Salisbury Recycling Center

The recycling facility is open one day a week only. That is ridiculous considering the number of residents in Town (nearly 10,000) and the amount of waste that is brought to this facility on that one day. Saturday, from 9 AM to 2 PM. If you have waste to recycle — bottles, glass, plastic, boxes — come early because the facility doesn’t empty the canisters often. If you arrive closer to the end of the day, expect that there will be no place to put your items.
The facility is generally messy on the day it is open because of the number of people who use it and the lack of support from the Town to make this facility into a proper recycling facility. There should be a compactor on site, but there isn’t. I’m glad there is something here in town, but it is not efficient for the number of people. The hours should be open longer and more often.
