% less. I can say one thing, their food is consistently good, but then again, so are the others.

We hosted our wedding rehearsal dinner here. Edwin was the private dining/catering manager I dealt with and he was very pleasant to work with, quick to respond to my emails and helpful with all questions. They were very flexible with any changes I wanted to make. We were in the Toscana room which has a private outdoor terrace. The room was just the right size with two long tables for our 25 guests. Service was great and everyone thought the food was fantastic. We did a buffet with two entrée choices(roasted pork tenderloin and herb crusted sirloin were delicous). Dinner also came with a salad, pasta dish, two sides and we got assorted pastries for dessert. I thought the pricing was very reasonable. We were very happy with our experience here.

When I was in area for the week, I told myself that I would eat plenty of Italian and seafood. This place didn’t disappoint. In fact, I thought about this place the entire week after I went. My friend and I had burrata and charcuterie platter to start. The burrata was similar to fresh mozzarella, which is one of my top ten type of cheese. I love cheese. Just a little. The charcuterie platter was an ample sample of various cheeses, meats, and jams. You can never go wrong with prosciutto. As for the entrees, I had the lobster ravioli while my friend had the wild boar gnocchi. My entrée was great, but the highlight of the dinner was the gnocchi. The gnocchi were just the right texture. They were soft and tender without being doughy or sticky. Now if only I can get my job to send me back out here again…

Our waiter was excellent, and I feel awful that I can’t remember his name to praise him on here. I was there with a large party and the service was excellent. The food wasn’t worth the price, maybe I’m spoiled from my frequent visits to the North End, but the food was only so so. The appetizers and salad we ordered we good(meatballs, mozzarella and Cesar salad); however I got the ricotta gnocchi for my main course and it wasn’t impressive. The first plate they brought out was still frozen so I think that really ruined the meal from the start. When they brought out the second plate, which wasn’t frozen, I was so grossed out from the first plate that I couldn’t enjoy it. Overall, old look elsewhere for good food. The Tuscan Market is better, but I wouldn’t visit the restaurant again.

We had my daughters bridal shower in the wine cellar, a private room in the Tuscan Kitchen at the Salem, NH location. It was just perfect! We had 30 guests and the room was beautiful. We were able to customize with a slide show that we presented on their large TV. They also played music for our event but we could have customized that as well with our own if we wanted. Everyone enjoyed their lunch and raved about the lemon coconut cake! Edwin the catering manager was fantastic to work with. He gave us suggestions and ideas, many of which we incorporated which lead to a very successful event! We had 2 waitstaff that served our function and they were helpful and professional as well. Well done Tuscan Kitchen, I got so much positive feedback… you made me look like a rock star! Thanks, Nancy

Great, «higher end» food, which is hard to find in this area. The service is top notch, though two times I’ve been there the hostess was beyond rude/unwelcoming, which tainted the beginnings of our Tuscan experience. The atmosphere is more akin to Cheesecake factory than fine dining, very crowded, noisy, and not as high-end as the food and menu prices indicate. Parking is weird too — huge lot, but much of closer parking is valet reserved, which doesn’t seem like many people use but just end of parking farther away(but an easy 50 – 75 yd walk) at the Tuscan market. These guys don’t seem to understand this is not Boston(valet, higher prices, snooty hostesses, Cheesecake vibe-steakhouse prices). Still, as there isn’t much comparable in the area, the place is always packed, so make sure to make a resi. Black truffle burrata(appetizer) is an enormous helping of cheese(was good, but have definitely had better) served with two tiny toasts(and some mushrooms). Enough for four people. Asked the server for more toasts but he forgot.

This is one of the best Italian restaurants I’ve eaten at and I’ve eaten at many! Whenever I visit New Hampshire, I must come here for dinner. Dinner during this past visit could not have been better. Started with the Black Truffle Burrata which was wonderful. For dinner I had their Duck Raviolis… delicious! Then finished with a scoop of Mascarpone Gelato. What a great meal. Almost forgot the most refreshing start to the evening… the Cucumber Martini Don’t forget to stop in the market across the parking lot! I always buy some salami to bring home for the family. See you next time in town Tuscan Kitchen & Market!!!

Surprisingly fantastic food and atmosphere for Salem, NH. I’ve been here a few times now and have had consistently good experiences … The last time I visited, I ordered the fennel-crusted cod dish. Though pricey, it totally blew me away. It was an amazing, lighter-side entrée with beautifully cooked fish, roasted potatoes, sundried tomatoes, olives and a delicious sauce. In fact I liked this so much that I refused to even let my brother or father try some(#meansister). I have been impressed by other dishes — the pizzas are great, the veggie platter, the pastas, the salads. I also like that you can get half portions of some items to mix and match your meal. The real magic is in all the small details at Tuscan. From the time you enter the parking lot, you feel as though you have been transported away from Salem … Not quite to Italy, but at least to a really old vacation spot. I don’t use the valet, but I like that it’s there. Visiting the bathroom takes you on a tour of the lovely wine cellar and function rooms. I love the open kitchen, and of course the basket of fresh starter focaccia with herbs and oil dip is above and beyond. Bonus points for the ability to shop the market before you head home!

Not Italian, not by a long shot. Food is tasty but when it arrives you gotta ask… Where’s the rest of it? Small portions high prices and very beautiful décor. I told my wife after our 3rd visit to take a real good look at the inside of the place. She asked why? I said because it’s the last time you will see it. Ciao!

Way, way, way overpriced. The atmosphere is top notch, the food/service is good, but the serving sizes combined with the prices are outrageous. This is not a 5 star restaurant in downtown NYC, get over yourself TK.

Came for dinner to what looked to be a great restaurant based on appearance alone. This place is beautiful inside and out and definitely feels like a fine dining establishment. That said, the food was on par with an an upscale Italian chain like Carrabba’s. Nothing bad, just nothing very creative or overly delicious. I could have easily given this place 3 stars, but my service at the bar was excellent so the 4th star was earned there. The only thing I might order a second time was the squash capellacci. I also wanted to love the lemoncello tiramisu, and it was good not great.

Great meal and drinks tonight! Our service was even better. Our waiter was so attentive and knowledgable and took his time with us and every table. Forgot why I don’t go more often. After tonight we will be returning more.

I absolutely love the food here. I have found it to be consistently good, and even if the food comes out and isn’t to my liking the server does a great job at making things right. I did take off a star due to the insanely high prices. Even a simple pasta dish is crazy overpriced, and while it is good it is not worth what they are charging. I can justify spending a lot on a specialty dish or something I can’t easily make at home. But to charge 15x what it costs to make a plate of spaghetti is just insane!

Driving thru New Hampshire looking for a place to stop and eat. Was tired of fast food wanted a little bit more wholesome. Went online and checked out a couple reviews decided to check out the Tuscan place. The parking lot looks full took advantage of the valet service. The greeting was excellent we were in mediately brought to the table which I love.

Came here for Valentine’s Day. PERFECT The Salumi e Formaggi was outstanding, as were our entrees. Service impeccable. A bit pricey but nice to find a place that’s worth every nickel.

My boyfriend took me here for Valentine’s day, so you can imagine how busy it was. Only waited 5 minutes for our table(we had reservations) and was able to get a drink at the bar while waiting. I absolutely love their sangria! We got sat on the second floor. Our server was great! The food was amazing! I had filet and my boyfriend had some sort of sirloin. The desert was fabulous. All the ladies got roses at the end of the dinner. It was a great time. I came here previously for a wedding in October and it was just as good then also, they never dissapoint!

Terrific atmosphere that never seems harried, even though the restaurant has always been banged out when we arrive. No problems with reservations. Some waiters and waitresses are better than others, but we’ve never had a bad one in the approximately half-dozen times we’ve been there. We usually grab a drink at the bar before our table time, and the bar service can be pretty slow. They have two bartenders doing it all, so you kind of expect that, and that bar’s too small for a third, «service» bartender, but that would really improve the experience. Still, a great selection of wines and boozes. Taps could be boosted a bit, though I am overwhelmed by those 100-beers-on-draught places, so this isn’t a major concern in this place. At an Italian restaurant, it’s not about the beer, anyway. Every meal I’ve had there, be it steak, seafood or a traditional Fra Diavolo, has been delicious and well-presented. Prices are high, though a little cheaper than in Boston, if that’s helpful. Plenty of parking(and I think they even offer valet — or used to) and easy to get to, if you bypass the hellish Route 28 via South Policy street or take Exit 2 off I-93. People shouldn’t drink and drive, but you DEFINITELY don’t want to drink and drive in Salem, especially.

Absolutely gorgeous restaurant! Like Tuscany meets Vegas. Not your traditional«chicken parm» place. The menu is specific to Tuscany cuisine. Those who frequent the Olive Garden probably won’t like it. Everything is made in-house. Good bread, good service, fresh pasta, good wine menu. Very busy. The only negative is how long you have to wait. Every time I have been there, I have been seated at least 30 minutes after my reservation time.

The Tuscan Kitchen in Salem is 5 stars all the way! Honestly, this place is about as good as you’ll get in this area, no doubt about it. This place is huge, has a fantastic building, wonderful food and a great wine cellar. Came here with a rather large party and we were seated within 10 minutes of arrival. The servers and hostesses really do a good job smiling and people pleasing. Sat down and had some delicious spicy calamari, some lobster ravioli and tiramisu for dessert. All of the dishes mentioned above were very very good and the server made sure the wine glasses were full and water was pumping through. Overall, the Tuscan Kitchen is an awesome restaurant for the patrons of Salem. Highly recommended. Pros– Great food Service Cleanliness Downstairs wine cellar New architecture Prompt Fresh tasting Great menu Cons– Parking can be a drag A bit pricey Bathrooms are far from the dining room
