I purchased a 2-month Groupon for full membership benefits for the Powerhouse Gym in Saline. My main motivator to try this gym out was the kid care that came included in the membership. With two small kids, this was awesome for letting me workout in peace. Now to be clear, I’m not a health freak or a gym rat; I just wanted a gym where I could do simple workouts and not have to worry about my kids. In other words, I mainly stick to using the treadmill, bike, free weights, and do some light circuit training. Nothing major. They do offer classes as well that are included in the membership(Zumba, spinning, yoga, boot camp, etc.), but I have yet to attend one. The gym is pretty clean, and the staff is also very friendly. They do have trainers, and I actually did training with Cam for about 3 months. He kicked my butt every workout session. Anyhow, I did end up extending my membership after the 2-month period. The only downside is that pricing is a little high. They gave me an option to pay for 12 months in advance or pay $ 30, $ 40, or $ 50 a month, depending on how much you put down initially. On top of that, there is an annual fee of $ 60. I believe minimum down payment is over $ 100. I am paying $ 40/month, but to me it’s worth it with the kid care. The ladies who run the kid care are super nice and very resourceful. If there is an issue with your kid, they come out and get you, but I haven’t had that happen yet. The gym is also never super crowded. Lots of different ages and body types. All in all, I would definitely recommend this gym.

The equipment is very old and outdated especially the pin stack machines and benches. The leg extension and leg curl machines don’t go very heavy and are worthless to anyone who has strong legs. If you like a gym that isn’t crowded then this is a good place but although I don’t like an overcrowded gym I dislike an undercrowded gym just as well. It’s much more motivating when there is some energy around you and there is very little energy or members here. I would attribute this to the fact that the facility is very overpriced for a bunch of old equipment. Their rates in general are about $ 10 more a month than the Ypsilanti Powerhouse and yet the Ypsi location has much newer, better, equipment and more if it. The only positives I would give the Saline facility is that the dumbells go up to 150 and the facility is 24 hours. I have worked out in dozens of gyms for over 20 years and worked at and managed many gyms for over 10 years. I would happily pay 40, 50, 60 or more dollars a month for a great gym but unfortunately this facility does not warrant that kind of money.

Purchased the 2 month groupon and it was a very good deal to try out the gym. The gym has very good equipment, a good location, open 24⁄7. It is a very good gym to work out at. I’m looking into a regular membership.

We bought a groupon for this gym. The deal was for a full membership for two months and it specifically stated that you would be eligible as long as you had not been a member in the last 12 months(which we have not been) and it implied that daycare was included(because it was a «Full Membership» with no other clauses) When we got there to redeem our groupon we were told that the Saline location does not honor those terms, and daycare would be an extra $ 20/month! … To top it off, Groupon would only issue a Groupon Credit, instead of returning our money — because we had purchased more than 3 days prior. I would not recommend this Gym or Groupon due to their False advertisement and poor customer service I would give them 0 Stars if possible.
