Blue Star just started serving a dinner, beer and wine menu. I tried the Mango Chutney and it was great. It was a perfect size and tasted great. It was nice having a cold beer with the meal. The other food items look great for dinner.

Spent $ 7.50 on a 16 oz juice(8.50 with tip) and sat in their drive thru for 10 minutes to wait for it. When they finally got it out to me, they were very rude and unapologetic. I don’t know if they were busy inside, but the point of a drive thru is it is supposed to be quicker which was definitely not the case.

Delicious freshly made juices! Im excited to try the food next time, it looked amazing and my mouth was instantly watering. I got one of the green drinks and it was delish. You have to try this place!

The juice was good, after waiting patiently for thirty minutes for my order of sandwich, we asked the staff about it and they had forgot about my order. The place was not busy at all. The sandwich was bland.

A beautiful lady introduced me to Tanner Park for the first time and it happened to be the first day of spring. I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day. We had worked up our appetite and stopped here afterwards. I got the Garden of Eden on sprouted wheat bread and the detox juice. It was incredibly refreshing. In one of the back rooms a group of people were playing live acoustic music and it was quite breathtaking. Great experience.

The staff were not very friendly and the food was kind of bland. The juice was good but nothing worth getting too excited over.

We were in town for Outdoor Retailer and had rented an Airbnb a few blocks away from Blue Star. The entrance to 80 is a stone’s throw away so we decided on morning number three, after some sub-par coffee at Salt Palace Convention Center to give it a shot. And it was one of the best food moves last week in SLC because we ended up going the next two mornings as well. The staff was incredibly friendly. The breakfast sandwiches(tried the Southwest and Med.) incredibly good. The coffee, check. And these comments were echoed by our entire team of four. The last morning before driving back to Chicago, we made one final stop and was the perfect finish to our trip. We smelled a really strong fresh coffee scent outside the store. After ordering the usual, Danielle suggested we head to the back where George(owner) was actually roasting fresh coffee. After walking in the backroom and saying hello, George proceeded to walk us through the entire coffee process and answer our 30 questions on the process; felt like I was in a Food Channel TV show. Afterwards, he bagged up some freshly roasted beans and off to Chicago we drove. As far as I’m concerned this place is the best in SLC. Get off Unilocal/Tripadvisor and go see George, Danielle and team at Blue Star, you won’t regret it.

Went back after my previous review and was a little skeptical. But, the owner is right. Things were a lot different inside, more seating, a bit of a different menu and the food came out quicker and was delicious. And the staff was super friendly, and they were listening to Hooray For The Riff Raff so they get bonus points for that, too. :)

I like stopping here on the way out of town. This location is right by a highway exit and the food is so easily eatable in the car. Because everything is fresh it takes a few minutes to make so be prepared. I think all of this makes for great road trip food.

Pricey, and unfortunately I couldn’t get a smile or eye contact from anyone working here. The juice was good, unfortunately the staff seemed so indifferent about a customer I won’t be back.

Good coffee, good juice. What about the sandwiches? Yep, they’re good too. Over the years, Blue Star has improved a great deal and now, they brew their own coffee! If you’re local, this is fantastic to walk up and enjoy a snack away from the usual over-processed offerings along 2100 South. If you’re passing through or headed up to ski, this is a sure stop to satisfy that pre-jump hunger. Healthy options, sourced locally and friendly smiles. I’ve come here on busy days or ordered right from the drive-thru. Each time I enjoy it, a lot.

Fresh juices made to order with tasty, healthy food options? Yesss… There’s a drive-thru, to boot, and offering complimentary treats to my pup was a big win for the entire family.

I was really disappointed with Blue Star. I appreciated the ability to have dogs on the padio and I was impressed with the kindess and courtesy of the staff. My disappointment however is in regards to how long it took for my breakfast(20 minutes) and once it arrived the food was bland and burned. Hopefully it was just a fluke but I more than likely won’t be returning.

Blue Star has never let me down with coffee, juice or food. The thing that sets Blue Star apart is the friendly atmosphere and neighborhood feel. It is a great place to take a deep breath and enjoy the environment. I’m excited about the new food menu items.

Stopped by here to get some breakfast after dropping off my dog at the groomers. They have great bagel sandwiches and I love the juice bar.

I really like this place! Whether you feel like a breakfast bagel or a tasty, fresh, and squeezed on the spot juice then this Is the place for you. I really like the egg and cheese bagel, and as far as juice the glow is my all time favorite! Good food, great service, and freshly made!

I want to love Blue Star. I really do. Theoretically, it is the perfect place. In reality, it is so far from perfect. First of all, from the moment you walk in, you can feel their hatred. These people do not like their customers. They despise you. They can’t believe you have the audacity to walk in there and ask them to make you something. They are put out by having to serve you. If you have a nose ring or a tattoo maybe you’ll get better treatment.(Edited: your tattoo must be visible – mine is not). But if you’re a normal lady(maybe even a, gasp, soccer mom) they will literally look at you like you just stumbled in from Mars. The juice is warm, the proportions aren’t quite right, their hygiene could use some help and it is the most expensive juice place I’ve ever been to. Not going back.

Very simple menu with a decent amount of choices for juicing. I like that they offer bagels and other types of food as well. Only one star off as I am used to having more set choices for so if they expanded the house favorites section.

My husband and I had a hankering for breakfast sandwhiches this morning, but we weren’t in the mood for a chain place like Einstein. Blue Star had good reviews so we decided to pick up a couple of bagel sandwhiches. They were SO mediocre. Einstein honestly has much better sandwhiches, which says a lot because I’m really not a huge fan of theirs. The cheese on my sandwich didn’t even melt a little, which is a HUGE pet peeve of mine. I had to microwave it when I got home. These pretty much tasted like the bagel sandwhiches at McDonald’s(aside from the fact that Blue Star uses real egg). Maybe this place is known for their coffee and juices, but based on their lack of ability to make even a halfway decent bagel sandwhich, we definitely won’t be returning.

Blue star, you lose 2 stars and drop from 4 to a disappointing 2 for these reasons: RUDE lady at the drive through. Is she the owner? Who is the nasty lady!!! Where are all the kind souls I use to see and be greeted by?! No longer allowing food orders in the drive through?! There goes your morning commuters. Not a good business decision at all. Boo. Oh…and half the menu is gone. Such a shame…

This is our FAVORITE coffee place in Utah. We have searched across the entire Salt Lake Valley for our favorite coffee place and Blue Star currently holds the title. It’s a bit out of the way, but worth the drive. First off, the coffee is first rate. Do you know how hard it is to find a decaf that doesn’t taste like chemicals? This place does decaf right, so you know their regular is going to be pretty kick ass. Also, they just happen to juice everything right in front of you. Nothing from concentrate. If you are feeling a little under the weather may I recommend the Detox? It is glorious and good for whatever ails you. No need to bother with those other pretentious coffee joints, Blue Star is all the quality without the fluff.

Great coffee but the real deal are the fresh-squeezes juices. I shied away from them(or their $ 5 – 6 price tags) long enough but after trying their orange-grapefruit — frothy, no ice(a cheap filler anyway), «I just watched the baristas slicing the fruit» fresh — I can almost never go back to just coffee here. Lots of exotic mixes too(you can add anything on their list — even jalapeños!) Wish it was a little more affordable so I could come more often but I get why they’re priced the way they are. Be prepared to wait for a while for the juices though(sometimes upwards of 10 min) as they are time-consuming for the workers. Well worth the wait. Good service but sometimes not super-friendly. Lots of seating, good food too, hardly any outlets though so bring an extension cord or make sure your electronics are charged. Insider tip: In the winter park across the street in the overflow lot(NOT the lot right in front of the shop) or you will probably get stuck slipping around in the ice on the slope of the lot and have to be pushed out.

I had the Sharon Jones juice and it was fresh and delicious. I had the Millcreek bagel sandwich and loved it as well. I just wished they would have cut it in half, so maybe request it? Overall a fresh and yummy experience.

Oh BlueStar juice, how I love thee… But I can’t decide as to which juice I love more: the Cobra or Super Green? The woman at the counter really whipped me into a frenzy yesterday when she told me that my Cobra wouldn’t be «as red as usual» because she was using the last of the organic beets from the farmers market. Yes, please! Oh, and I love a punch-card system. Although I never seem to have a card with me when I go and end up starting a new one. I currently have 3 cards with 2, 3, and 6 punches, respectively. Each in a different coat pocket.

The coffee and juice are amazing. They reorganized the inside to create more seating. It’s not cramped though. Just has more places to sit. The service is always wonderful. They hire people who are friendly and personable. I really enjoy coming inside so I rarely go through the drive thru. Sadly, due to irresponsible dog owners not watching their animals and allowing them to wander behind the food counter… dogs are no longer allowed inside at Blue Star. But the deck is still a great place to relax with your furry friends and the jar of dog bones still lives behind the counter. Train and ensure your dogs behave people!

Their juices are awesome. Try the Glow. It’s a little coffee shop on the corner right before the highway exit. It’s where I always stop to grab a coffee before taking my dog over to Tanner Park. It also seems to be a hot spot for students to study in the back.
