Jim’s Country Style Chicken

Nice variety of food. Specials are bit hit and miss. Chicken is really tasty but watch out for the grease monster, he lurks in the wings. See what I did there?

Not half bad! When they have their buy one meal get one for .99 cents is the way to go! Such a great deal whenever they are running that special.

Good fried chicken. Not a fancy place. Floor needed vacuum cleaner attention. It was friday so they had «bull fries» and let us try them. They were kind of gizzardy. good with cocktail sauce. Very good service. Food came out fast and hot. Milk gravy well seasoned. Instant potatoes and canned veggies, store bought rolls. Chicken is great.

I went to Jim’s a half hour before closing and was prepared to get dried out chicken that had been waiting all night and sub par sides. I was amazed. The chicken was moist and juicy with a crisp slightly crunchy breading. It was not greasy at all.
Now I consider myself a mashed potatoes and gravy guy and that is what is going to bring me back. The potatoes had the perfect amount of salt already added to them. That is my personal pet peeve. Adding salt on top of mashed potatoes is no where near as good.
An added bonus was being able to order an all white meat platter. I don’t like thighs and legs and I am will to pay the extra $ 1.50 for that. The price was right on also — $ 10 for a 3 piece dinner platter.
People might throw things at me but I rather eat here than the Brookville Hotel. The chicken was just as good. The potatoes way better and the price is but a fraction.

Recently ate here. Not a normal thing for us due to the high cost of their food. My wife and me had the fried chicken and it was so over cooked we literally could not finish it. It will be a long long time before we go back. Spending well over $ 20.00 for two unedible dinners doesn’t make one want to rush back. It is NOT the best chicken in Salina.

Monday nights are the best! Homemade food that really hits the spot. Drive in, done in or take out. I always take out because the dinning room is tiny but it’s worth it. The run out of some good items early though so hurry in.

I have traveled 9 hours to eat a special they have on Thursdays. Hot Roast Beef sandwich. I am a food lover and I made it to Salina, KS… Jim’s Country Style Chicken is a landmark in the Salina Area. The Roast beef was plentiful delish and potatoes were amazing. I am here for 3 days and plan to eat 2 specials and the chicken. I can not wait to taste the chicken. I will add to this reveiw as I taste everything they have. So far I am in heaven.

Best Chicken in Salina. Used to be an old A&W drive in. Now is a great chicken restaurant.
