Courtney is such a creative and knowledgable stylist. I wanted to go gray and she brought me from my dark brown to the perfect color.
She was able to explain the whole process and was patient with all my questions and concerns about the big change. With ease I got super awesome hair.
The whole team at AK Lounge really make you feel like part of their family. I recommend ever who wants to be ahead of the trend to book an appointment ASAP.

Ashley is amazing! I was hesitant to try a new hair dresser but Ashley took her time with me and listened to how I wanted my hair to look. She discussed the entire process with me and my hair looked absolutely fabulous in the end. Plus, she is well educated when it comes to hair and the latest techniques. I’m so fortunate to have come across her.

Had the most perfect hair experience of my life at AK Lounge. Brittany cut and colored my hair to the exact color I want to grow from my head naturally. The collaboration between Brittany, Courtney, and the master Magician, Ashley, was inspiring. Pictures have not been providing justice for the glory.

Ashley is AMAZEBALLS!!! She is super knowledgable, passionate, dedicated and an extremly talented artist. Oh, and she is so down to Earth and so easy to get along with. She is a hair guru! I love what she did to my hair, I love the time I spent at AK Lounge (mmm about 8 hours for lifting box color black, balayage, treatments and fun times) and I can’t wait to go back. Kenny Plaster is AWESOME! I have been a client of his for 3 years. I went back to him today for a touchdown on my eyebrows. He did a fabulous job.
I don’t know why anyone would ever blast Kenny. He is so careful, a perfectionist and wants to please.
I consider Kenny a true professional and am so happy I found him.
I am a true fan!!!

BEWARE!
I went in to AK Lounge to personally make an appointment with Kenny Plaster for my mom to get permanent brows. I showed him her picture so he could see what she wanted, etc. and he informed me it would be $ 375. AFTER the service was done, Kenny informed my mom that it was $ 425 and not $ 375. To make matters worse, what Kenny did to her was horrible! One brow is significantly higher than the other; both are off center from the bridge of her nose; both are so bushy looking they don’t resemble how she wears them at all; and the ink strokes are so wide the individual «hairs» don’t look natural at all.
When Kenny showed her the results, she was shocked. She told him they didn’t look right, were off, too bushy, etc. but he minimized her concerns and said to «give it a few days.» When my brother went to pick her up, he noticed the problems right away. Kenny said the brows looked «off» because of swelling and they everything would fall into place in a few days. CRAZY! They weren’t off because of swelling. They were off because of his ineptness and lack of skill.
The very next day, we began calling Kenny as we knew things weren’t right. When Kenny finally returned calls 5 days later, he continued to deny any problems, any mistakes, etc. Furthermore, he had no answer as to why he didn’t inform my mom BEFORE the procedure that he was going to charge her $ 425 rather than the $ 375 agreed upon price. Instead, he just kept bragging on his skills and stating he gave her a good deal!
Kenny’s suggested remedy was for my mom to allow him to take the needle and ink to her face AGAIN! Seriously??? Who in their right mind would allow the man who botched up her face the first time, a second chance to experiment? Ridiculous.
My mom has to have several procedures performed in attempt to correct what Kenny Plaster did to her face as everything is so off centered, uneven and horrid looking. Of course, he’s not touching her again.
You’ve been warned.

Ashley johnson at ak lounge is the best !! I leave her salon feeling so great and excited for my next hair color idea! Not only that my hair is feeling so healthy! I Had a brazillian blowout today as well as color and custom colored extensions. And before the brazilian my hair was unmanageable. Defiantly recommend having that done !! Now it is smooth and feels much better! She is very knowledgeable about the newest techniques and colors and creative! I also enjoy talking to her during my visit this salon is very welcoming! I trust her with my hair and I haven’t been able to say that fully until now!

I had my 1^st Brazilian Blowout with Ashley & it turned out amazing! I have to admit I was very excited & very nervous at the same time.
I have very very curly hair & the difference afterwards was unbelievable! My hair was so soft, stick-​straight & shiny. When I went to work the next day there were many double takes when I walked by my coworkers & «oh I didn’t recognize you!» Of course it would definitely depend on how my hair turns out in the next couple of months as to whether or not I have another but I would highly recommend Ashley. Ashley is so cool & down to Earth. Mind you I spent a few hours in her chair BUT didn’t realize it until after I was done because the conversation just made the time fly by! Definitely an experience I’ll remember!

I met Ashley and Kenny over 2 years ago.
They both do SUPERB work and I can’t say enough favorable things about them — but I will sum it up with they do SUPERB work and they are honest and they genuinely care about their clients. More than likely they will become someone that you call a «trusted friend» like I do! It’s impossible to met them and not be glad you did! They are what I consider «miracle» workers because I have seen the transformations first hand, including my own! I can walk in their salon feeling down and leave feeling great! There is really something special about these two and I am so thankful that I found them — I know that you will feel the same way!

Ashley transformed my hair, I don’t have much to say beyond that. She is always professional and friendly, when I go into her awesome new salon I feel like I’m at a sleepover getting my hair braided, she can talk and laugh with absolutely anyone. Ashley has so much experience with so many hair textures. With the broken mangled texture of my hair all I thought left to do to my mop was shave it off and try again in 10 years, but she created a masterpiece out of my mistakes. I enjoy seeing her every few weeks and totally enjoy doing my hair now rather than working through frustrated tears. We did a Brazilian blowout, used Olaplex to repair my hair’s integrity, then a few weeks later added a demi permanent dye and tape in extensions. I can’t wait to start experimenting with different colors and styles with the only stylist I trust with my delicate and high maintenance hair!

Ashley is by far the best hairstylist in San Antonio!
I saw Ashley for the first time about 5 months ago. My hair was grown out and brassy and all different shades of blonde. She spent 7 HOURS correcting the color; picking through each piece of my hair and foiling what needed foiling and being diligent to avoid all the random platinum strands. I was blown away — I have NEVER been to someone who cares enough to spend the time and the energy (and to do it happily!) to get the job done right. Every stylist I’ve ever been to has rushed me out in an hour and left me extremely disappointed. Not Ashley, she genuinely cares and will do what it takes to achieve the highest quality results. She is always upfront with you about what can be achieved in one session and doesn’t ever try to steer you in the wrong direction.
Fast forward to about a month ago — I believe I had a temporary bout of insanity when I decided to make the TERRIBLE mistake of seeing another stylist simply because they promised a next-​to-​nothing-​price: Long story short: my hair got fried to pieces, breaking off everywhere, horribly (and I mean horribly) damaged and dis-​colored. So I was back in Ashley’s chair a few days ago, thinking surely there was no way out of this horrible conundrum I had gotten myself into. And she worked a MIRACLE!!! Not only me, but my friends/​family/​coworkers were BLOWN AWAY at the transformation! You would never know I had such awful hair before, I am still so amazed and incredibly grateful!
Do yourself a favor and see Ashley, I promise she will amaze you. She’s super fun and you can tell she genuinely loves what she does. And she is always learning new techniques and technologies and getting featured in this article or winning that award, it’s pretty awesome. Kenny tattooed my upper and lower eyeliner today, and I love it! He is super knowledgeable, and walked me through the whole process so I wasn’t nervous about anything. Also, it was painless! For all the time this is going to save me in the morning, and the great pain free results, I would definitely recommend everyone to AK lounge for all their permanent cosmetics!

I have been going to Ashley for hair care for about 2 years. She is more than just my hair stylist, I can say that she has for sure become one of my great friends. She has never shot down any challenge for my hair that I have brought her and always helps me decide what would look best. She has the best eye for hair you will ever find. Do yourself and you hair a favor and call her!

Ashley is «The One». I have lived in SA for nine years. In that time I have been to various stylists who ranged from fair to excellent. Even with the excellent ones, I wanted more. I wanted an Expert. I wanted red carpet hair. I wanted a professional stylist who did it all, with the skills you would expect in top studios around the country. I found her! Ashley transformed my thick unruly graying hair to a gorgeous magazine cover look. She did the Brazilian Blowout, grey touch ups, added chocolate/​caramel colors (sombre) to my nearly black hair, and made it silky and shiny. It looks beautiful. I’ve never had so many compliments, and like I said, I have been to some excellent stylists. Aside from her professional skills and artistry, Ashley is genuine, friendly, and fun. Kenny is absolutely the best permanent make up artist I have ever had do my eyes. This is my third time in 30 years. Had both top and bottom eyeliner done at the same time. Not only did I have relatively no pain I woke up the following day with very little swelling. My eyes look great. Will definitely be going back for brows and lips. Besides being a great pro Kenny is a genuinely a nice person and a pleasure to talk to which makes the process feel like a pampering. Thanks for a great job and a great experience.

Ashely is simply amazing with hair! She is knowledgable and educated, perfectly combined with her natural talent for color shape and style! I have lived in San Antonio for two years and hated getting my hair done because I couldn’t find someone who understood exactly what I was looking for. She nailed it. I will never go anywhere else ! Kenny did an amazing job on my permanent eyeliner last week. He was very professional and was very conscientious about my being comfortable, always making sure I was not in any pain. He matched the color I wanted perfectly. The procedure was quick and painless and it looks fabulous! Recovery was super fast because of Kenny’s skill in applying the permanent eyeliner. I will definitely recommend Kenny for permanent cosmetics to anyone!

Happy, happy, happy!!! Kenny did my permanent eye liner today. I had previously done my eyes about 7 yrs ago (somewhere else) and it had started to change color & fade some so I wanted to have it redone. However, I was too scared after the pain of the first time!!! But I figured if I had done it and survived once I could do it again! Well imagine my relief when I had to ask Kenny if he had started on me & he was half way done with one eye! When I tell you there was NO pain… THERE WAS NO PAIN!!! I’m sooo happy with the results & I’m even seriously considering doing my lips for x-​mas! Thank ya Kenny!!!

Ashley and Kenny are the best of the best. Ashley has been doing my hair for about 2 years now and she is the only stylist I’ve ever had that can make my ideas for my hair a reality. She can create color like no other and she is committed to making it perfect. She’s also incredibly friendly and offers great customer service. Kenny also does great work and I can’t wait to go back to him in the future.
