The bacon man!!! The bacon!!! Smokey and as tasty as the day is long!!! This pie was one for the record books!!! The 760 mile drive from the valley of the sun was well worth it!!! Add a polygamy porter and you just made your whole freaking night !!!

The pizza crust is too thick. Don’t like it when you take a bite that cheese kind of pulls everything off. I would rather eat Little Caesars than this place again.

Pie has the best pizza and salad. The Greek pizza is fantastic. The atmosphere is great-we always make sure we take time to eat at Pie when in town and sometimes we come to town just to eat at Pie.

Very filling and delicious. I recommend the Wise Guy Pizza, Meat Lovers, Ultimate Veggie & their Buffalo chicken. All really tasty! Only downside is that delivery can take a while, so order in advance.

One of the best pizzerias in the state of Utah. The don’t skimp on toppings, and the crust is great. The style is probably a mix between Chicago and New York. The only downside at all is that will all that cheese, it’s a little on the heavy side, but ahhh, it’s so good. Warning, the 23″ giant with lots of toppings will give your arm a workout, especially if you’re trying to carry two and get through a door.

The Pie is a Utah institution, and their reputation is well deserved. They can make a fantastic pizza. I find that the Stromboli, their signature pie, is vastly overrated, and prefer other combinations. It’s not hard to to find other combinations, since their selection of toppings is almost without compare. Some of their other specialty pies are excellent, with the Godfather, and the Shitake mushroom among my favorites. One of my all time favorites is a creation a buddy came up with, which is simply breakfast bacon and smoked Gouda. The combination is sublime. The pie can do almost anything you can think up, and they do it with style and quality. Highly recommended.

We ordered the 16inch Wise Guy, it does surprise me with the taste. Normally I won’t eat artichokes but in this pizza I just like it. Great topping mix. The dough is chewy and definitely filling. Great job guys! Now if every night we have the weekend crowd, it would be awesome. Too bad the snow kept some people away. Maybe you could have a corner with better lights, so the photos comes out nicer. You know we Asians want photos of the food before we eat them right?!

I haven’t been here since say 2006. Last night we went back. Their pizza is so dense I felt like I had lifted weights when I carried it to the table. We made our own combo and I had a side salad. It was pretty basic and had too much dressing. I love the staff they are so chill and relaxed I felt like if Jamaica was cold I was there. The pizza is really delicious the next day too. A great place to hang out if you have business or events near the U.

Open late! Love it. The pizza was good, not the best I’ve had out here but very good. I do love the freshness of ingredients. Enjoyed my time eating here, good atmosphere. The only downside was constantly having to move/get up for other parties. Not a big place.

This place has two things that I love. Good food and a fun environment. The pizzas are so damn good. And the atmosphere is fun and energetic. I like places like that. They got good salads as well. Great place to meet up with friends and have some good food. Also a good place to watch some games.

So… This place has many many many 5 stars and I do think they are pretty top notch, I didn’t give it 5 stars. Here’s my pro’s and con’s. Super, super, super nice people! Full of college kids, and its a very small basement room. The space is certainly tight and with how busy they are it’s super loud and hot. However, they do a very good job of the space they have. They call your order on a speaker that doesn’t work well; therefore, it hard to tell with the noice and that speaker if its your meal or not. Because they are so successfull and busy it took about an hour to get my pizza. The walls have years of writing all over them… that’s pretty awesome. Now to the food: If you get water as for it specifically when you order your pie. It took 30 minutes to get water. The cheese pull apart’s, which was a large potion for $ 7, wasn’t near as good as I felt the Unilocal reviews made it seem, but it was me and 3 others, against several other people, so obviously it’s about personal choice. The pizza, however, was super epic. Haven’t had pizza this good… ever! My one complaint, which is no fault of this establishment, was the cheese was so much it was hard to chew and I almost choked, but that’s my fault for taking such a large bite of this yummy pizza. I got the Pie’s, which is like a combination. YUMMYYYYYYYYY and not as greasy as I thought it would be reading reviews. Overall, mostly college kids, but some older people, too. I went in on a Friday traveling through with my two teenage daughters and boyfriend and it was very appropriate. Certainly worth the money, time, and heated body temperature.

I came here on the recommendation of a friend, he is a local so it was a no-brainer. It has a funky dive vibe to it. The staff was friendly and patient with this tourist and answered all my questions with a smile. I had ordered a 12″ Chicken Ranch, which according to the menu on the wall as you walk in is — Our special Garlic Ranch Sauce topped with seasoned oven roasted Chicken Breast, Crisp Bacon, Tomatoes, Onions, Sharp Cheddar, and Mozzarella Cheese. All I can say is I agree with most of the other reviews — this pizza is hearty and tasty. No light-weight pizza here! I just finished up the leftovers for dinner this evening — just as good reheated as fresh from the oven!

The Pie offers our absolute favorite pizza in Salt Lake CIty. It is very«heavy». There are lots of classics or different offerings for those who like to try something new. We like the buffalo chicken pizza. The ambience brings you back to your college days. Fantastic.

Let me preface this by saying I am originally from Chicago, so I have an idea of what REAL pizza is supposed to be. Having said that, I ordered the Pie’s Combo from Pie Pizzeria on the recommendation from a friend who went to University of Utah for his graduate degree. I had the pizza delivered(had to watch MNF at the hotel), and it was delivered within 40 minutes. When it arrived, I opened the box only to find a mountain full of toppings! When I went to pull the first slice, the stringiness of the cheese looked like something out of a commercial(keep in mind, this was delivery and not dine-in). When I tasted it, I have to admit that it was THEBEST pizza I have ever had(outside of Chicago). If Michael Jordan would’ve tasted this pizza before playing the Utah Jazz in the finals, he may have allowed a Game 7 simply out of respect for Pie Pizzeria. Well done guys… you have a customer for life!

As a highschooler, my friends and I would travel to SLC to buy records, go to clubs etc. The night usually ended with a visit to The Pie. Back then the environment was a bit dicey: punk kids, metal heads, dope fiends, no heat(you could slip on the icy floor if you weren’t careful) and the smoking section was divided by an invisible line down the middle of the restaurant. It was a total dive, but the pizza(and diverse jukebox) made everything worth it. Since the mid-90s, The Pie has become more family friendly(the first time I saw a clean cut couple and their kids there shocked me), the health code violations not so much, but the menu has never changed. The food is consistently delicious, decadent and filling(!!!) It is comfort food. If Anthony Bourdain came to town, this would be the pizza — or Zappi — I would introduce him to. My point is that if you base your dining experience on ambience, you should still check that at the door(family friendly doesn’t mean four-star service — and who expects that from a pizza joint?) The Pie is all about the food, which will not disappoint unless you hate lots of cheese and tons of toppings. If you do hate those things, The Pie has a bunch of crust and sauce and themed options. If you don’t like any of those, you are probably doing it wrong.

Lovely place deserving all the great reviews! We had a «wise guy» pizza on a thin crust(the one with basilic, roasted chicken and loooooads of tomatoes). No guilt after consuming such an awesome pizza:) will definitely be back! It may be too student-like place for some, but the pizza is definitely worth it!

Good old fashioned fatass pizzas. Loads of quality toppings on a medium-thick crust with a sweet/zesty marinara. Order any pizza you like, it’s all good. Calazones? Not so much. Chicken wings? Straight nasty. But the pizza! Lord lift me up on thy flabby underarm wings of pizza borne obesity! Seriously, according to AMEX I spent almost $ 400 on The Pie last year. Kick in for a pilates class or something eh? I personally prefer the Pie’s Combo above all others. Two slices eat like a big meal; it’s packed with chunky meats and veges. This pie also holds up great in the fridge, and makes a great cold breakfast. Chedda PullAparts are to breadsticks as soft and chewy friggin’ delicious cheesy sticks are to stalks of celery. Perfect amount of salt and a nice sharp parmesean crust. Staff are friendly. Never had a negative interaction in my 20+ visits. They are quick without being rude, and always seem happy to see you. I also like how they show you the pizzas before you take them; it shows they stand behind their product and want you to be happy with what you’ve ordered. It also lets you call foul if something has gone awry. A little more time on the wings. Really, stay away from these blobby, flavorless lumps of grade C meat slathered in out-of-the-jar hot sauce. Pizza Hut does much better wings, which is sad. But hell, it’s called«The Pie,» ain’t no thing but a chicken wing.

We love The Pie so much — some of our favorite pizza in Utah — but once we actually ate in the restaurant(this location — the other location is the pickup-only) I liked it a teeny-tiny bit less. The pizza is amazing. They are made-to-order giant pies with that lusciously thick crust and endless amounts of cheese. It really is our favorite pizza in SLC. The restaurant, though? It’s crowded, loud, dark, and honestly, a little gross. Located in the basement beneath the pharmacy by the U of U, you walk down grungy stairs that are not a far stretch from an ideal location for a homeless person to camp out in. Inside, the walls are exposed brick and have graffiti all over them, but also the occasional old gum wad stuck to it… pretty sure nobody ever cleans these walls(how could you?) and sitting right next to them is gross. The restrooms are cramped and not very clean. You order your pizza at the counter, which is fine enough. Finding a table was rough — we crammed 6 of us at a table for 4 — not a good place for groups unless you’re feeling up to a challenge. The pizzas took awhile to come out and you pick them up at the window — no table service. The trick to getting drink refills is walking up to the kitchen and just asking. Next time we will just order pickup again and enjoy in our nice, clean house. Or even just across the street on the grassy lawn at the U.

Went here with family and loved it. The large salad was huge. It was enough for 10 people if not more. The ranch was awesome. The cheesy pull aparts we were delicious. The kids especially loved them. Perfect crisp and seasoning like a pizza meets a mozzarella stick. We got the giant pizza(16 slices), the pie’s combo. It was huge. Very generous toppings and tons of cheese. Most adults in our group were satisfied with 1 – 2 pieces. Great flavored crust, hint of garlic. Way to go, awesome place and we will be back. Your order when you walk in and then they deliver at the counter for pick up.
