The food was average at best. The ribs were overcooked which meant leaving half of it on my plate because it was more like hard beef jerky than fall off the bone ribs. The cole slaw was bland as was the corn. I went here because it was recommended by a friend but I’m sorry to say I won’t be back.

Best BBQ in Salina. Isn’t that a bit like being the best sushi joint in Nebraska? But don’t let that deter you, or do. I really can’t force you to do anything

Really delicious smoked ribs. Fell off the bone tender but incredibly flavorful. Good Cole slaw and steak fries too. Will certainly return when traveling through. A couple of miles from the highway but well worth it.

Had a shredded pork sandwich and it was delicious. My son had the open faced Texas sandwich with Texas toast, mash potatoes, gravy and chopped beef. He states it was delicious as well. Place was clean. We will go back.

Its the only BBQ I had while passing thru city. It’s a «order at counter, we will call your number when order is ready» type place. Skip dessert. Dessert really is not very good. Price is fair. So is the food.

I don’t know why all the meat is shredded or chopped. The chicken and brisket are pulled apart just like the pulled pork. Why? I don’t care for the sauce either. The sides are ok, nothing special. My husband said the ribs were the toughest he’s ever had. However, the pies & cobbler were very good. Tasted homemade & portions were huge.

It has been a very long time since we had BBQ that left us satisfied. So far I have had the pulled pork and brisket. Both were delicious! I have never had chopped brisket, only sliced– so I was thrown off by that at first. But it was saved by its flavor. We will be eating from here many more times.

Quick, reasonable price. Oh and amazingly good!!! Three meat dinner has enough food for a couple meals. Highly recommended.

A very nice lunch. Quick service. Clean place. I had the Smokehouse sandwich — Chopped Brisket with slices of hot links on the sandwich. They have a pickle and onion bar to garnish. I also had the coleslaw. It was very good for a creamy sweetened sauce. I enjoyed my meal very much.

My quest for great BBQ outside of Texas continues… Hog Wild looked promising by the reviews, so I decided to stop. City-style interior, with some attempts to make it more rustic, but ending up too sleek to fool anyone. I ordered a combination plate as usual, because I judge a BBQ place primarily by their sliced brisket, followed by sausage and either chicken, turkey or pork. I ordered brisket, pulled pork and hot links… I suppose that’s their version of sausage. Sides were coleslaw and potato salad. I also grabbed a few jalopeno slices. My number was called, and I picked up my plate, noting immediately that the brisket was… …chopped? I swear this trip put me into the weirdest string of BBQ places I’ve ever been to. Usually a menu will specify chopped brisket… not this one. Good sliced brisket is a staple of a good BBQ place. I was slightly disappointed there, but at least it had a good flavor. The pulled pork was good as well. The hot links were okay. The potato salad tasted like older store-bought fare, with very mushy potatoes, and for some reason the coleslaw tasted like potpourri. Final word: A colossally«meh» meal.

Pretty good. Chopped pork sandwich was tasty. Ribs were to fatty for me. Regular sauce was good, hot sauce didn’t taste good(too much vinegar I think). Place is nice, clean, and big.

Very good BBQ! Loved the ribs and hot links. BBQ sauces were very good, stuck with the spicy variety. Excellent baked beans. And the prices were very reasonable for the portion sizes. Got a 3 meat meal, and barely finished half of my plate. Pulled pork was ok, not fantastic. But the ribs were fall off the bone good, and when combined with the spicy sauce, well, struggled to finish them all because was getting full, but knew those wouldn’t keep as well. Will be coming back next time am in the area!

our road trip across country put us in salina for the night. a welcomed meal of smoked chicken and ribs after a long road of vast lands. this is solid bbq and quick to order. ribs were tender, chicken had a good smoked flavor. well worth the slight detour off I-70.

Definitely put on your list! For $ 10, hubby and I shared a dinner with two meat choices, two sides, and Texas toast.(The 3-meat choice was only $ 1 more, but we weren’t that hungry.) Cole slaw was crisp and not«juicy», potato salad had a nice little mustard twang. Could have done without the Texas toast, which was just thick sliced butter-brushed bread, fried on one side. The meat, however, was excellent! Couldn’t find even a smidegeon of fat — just lean brisket and pulled pork. The bbq sauce was tasty and not overwhelming, letting that smoky taste of the meat come through. Peach and cherry cobblers looked homemade.

FANTASTIC barbecue — 4.5 stars!!! My mouth is watering just remembering my trip to Hog Wild… The bf and I split a feast which was great because we got to try a ton of things. We ordered: Carolina pulled pork sandwich(pulled pork, sauce and coleslaw), smokestack sandwich(hot links and brisket), giant stuffed baked potato(sour cream, cheddar cheese, bacon bits and green onions) and two ribs. And the cobbler slices at the register looked so good we almost ordered one. ALMOST. Sheesh we’re not TOTAL pigs ;-) Everything we ordered was delicious. The pulled pork was good, but I don’t really care for coleslaw on my sandwiches. The brisket was so tender and melt-in-your-mouth fantastic. The hot links were surprisingly spicy — watch out for that kick at the end! The white bread sandwich buns are nothing to write home about, but with all that decadent meat inside they really shouldn’t be the memorable part of the experience. The baked potato was giant(other patrons ordered just a potato with some meat on top for their entire meal) and it was cooked to perfection with toppings spilling all over the plate. You could peel the meat off the ribs with your fork, which I particularly like because I find it quite involved to have to get my own meat off bones. Like I said: everything was delicious! This is an order-at-the-counter-and-find-your-own-table establishment. There are booths and tables that can be pushed together to fit larger parties, each stocked with a roll of paper towels that you’re definitely going to need. It was a snowy Sunday around noon when we visited and it was maybe a third full at its peak. As barbecue goes, this is some of the best I’ve ever had. Thank you, Hog Wild, for reaffirming my faith in Kansas barbecue.
