Outstanding food and extremely attentive service. I had what was a «combo» plate, and I was overwhelmed! Dessert was tremendous — chocolate cake with flan. Coffee could be stronger.

Talk about false advertisement. I had to double check if I had the right place once I got my food. I’m not sure what happened but it was not worth it. Everyone’s photos did not match the menu whatsoever. Not coming back that’s for sure.

Expected better food from this place. I use to go to their previous location on west ave, they had a very small business inside their apartment their tacos al vapor were fresh and delicious but now their disgusting i almost threw up on the first bite. The only reason im giving it a 3 star is because the chilito relleno tacos were good, but still disappointed if they continue like this they wiil go down hill quickly. Wont be coming back will take my business across the street to QUETORTAS restaurant is much better.

not a lot to say other than good, cheap food served fast! That’s about all you can ask for short of fine dining.

First impressions coming into the restaurant was that it was small but clean. We got to sit wherever we wanted and the server brought us chips and salsa. The chips were warm and perfectly salted. The salsa was chilled and was flavorful. I ordered the enchilada verde and my son ordered the chicken fajita plate. Both dishes seemed freshly prepared and were well seasoned. The retried beans and rice were also good as well. The total bill came out to less than $ 15 for both of us and we both left stuffed. Will be returning!

We decided to order take out. We got chile con queso which was clumpy nasty cheese and no meat and a burrito that was okay. This was the second time the food was terrible. You would think a small restaurant like this would want to keep their customers and serve better quality food. I will not be returning.

Where to start… I was in San Antonio visiting friends who were literally moving in town today. With no frame of reference to know where to go I searched trusty Unilocal for a Mexican restaurant. 4 ½ stars, we’re good to go with that right? We pull up to a «restaurant» which looks like a tiny one bedroom house. We debate about going in at all. We decide it’s a trip, let’s not act like we’re at home, let’s try something we maybe normally wouldn’t. This restaurant was tiny… like tiny. My fiancé is a big guy, 6’4300lbs, he says he didn’t feel awkward there but he looked like king Kong in a closet. Didn’t hit the bathroom; but, my friend did and she said they were like closets. Fine, whatever, good things come in small, hot, slightly shady looking packages sometimes… right? They bring chips and salsa, hard to miss with that right? Chip recipe? Take chips out of bag, leave out until stale and chewy, serve! Salsa wasn’t actually salsa, onions and peppers and cilantro mixed, we. Then she actually brings us salsa… in squeeze bottles, fine. If you like it hot, they were, don’t ask about the flavor, don’t even. We order. The guys, being guys, order pretty authentic food. Us girls go safe, fajitas and chicken fried chicken, hard to mess those up right? Now my fiancé will usually eat all of his dinner and half of mine. His plate was left half full, enough said there. My other friend had to have me try their enchiladas to see if I also felt they were sour… literally. My friends chicken fried chicken was served with no gravy, like they don’t have it, it’s not an option. Weird. It was burnt, mashed potatoes were ICECOLD. Sent it back, ordered bean and cheese tacos instead. Fajitas had an interesting flavor but were served mostly raw, beans were inedebile… not sure what the flavor was. We won’t mention the fact three of us were served while the fourth one waited another ten minutes… ducking classy there. Finally we just decide to leave. My friend never got her tacos after thirty minutes. Another family was leaving because after that long of a wait they hadn’t even seen food. Terrible place, kinda dirty, really slow, save yourself!

Rarely do I give a negative comment but this is based on business principals. If you’re going to state open until 3pm on Sunday, closing and locking the door at 2:30 or earlier is not ideal practices. If I come back I will update rating on how the food was.

This place is tucked into a strip center on the corner of Eckert and Bandera Rd. I don’t know if I would call it a restaurant. It is small and has enough seating for about 40– 50 people. Not much of a crowd. I got there around lunch time and there was never more than 10 people there. I ordered the Mexican plate. Turned out to be pretty good. Enchiladas were made with creamy enchilada sauce and red tortillas. Crispy taco was good. Filling was seasoned well. Rice and beans were great. Flour tortillas were very good. Hand made. Service was good. This a great place to grab a quick meal if you’re in the area. I’ll have to return to try breakfast which I hear is very good.

First let me take a deep breath… I usually eat at odd times so let’s just base my review of this place at 4:40pm. I’m here by-myself and as I walked in a bearded guy with no smile says to me. Here to eat? I said yes. Wow !! What an impression. He then walks over to me drops a menu and says what do you want to drink? No suggestive selling. So I say water. I try to read the menu but it’s hard to gaze over everything on the menu do to one style of cursive print. I’d say was a monotone menu. Now for the juice! I ordered the fajitas for one. Fajitas came out on a sizzling plate and smelled good. But then the tortillas were hard and bland. What a waste. Good fajitas bad torts. The side fixings all good. Then the bearded waiter came over to me and I told him about my stiff torts. He did bring me out fresher tortillas and sounded like he wanted to agree with me about the bad torts but stop short to say he’s just a waiter. So heres my break down: good food, soso torts with not so thrilling service. Might return because of the fajitas.

My new favorite Mexican restaurant, good food, good atmosphere, and great service. Prices are low and and quality is high, they call the regulars by name when they walk in and ask if they want the usual, it’s a great place to be!

Taste Chef Joey’s passion! The food speaks for its self and the service was very good(Joe you are awesome!). Yes, there are thousands of Mexican style food places throughout San Antonio. However, this resturant deserves a true look… WHY!?! Well, it has several of the things that I look for in a completely legit resturant that knows what it does best and sticks to it! The Food: Tried several of the breakfast and lunch/dinner tacos, Lunch Special Carne Guisada plate, and Nachos. It always starts with the tortilla for me… Flour, handmade(no uniformed shape :-) I like that rustic look), tender but has just that right chew/texture. For the Bean & Chorizo taco: The beans have a really good texture and are flavorful but not to much to overpower and loose the Chorizo. The chorizo was cooked on the griddle top to get a little crispy before adding to the taco. I like when you still get the texture of the individually ingredients and they also marry well together vs all mixed together and no defined texture or flavors. The Potato & Chorizo and Egg & Potato tacos: the potatoes were cooked first and had a good texture and not just boiled and mixed in like a lot of other places and are flavorless. The Carne Guisada was excellent! The meat was tender, NOT to salty, and NOT to heavy like others I’ve had where there is so much lard filled sauce that you walk away feeling not so good. And while ever place that I’ve had Carne Guisada has their own version; the 3 Amigos has all the best qualities that I has come across these lips! Try it! You wont be disappointed! Ok, you’ve read it, NOW go try it! Go Taste the PASSION that Joey has for his food!

This is a little taco dive in a strip mall that you would hardly know it was there but the food is excellent. I’ve only been here for breakfast, so I can’t say anything about lunch, but the breakfast tacos($ 1.69) and plates($ 5.99) are terrific. They come stuffed with egg and potato, or whatever toppings you choose(my favorite is the migas taco). I was impressed with their homemade tortillas, rice, beans, and red & green salsas. Everything I have tasted here has been good — I think it’s among the best I’ve had in San Antonio. The owners and employees are extremely friendly, jolly and glad to see customers coming in. This is a great place to come for breakfast tacos. I’m going to come back and try lunch next time.

Great Mexican food and excellent service. Everything on the menu is delicious. The flautas as FANTASTIC, the chicken is moist and the tortilla is light(almost wonton like). The breakfast plates are all great and the homemade tortillas are just like your abuelita used to make. This is the place to go when you want some good old homemade Mexican food.
