It’s been years since I’ve visited Citris Grill. I’ve loved the menu, the interesting Grilled Cheese of the Day options, and the ability to choose a portion size to meet my hunger level. Father’s Day is one of those days where it’s virtually impossible to get a table at certain restaurants unless you feel like waiting for an hour and a half, so I got creative and thought outside of the box a little. I think this place has a fantastic menu(at least, I’ve always been pleased with what I’ve had!), and gave them a call before making the drive over. On Father’s Day, one of the busiest restaurant days of the year, they had no wait! This was the first time that I got to experience the brunch menu, which was perfect because I was craving bacon and eggs. I went with the Citris Breakfast, which is just your traditional eggs, meat, potatoes, and toast dish – exactly what I wanted. My eight-year-old opted for a healthier food choice and selected the fruit and yogurt from the kids’ menu. The bacon was crisp, eggs were neither too runny nor too well done, and I loved the wheat toast. Potatoes were strips, and could have been crispier, but otherwise, no complaints. I was full for the entire rest of the day! The mimosa was awesome, and the Brigham root beer that my daughter ordered was tasty, too. I was too full for a dessert this time around, but I’m dying to try the S’mores pizza next time I make it to Citris Grill. I think I’ll plan on scheduling a book club meeting here for 2017; betting my ladies will love this place just as much as I do.

Decently priced, great«little bit of everything» selection, and good portions. Try the turkey melt, brownie sundae, nachos, artichoke dip, and spinach salad. Our family loves this place!

Citrus Grill has always been a favorite although we don’t frequent often due to the distance from our home. My family took me here for a Mothers Day dinner and although the food was good the service was lacking. Our server seemed otherwise preoccupied which resulted in receiving several wrong orders as well as items ordered never served and an incorrect bill. She also reeked of stinky perfume that would leave you gasping when she’d walk by… definitely a turn off and a disappointment for my Mother’s Day dinner out with the family.

My friend and I went for a late dinner yesterday. We sat out on the patio. It was nice, outside of two patrons feeding their dogs from their plates. Our waitress was great. We started with a nice Malbec and calamari. I asked for some marinara to be served with it, as it only comes with a jalapeño artichoke tarter sauce. The calamari was great, however my marinara was ice cold. Next came our entrees. My friend got the steak salad. All of the cuts if steak were very fatty and chewy. Totally unappetizing… My shrimp salad was great but my shrimp were over cooked. My Crab, Bacon, Mac n Cheese was bland, missing crab and the«panko bread crumbs» turned out to be one single cruton… Very disappointed for our fellow dinners that sat behind us as their waiter decided to go home after taking their drink order. They were left in the lurches for a good 30 min before they were helped again. I don’t plan on returning. I miss whoever used to manage this when it was on 33rd… It was perfect back in the day…

This is one of my go-to places since it’s close by and they have one of my favorite wraps, the Southwest Chicken Wrap. I’ve tried several things on the menu but I always seem to gravitate to this wrap. The wrap includes avocado, tomatoes, corn and black bean salsa, pepper jack cheese and smoked jalopeno sauce, and chicken. My most recent takeout order was for the wrap and fries but I was quite disappointed with the fries. They were very very STALE and weren’t seasoned. C’mon Citris Grill, I know you’re better than this!

Plentiful plates! Great choices, we’d eaten here many years ago and were surprised to find it had relocated. Pleasantly surprised — décor is inviting and the restaurant is very family friendly. My strawberry avocado salad with blackened prawns was delicious, though overpoweringly spicy and salty — unnecessary on the light summer salad. I found myself taking the prawns and wiping the seasoning off of them with a napkin… this salad would have been better served with sautéed prawns with a light lemon olive oil flavor. Kids had their old favorite — Mac n cheese — nothing to write home about. It was mostly meh. Husband had the Asian marinated Steak, on a scale of 1 – 10, he rates it a 7. Ordered the artichoke spinach dip, love that we can order petite sizes — huge bonus after working in the yard all day and not wanting a heavy meal or appetizer. Dip was great, kids even loved it! I prefer more chunks of artichoke in my dip, but I settled and still enjoyed it. Wine was great Service was okay, felt rushed and as if the server Steven was put out with my whole two questions — ‘what’s the soup of the day?’ He pointed to the board which was at the back of the restaurant — I’d completely missed it. Handed us our check without asking if I wanted dessert. Seemed irritated when I asked for the menu to see the options. Apple Pecan Bread Pudding was not good — I’m a bit of a bread pudding snob… canned apples, not fresh, and the bread was all white with pieces that weren’t soaked at all, made it unappealing. Kids had the chocolate brownie sundae. Brownie was excellent, nice and moist. Portion sizes on the desserts were huge. They should consider half sizes. Overall, we would return since it’s so family friendly, and it was actually a bit better since we’d come here years ago. Greeeaaat parking situation — much better than the old location!

We stopped here for breakfast after a hike up Granduer in Mill Creek Canyon. Me and Christian got the eggless with tortilla’s and avocado. Super tasty! Mike got the Everything Stack which was huge and he raved about.(The booth seats were way uncomfortable though, sit in the tables and chairs)

Dine here occasionally, Men like the ribs. Food is ok, but tonight service was terrible w/a bad attitude! Got an order wrong, didn’t keep drinks filled(even after asking), threw straws and plates on table and the cherry on the icing on the cake was that because we were 5 adults and 2 children(lg group?) they calculated 20% tip and added it to the bill. I would have left 10%, my son told his dad to leave 5% before I even said anything. Mouths dropped open when we go the bill. Will think twice or more times before we go back. Probably won’t.

We come here all the time and have loved everything we’ve gotten. The best part is that they offer half sizes of items at nearly half price so you can get 2 different options for the same price making it a really fun place to sample different options. Their wings are really good, the buffalo chicken dip was good, I got the crab and bacon mac and cheese, it was really good, we got the mexico pizza which was really good. The ribs were really good. Pretty much everything we got was really good. If you go just get half sizes of a couple things and try a bunch it makes it really fun. The service is good. The only thing is that you should ask for a table. Their booths are super uncomfortable.

I love the number two salad at the citrus grill. I’ve been there numerous times and have never been satisfied with their service, but keep coming back because I love that salad. I went there tonight to order my favorite dish and waited an hour for my food! Waiting an hour for a small salad is unacceptable in my book. As much as I love that salad, I won’t be going back. I can learn to cook that dish myself in less than an hour.

I love this restaurant! I always get a salad and they come in two sizes. The number six is awsome! Also, most of the servers have worked there for years. Even before they moved to their new location. I like that I can go on my lunch break and sit at the bar. :)

This restaurant had a warm, hip ambience when it was located on 3300 south. Now it feels like a small town ‘pizza and everything else we can get away with’ sort of place. We were seated quickly by a hoard of employees in ill fitting, well-washed t-shirts and shorts. Daddy and I ordered quickly, but we noticed other people waiting to be waited on… For quite a while. I ordered a southwest chicken wrap with salad on the side. The salad was just spring greens with a vinaigrette and store bought croutons. Nothing special. The wrap was. Hard to eat. Literally. The chicken was so tough and stringy, It got stuck between my teeth and was hard to chew. Two more similar bites and I pulled all the chicken out so I could eat the remainder of the wrap. The resulting ‘burrito’ was… O… kay. Our waitress was lukewarm and brusque. She admitted to not liking the side soup when I asked about, and shrugged, saying that most people liked it. Hmmm… :/ Yeah, we weren’t impressed. Daddy says we got ‘squeezed’ at Citrus Grill.

I actually never had been to any of the Citris Grill locations prior to this one. They are just located at the same strip mall near the Dan’s near Olympus area on Wasatch Blvd. The place seems to keep some of the old décor from the previous pizzeria here. Then menu had a few interesting things on it, but that was it. We got some Chicken & Waffle to start, it turned out to be a few popcorn size pieces of chicken skewed together awkwardly with few pieces of waffles, and sided with cafeteria style goo-gravy. Chicken was quite dried on the inside, and gravy was quite bland like old people food. For main entrée, I got the fish taco, and the presentation was a total mess. It was more of a DIY Taco? The message to me was«we were too lazy to put your taco together, so here are the ingredients and you can do it yourself.» The tortilla was not even for taco, they were big like burrito size, so I guess they were expecting me to cut it up nicely with my bare hand too. The chef ever had a taco before? Worst of all, the fish was bland, chunky, and overcooked. This place had been nothing but disappointment for us. Service was just ok, and we got seated all the way in the back, so our waitress probably forgot to check on us. We ended up leaving hungry after the meal because of not being able to stomach the grossly prepared food.

Love the citrus grill! Don’t let the fact that this place is in a shopping mall scare you away. They have a great casual atmosphere and awesome variety of café like options. I had a mahi sandwhich on focaccia bread with a cucumber spread and it was amazing! The fries are excellent too. My boyfriend had the bbq burger with bacon and he loved the bbq sauce. Lots of other options including salad and pizza.

We live in the area and this is one of our favorite restaurants in Salt Lake City. They have many excellent dishes – almost everyone I know loves the Southwest Chicken Wrap – and few misses. I also really enjoy the Pizza One, BBQ Burger, Sesame Seared Salmon, and the Chocolate Brownie Sundae or Grandma’s Carrot Cake, to name a handful more. Some of our family members and friends from distant locations in the valley now travel out to visit this restaurant on their own after we have taken them there. Their employees are wonderful, as is the service. The building is a bit of a dive and could use a small remodel(if only some reprinting) and new lighting, but certainly not going to dock a star for that. — - - Some have commented on the booths at their new location. They can be uncomfortable. And the entrance. It is a puzzle you will solve in seconds and I’m sincerely surprised some people have actually deducted stars for this reason. Overall, the move is an improvement. Far better parking, better lighting, more space, you’re less likely to have a wait before being seated.

I have always liked Citrus Grill’s food. I like the option of a petite portion or full. The pizzas are always tasty and the artichoke dip is addicting. That being said, the new location has a confusing entry way. Also the hostess stand needs help, there isn’t really one. The space still looks like the old pizza shop but with a little industrial added to it. It’s a dark space but sit close to the west windows and you will see the light. Something that has always been an issue even at the old location is service. It’s either hit or miss. I shouldn’t have to ask the hostess if we have a server nor should my water get to ice cubes. Hopefully they work on this. Prices are reasonable.

Citris Grill has a large menu they offer many specials and menu items are a fair price. We tried the burger special a pizza burger, it’s a lot of meat said the server she wasn’t joking. They also have a grilled cheese of the day kind of a cool idea. It tempted me but I ended up doing a salad that had sugared pecans and goat cheese. This is a great addition to Olympus Hills shopping center.

I’ve eaten at Citris Grill many, many times over the last 8 years and never had anything I disliked. Their southwest chicken wrap, house soup and Citris salad w/blackened salmon are my favorites. Their artichoke dip, while not a traditional recipe, is very flavorful. Brunch is always a treat at Citris Grill. Their #3 scramble(spinach & feta) and a mimosa is a great way to start a Sunday. They have a good beer selection and a much better wine selection than other restaurants I’ve been to of the same caliber. The only complaint I have about the restaurant is their booths at the new location on Wasatch. The booth seats are so short you almost fall into them. Play it safe and ask for a regular table or tall boy, both are more comfortable.

I really want to give this place more stars. After several times trying Citrus Grill I just can’t. My husband and I went to eat dinner at citrus grill tonight and had a pretty bad experience. The entry was super weird. Garbage bins spilling over, open kitchen with cooks giving me the«hey baby» look. The food was the embodiment of «I don’t give a crap how this turns out, just slop it on a plate«. My husband got the«grilled cheese» which was toast with cold, unmelted shredded cheese in between them. I had the greek pizza which tasted like playdough and onions. I have had better food the other times we have been, but nothing to write home about.

I have long considered Citris Grill a solid 4-star restaurant. Their menu really hasn’t changed in the decade or so that I’ve been eating there, but it really didn’t need changing. They offer daily specials, so you can always try something new if you need to. The grilled cheese is a cool idea and it changes each day. The best thing about the food here is consistency. It’s always really good. I’ve never had a bad meal at Citris and I’ve probably eaten here at least 3 dozen times. And the prices are fantastic, for the quality and quantity of food they give you. The only thing keeping it from being a 5-star resto was the setting. The parking was horrendous and the place was basically a square box. Décor was fine and ambiance was okay… just not awesome. That has all been fixed! The new location rocks! There is ample parking now, with stalls large enough that you won’t get door dings from the d-bag who parked next to you and didn’t give a crap about your paint job. The space is cool and there are some nooks and crannies to provide a bit more dining intimacy. The service is always somewhere between good and great at Citris. This neighborhood deserves another good place to sit down, eat, and have a few beers. Now it has one!

The entrance is kind of a maze that goes past the kitchen. There wasn’t a check-in area so we wandered around until two people said they would seat us. We asked for a booth but were directed to a table because the hostess said the booth benches are low. ?! We asked for a booth again and were finally seated. The drink boards were partially rolled over the daily specials menu so my husband moved them. The waiter didn’t tell us about the specials – just asked for our orders. I got the apple and Brie grilled cheese with sweet potato corn chowder. My hubby ordered the beef tenderloin with bacon Gorgonzola sauce, mashed potatoes and grilled veggies. It was supposed to be cooked to medium temperature, but it was quite rare. Another maze getting out of the restaurant. But at least there is plenty of parking at this location.

New location, but a lot of the same troubles persisted. Read my old review of the former place on 3300 S. for more on that: This place seems to like darkness and if that’s not your thing, try to get the West-facing windows, which offer kind of a neat view of the other side of town. It also has those water-pipes-as-conduit sort of light fixtures, which I’m not in love with here. Lots of wood for the décor, which makes me wonder if they intentionally don’t want people to feel comfortable while here. Given that I was looking for a comfortable place to relax, this failed miserably here, though I did like the working fireplace… if it was actually cold when I was there, I probably would have liked it more. The salmon plate I had came with green sections of diced tomatoes, which was as unappetizing as it could be. Capers were tiny and a bit tasteless and the salmon portion was a bit light for all the other stuff on the plate. Cream cheese came as a solid brick, which made applying it to the little pizza-sections overly a challenge. This is sort of a poorly conceived dish, in terms of portions. Coke Zero mix was off. My wife had some sort of burger, which also was unappealing in appearance and bland in taste. I had one of the stacks, which was French toast, undercooked potato shavings, some of the worst gravy I’ve had the misfortune of tasting, complete with squares(huh?) of what I assume to be sausage, acceptable bacon and ham and cheese. This time they didn’t do as well on the eggs, only cooking one of the 3 correctly. So while the new space is a lot larger than before, all that empty space just looks emptier when the place is under capacity, such as this visit. It is an upgrade visually, but the kitchen misfires make me strongly question whether or not I’ll be returning after this, which was basically their second chance.
