One star for a sort of interesting atmosphere inside. As far as the food goes I’m very disappointed. I ordered a few desserts which where overpriced and tasted pretty bad. I also didn’t like how they ask you if you’d like to include a tip when they don’t really serve you, you order at the register and they don’t clean up or anything after you. But still ask you if you’d like to leave a tip lol If you want great vegan food and great service go to Omar’s Rawtopia. Prices there are only slightly higher there but you get great quality food and taste unlike at this strange place.

An awesome vegetarian café nestled within a giant hippy store. You order at the counter and they bring the food to you. Hipsters and yogis were dining in perfect harmony. Went for the Everything but the Girl bowl which was fresh and yummy– quinoa topped with raw veggies and the house dressing. Also ordered the peach lavender smoothie which was a bit overly sweet for my liking but that’s because the peach is from concentrate, which was clearly stated, so that was my fault for ordering wrong for my personal preferences. Would definitely come back and can’t wait to check out the vegan baked goods!

If the length is daunting, see my «Too Long; Didn’t Read» at the bottom :3 Eating at Café Solstice, a cute little space nestled inside Dancing Cranes, is an overall lovely experience. The layout of the café is very nice — there are spacious tables, couches, and a bar-type counter that looks out onto the street. The café is surrounded with plants and potted trees, it’s very clean, the service is great. It has a very calm, relaxing feel in the café, and to top it off, they have a wonderful selection of baked goods, and organic, fresh menu items. The options of noms range from sandwiches, salads, tacos, rice bowls. For the most part, the food tends towards the vegetarian side of the fence… but I do know they have an option or two for meat eaters(It’s a kind of reversed situation, sorry meaties). Everything that I’ve had here is has been tasty, and though I tell myself I’ll try something new every time, I usually just stick to my all time fav: the Hummus ‘n Olive sandwich. All entrees come with a side salad or chips and salsa. I personally suggest getting the salad, as the dressing options are top notch(Cilantro Zest, baby!!). They always have a daily special at Café Solstice — each sounding better than the last. They will usually announce what their special is on their Facebook page, and more often than not, just reading what they have makes my stomach growl. Once entering the café — the direct«right» after walking through the front door of the store — you will have to make a hard decision after staring at the charming and very colorful menu. When you finally pin-point your body’s desires and move to order, you will be confronted with an assortment of tempting baked treats lining the counter. To enhance your experience here… branch out, take a risk, and try some new type of baked good — some are vegan, some are gluten-free. No matter your feelings on diet restriction foods, you’ll be surprised with it’s flavor and taste(I just had a white-chocolate mint bar… and it was life changing). Also — the smoothies have very unique flavors, and the Lemon Chamomile one(the most«fresh» of the smoothies — aka not using frozen stuff) is too good. Café Solstice is a great place to meet up with friends, or to enjoy having an afternoon to yourself. I love coming here and getting some knitting in(see picture) or to just enjoy having me-time. The café really IS calming, and it’s easy to get away from the world, while nourishing your body at the same time. Keeping in mind, I do not believe there is Wi-Fi here. After eating, definitely check out the bulk of the store of Dancing Cranes. It’s hard not to find something that attracts your attention…(I’m addicted to buying rings from them!) But THAT’S for a separate review… Eat up! I’m actually a little sad right now that I’m not able to head over and pick up a Hummus ‘n Olive sandwich. Do it FOR me, my friend! TL;DR: Café Solstice is a new-agey organic, mostly vegetarian house of deliciousness. Get a unique smoothie, a fun and healthy entrée, and please, please, PLEASE get at least one baked good(who can pass on dessert realllly, though?). Great for meeting with friends, great for working on something alone(pretty sure there’s no Wi-Fi though.) The atmosphere is very calming and has a great feel to it. Relax, give your body some great nutrients, and then look at the rings in Dancing Cranes.

This is the coziest place in Salt Lake to get a chai or to just hang out with friends and enjoy a conversation. I love the environment of this place. I will definitely come again, and I’ll send my friends. Thanks for the great service!

Very casual, hippyish place, in a not so great location. Great tea selection, healthy vegan options, and yummy bite sized deserts. I really enjoyed the daily special today: spicy gazpacho with veggie humus sandwich.

If you are looking for something fresh this is the place to go. I have only had their solstice tacos when I went with a side Salad and Thai dressing but I can’t complain. I did have a friend who ordered the Everything but the Girl rice bowl which was also delicious. They have a great selection of teas and I tried their chai tea, which had a kick to it but, great. The restaurant is connected/in Dancing Crane imports if you enjoy things dealing with energy, stones or music this place has a relaxing vibe to it. The workers there are also great at giving suggestions and are very chill

Service is occasionally slow, but they food is excellent as is the tea and coffee selection. One of the things I love is that the rewards program goes off of how frequently I visit, so its become a great place to grab a coffee or tea and study, or stop in for a snack or lunch.

Everything here is delicious! I personally love the Solstice Tacos and Rosemary Lavender cookies along with a White Symphony to wash it all down. Great vibe, down to earthy feel here and the staff is all very nice.

Delicious vegetarian fare. I had the tacos and a side salad with cilantro dressing. A large iced tea of course and they had a lovely selection. My companion had an amazing looking grilled sandwich. The service was inconsistent, mine came out so much earlier than hers that I was almost done by the time she started.

The Luna burger and the banana chai smoothie here is awesome. I also had a tea called«happy place», and it literally left me feeling like I just took a dab, minus the fogginess. Amazing! Will be back soon.

This was a pleasant surprise. I came in solely because I had a free entrée. I would have never gone out of my way to come here, but was pleased to find out it was located inside Dancing Crane, which I’ve put off visiting for months. There was not much variety to the lunch menu. Everything was very health oriented. It shouldn’t come as a surprise given the ambiance, however. The turkey pesto was less a turkey sandwich, and more a salad with good bread. I would usually pick off the veggies, but decided«when in Rome». Very tasty nonetheless. I wouldn’t come back simply because it is not my style. I would keep this place in mind for any hipster chicks I need to impress in the future. It’s nice to try new things.

This is my favorite place to eat! I love the atmosphere as well as the staff. The solstice tacos are my favorite thing on the menu. I also really enjoy the dragon bowl. What I enjoy most is getting the special, it’s creative and delicious every time. Every time I go I get a muffin, best muffin you’ll ever have. Everything at Café Solstice is exceptial: food, coffee, desserts, loose leaf teas and smoothies. Amazing quality at an affordable price.

The story goes that I Unilocaled«Jasmine Tea» and it brought me here. Suddenly I was overcome with overzealous disappointment(dramatic sigh): How have I not heard of this place before!!! I had to check it out. What is «quirky» by Utah standards, felt like a cool stop for lunch somewhere in Venice; the hospitality, quality service, and amazing tea offerings felt right at home. Part shoppe, part coffee stop, Café Solstice is a sure bet to please certain tastes. I ordered a simple, large sweetened Jasmine Milk Tea and walked around Dancing Cranes Imports(within the same locale). Given by the reviews most people have offered, this is a nice place to find unique gifts and snag vegan-friendly fare. I will definitely be trying lunch sometime in the future, but for now, I have to say that Café Solstice is proof that there are many gems I’ve yet to discover in the heart of SLC.

Located in what externally appears as a factory, the smell of patchouli and good-earth crystals immediately hits your nose upon entrance in this place. The café itself is an off-shoot from the various wind chimes and folk art offered by various vendors at this indoor bazaar. In case you haven’t ascertained by now, this place is for hippies. The tacos at this place were awesome; they tasted super fresh and had this layer of cheese on the bottom. Highly recommended. The chai was pretty good though my standards are probably impossibly high given my desire for cinnamon, spice, and the other two twice. Everybody else seemed happy with their choices(Pesto Grilled Cheese, Veggie Sandwich, Rice Bowl). Service was very slow but amiable. Minus one star for the seemingly endless variations of Enya playing over the loudspeaker including the song that sounded like«Little Drummer Boy.» I annoyed the crap out of my companions by trying to sing that one on the drive home.

I enjoy the fun quirks of the Dancing Crane, but Café Solstice wasn’t what I had hoped it would be. I went in because I had a coupon for a free entrée. The café was clean. The chalkboard menu was chaotic, thank heaven they had printed menu so I could make sense of what was available. I picked the turkey pesto sandwich for $ 7ish. I asked for the order to go, which the staff happily obliged to fulfill. When I sat down, I realized how potent the incense from the Dancing Crane truly is, but didn’t irritate me as badly as some other commenters may have been. I got my turkey sandwich and left. The sandwich was made up of 3 – 4 very thinly sliced pieces of deli meat and tasted more of sesame or something Asiatic than pesto, which is what I really ordered the sandwich for. The sandwich also had greens on them which were crisp. The chips and salsa which the sandwich came with were pretty tasty and had great texture. Overall, I was disappointed with the scant sandwich that I was presented not only in size but also in taste for which I would have paid no more than $ 5. If I were to return, I would not return for the food, but would try a drink instead.

An eclectic health food café. I had a brown rice bowl and found it simple and nourishing, the basil pesto/sauce on the top was delicious. I ordered a coffee but it had a bit of an aftertaste, next time I will order a smoothie as they looked great. Lots of food options for vegetarians and people with dietary requirements. They have the Belly awards program and can have deals for free entrée’s.

Always delicious, always fresh, always friendly! I’ve enjoyed Café Solstice for coffee/tea and lunch and enjoyed the selection and variety. It’s nice to find a spot that makes healthy eating easy and flavorful. Another plus is the location, inside«Dancing Crane», which makes shopping convenient.
