Orange chicken was good. Szechuan chicken was excellent. Fried rice was decent. Plenty of food in the combo. Bbq pork was dry and egg flower soup was bland. Prices are decent. I would order food from them again.

Changed it from the usual wings and pizza on this super day to some good ol’ Chinese food! Great way to spend the superbowl day! Always great with their orders and it only took 20 minutes from the time I ordered to deliver the meal, Said it would be an hour. This was a nice surprise! Always giving tips because they deserve it. #BroncosNation

AMAZING!!! My mouth was in heaven! I ordered orange chicken, broccoli beef, pork fried rice and egg rolls. I was a first time customer, and now a customer for life! I haven’t had such an amazing Chinese meal in years! I highly recommend to anybody near or far or just passing through Salem, to eat here.

Stopped here while trucking thru Oregon, awesome tasting food, great prices for the amount that comes on your plate. Paid $ 23 for 3 plates and took plenty of leftovers !!!

First time doing take out at this restaurant. We had an $ 80 New Years Day order at 3:00. Left with our order at 3:30. Staff told us it could 30 – 40 minutes. Got home and chowed down. Everything was GREAT. General chicken was perfect. Highly recommend this place. We WILL be back.

Great portions and prices. Crab puffs are quite good. Fried rice is tasty and not as greasy as some restaurants.

Was craving Chinese during my 8th month of pregnancy and found Yan Yan. While it did hit the spot, this place could use a few extra touches. The hot and sour soup was not good. It was more gelatinous and barely had any fungus or veggies in it. The rest of my meal was sub-par, but it is what it is. Will I be back? No

A friend introduced us to this restaurant after being faithful followers of the Chinese restaurant on N. Portland Road. but the food is even better here, and the fellow that takes the orders has always been very accommodating and we get very large portions. About $ 9 for 4 items… we almost always get our order to go… .but they also offer a small but pleasant inside dining area…. Consistantly great food!

My favorite Chinese restaurant in the Salem area. The food quality and reasonable price are not the only reasons – the customer service is excellent. The servers are friendly and they personalize your dining experience.

Solid Chinese food. Best things in my opinion was general tso’s chicken, egg drop soup, and almond chicken. Really liked how they have 3 item combos for dinner with way more food then should be possible for $ 10 or less. Beef dishes I felt were not as good, got Mongolian and broccoli, but still above average

This place was fantastic! The portion sizes were huge. The server tried to warn us, but our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. We had hot and sour soup, crab puffs, Kung Pao chicken, moo shu pork, and spicy asparagus chicken. Best. Ever. All ingredients were legit(real chicken vs. Frankenchicken). Best of all, everything was super inexpensive. You won’t be disappointed.

Food: Three stars. Absolutely average and utterly traditional Chinese-American. Since every American is familiar with this style, no elaboration is necessary. Drinks: Two stars. Absolutely average and utterly traditional Chinese-American except that there is no bar, just cheap wines and blah Heiniken or bad Chinese and American beers. Service: Four stars: Fast and friendly. Ambiance: Two stars: The outside is rather run-down but the inside is clean, comfortable, well lighted, and outfitted with spacious booths. Despite its apparent age, Yan Yan is a fairly attractive diner, better maintained than most Chinese restaurants. However, seriously irritating, fast-paced and presumably popular thumpety-thump«music,» utterly antagonistic to a relaxed meal, is played over one of the worst restaurant audio systems I’ve heard in some time. The only upside to this godawful noise is that it is played softly, so you will be able to converse with those dining with you. And speaking of noise, this is a very popular family restaurant, so you will see and hear, and hear, and hear, lots of small children. Price: Six stars: Yan Yan delivers Salem’s best value on mediocre but perfectly edible food by a wide margin. Yes, I’ve seen better prices; but no, the food was not edible. We ordered a dinner for two. For twenty-five dollars, we received enough food for three dinners for two adults, or one dinner for two adults and three children under ten, or a good snack for two hungry teenage boys. Summary: This is not fine dining but if you live on a budget and your family includes hungry children, you definitely should try Yan Yan.

This place is pretty good. I ordered the lemon chicken and my husband ordered the beef chow fun? I’m not sure how you say/spell it): my lemon chicken was delicious but unfortunately my husband didn’t like his plate that much. All in all, it’s a nice Chinese food place, they do take out which for us is a plus. They are also very good with their portions, they give you a decent amount of food. And the prices are very cheap! Which my husband likes. When I went to pick up the food and saw the actual restaurant, it was small but very cozy and the vibes were chill. I wouldn’t mind going back again to eat in house(: I have to give it three stars bc my husband didn’t like his plate, but honestly for me, I would mind going back and trying some other things off their menu.

I just moved from Portland recently so I’ve been going to the same place off 82nd for years !! So I consider myself lucky as heck to have found this place. I was on Unilocal looking for places that delivered this weekend because the heat has been impossible to even think to turn my stove on but the thought of another burger wouldn’t cut it at all! I ordered a large fries shrimp, pork fried rice, egg foo young, and steamed rice, they informed me it would take 45 mins. I was shocked when the food actually arrived 20 mins later. The shrimp fried rice was amazing !! Their food is great lol to be honest writing this review made me hungry all over again

The only thing I eat at Chinese restaurants are the Singapore pan fried rice noodles and the crab puffs. When I found out this place had both, was right by my work, and had good reviews, I had to give them a try. Wow – BEST Singapore noodles yet. Unlike the other restaurants these are actually spicy! There are more vegetables, too, and you won’t end up with nothing but noodles after your third helping. The crab puffs were typical crab puffs. Despite the fact that the waitress said to me, «You hungry!» when I placed my order, I will forgive her because her noodles are so good. But just so you know, I knew I was ordering a lot and planned to take the majority home for future meals(and did). Unfortunately I don’t think I can eat these noodles anywhere else now, and this place is all the way over on Lancaster!
