We happened to stay at the Black Bart Inn in San andreas Ca. On valentine weekend. Just passing through but we came up on a jewel.
We not only stayed at the Inn but we also ate at the restaurant by the same name.
Apparently the restaurant has not been open for one year prior to tonight. The locals that we talked to seemed very enthusiastic about the reopening of the restaurant.
Not only was the room clean and clean smelling but the front desk was very accommodating for a special request.
The food in the restaurant was quite good the salmon and the New York steak were cooked to perfection. The chocolate mousse was light yet rich just as it should be.
We will definitely be back!

It’s been a couple years since I’ve been here, but I was sorely disappointed. Everything about it was dated, bland, and dreary, including the food. Wine was, however, only 4 bucks for a generous pour of – OK, not great – but certainly drinkable red. Not sure whether it’s changed at all since I was there, but I haven’t heard anything good about it.

We are excited about Black Bart Restaurant. The Chef there is a guy named Myron who we have been following from restaurant to restaurant for the past 20 years. AND NOW HE IS IN OUR TOWN! The food is excellent and the wait staff is friendly and competent. In addition, if you enjoy having a drink in a classy bar, this is a place to visit… and come back again and again.
