Amazing. I asked for a vegan sandwich and they made a really good custom one. Also it’s a cool space for a sandwich shop. Probably one of the best sandwiches I been.

Great friendly staff, great ownership, great food! Breakfast is the bomb! I work nearby and it’s a blessing to have around to save my guts from fast food. TONS of items on the menu, there’s something for everyone.

I got a salad and was impressed with the quality. Everyone at the table was impressed with the quality and portion sizes of the food. For what it is, this is better than what I assumed it would be walking in. Staff was polite and helpful.

I went in on Thursday morning at 9:10am. I’m live in NYC so I expected a similar sort of service. There was a VERY strong armpit smell throughout the entire restaurant as I walked in. I ordered a bagel and the guy grabbed the the Swiss cheese with his bare hands and went to the back. Ok whatever no biggie. 10 minutes later my bagel is still not ready mind you I am the only customer in the restaurant. I ask one of the other works kindly«do you know if my bagel is almost done? I’m in a rush and have to leave». By that time it was 9:26. He said«it’s being made». And I said, ok but is it almost done? And he says«I DONTKNOWHE’S MAKINGIT». Super rude. Don’t know why it should take 12 minutes to make a bagel. Didn’t have to be so rude. Bad service Not clean TERRIBLE smell Definitely won’t be returning.

GREAT place when you’re in SLC and want to feel like being transported to NYC. This place is run by some East Coasters, and the food is definitely flavorful and priced right for something you can’t get in the Salt Lake area. Anywho — don’t take my word for it, go try it! I think the best sandwich to get is their specialties. If you don’t know what, just ask one of the friendly employees who will help guide you in the right direction. :D

I had a Rockefeller Ruben today. Excellent. Plenty of tender meat. Sauerkraut added just the right amount of zing. Rye bread was very good. Service was excellent. The sandwich maker even seemed excited to get to make one. Overall I was very pleased. The sandwich(with tax) was exactly $ 7.00 After I ate the whole thing I was glad I didn’t get any sides or chips. It filled me up(and then some).

This is a good sandwich place. The reason it deserves 5 stars is because of the impeccable service. They know how to treat their customers. And they are never skimpy on the meat.

Gandalfo’s has the best sandwiches in the whole city, their menu is filled with every sandwich that you could want and each one is delicious. The customer service is superb and its a great place to eat

This place was recommended by a gentleman at Wells Fargo. The way he described the Urban Cowboy was out of this world. Let me start off my saying the food was awesome. Truly my only problem was the amount of time I had to wait. I will come back in to have some more great sandwichs when I’m passing through!

I have been coming to these sandwich shops for 16 plus years now. And honestly I can say they are always consistent and have great food. I love the side salad options they offer. Usually different every day with a few that are always available. And you cannot go wrong with any sando. I always love going for the specialty chicken ones. Always freshly made and delicious.

I went in here expecting to pay $ 4 for a half sandwich. it was closerto $ 6.50… minus 1 star for being so expensive minus 1 star because my bread was soggy. They have A LOT of choices so you there is probably something you’d like here. So I ordered the New York Liberty, a mushroom pastrami sandwich. After seeing the price, I expected to see a gigantic half sandwich but I was presented with this tiny little wrapped sandwich. It wasn’t given in a bag, just the sandwich. wrapped which made it look even smaller. A whole sandwich is over $ 10! What a rip. minus another star for being so expensive

Not sure I would highly recommend this place. I know a bunch if my male co workers love it. It’s pretty dirty, kinda old school diner type feel. I got an Italian sub and the meat was packed on but really not that great of quality. We waited probably ten minutes at an empty counter before even placing our order in what seemed like a fairly empty restaurant. I would say it’s a hit or miss type of place but I wouldn’t ever suggest it

I discovered this place in 1997 and i eat here usualy once a week, ive went through the entire menu and every sandwich is delicious! Fresh bread veggies and meat like subway on steroids these sandwiches have way more meat and taste amazing! The sides are killer especialy the bow tie pasta and ranch tortelini. Ive turned all my coworkers onto gandolphos, but beware of the other franchise locations the food and service is nowhere near the quality of the downtown store.

There’s something about Salt Lake and pastrami. We seem to crave it, yet it almost never gets prepared right. Either improper curing, or simply not the right quantity(particularly at most of the burger joints around that like to serve«pastrami burgers»). Gandolfo’s knows a good pastrami sandwich. When I got my «knuckle dragger,» I thought«oh, they gave me a whole sandwich after I ordered a half.» Nope. The sandwiches are just that big. I was completely full after finishing my ½ and side. And it takes a lot of sandwich to fill me up. With a wide variety of breads, authentic sides, and some of the friendliest staff I can think of(they really try to learn your name if you’re a repeat customer), I’m proud to eat my pastrami here. Oh, and they have egg & cheese on a Kaiser roll for breakfast – one of the things my wife misses most about NYC. She reports that they’re delicious and authentic, too.

I like this place. The inside is a bit… rough(it’s in an old coffee shop). Sandwiches are really good. They really heap on the meat and toppings, and usually I get mine heated up. The dudes that work behind the counter are really cool guys, and remember your name when you come in. It’s not fancy, but the sandwiches are filling and priced right.

Few Gandolfo’s locations are true to the Gandolfo’s level of quality. This location does it right. I usually just come for the breakfast sandwiches, the Harlem is the way to go. So hearty and yummy. I hope this location does well and stays around. It’d be a shame if it didn’t do well. A true Utah special.

No other place in salt lake knows sandwiches like this Gandolpho’s. Their customer service is top notch. They know most of their customers by name because most are log time repeat customers. For the guys at Gandolphos, your sandwich is a piece of art customized to your specific needs. They get to know you and what you like. If it’s your first time in you can still get exactly what you like because every one who works there knows the large selection inside out. ***** ! Five stars for sure. The sandwiches are big enough with loads of toppings, that I usually eat half now and save half for later. If you can’t get a sandwich you love at Gandolpho’s, it doesn’t exist. Bön appetite!

This place is like a little hidden gem. I had no idea it was even there until someone told me about it! So happy to have found it! I would have given this place five stars if it weren’t for the bathroom sketchiness I encountered. No paper towels. It was one of those rotating cloth dealies that just seems rank with bacteria to me. The bathroom was also very old school and kinda dirty. EWW. I think this place is in serious need of an Interior Designer. However, THESANDWICH! OHMYGOD, THESANDWICH! I had the Little Italy and the guy suggested adding pepperoncinis to it which was an excellent idea. The 6″ sandwich was HUGE to me and totally full of lots of meat. Which was glorious to behold. This just makes Subway sandwiches seem like small potatoes compared to how much meat and deliciousness that was in this thing. I probably shouldn’t have eaten it all… oh but I did. Every last bite. It was so good and packed full of flavor. I absolutely will be going back there. Just not to their bathrooms.

Solid sandwiches. Pretty thick in toppings and tasty too. Great lunch spot that I take out of.
