I order the 3 piece dark chicken with fries to go(#2 on the menu minus the sweet tea). While the food was hot, I found that it lacked flavor. I also ordered the lemon meringue pie and that didn’t taste very fresh the crust was a bit stale. Service felt a bit slow. I wasn’t aware they had a drive thru so I went inside to get my to go order. It felt a bit chaotic because I still went through the line and was never told to pay and my order will be right out I felt in the way of all the patrons that were eating in. The staff was really nice though.

Try the«Wild Bill» to bring the Poorboy to a new level. I like mine with a BBQ sauce sample on the side that I use to pour some in the sandwich and dip my fries in ^_^

For the longest time, I wasn’t sure if Bill Miller’s was actually good, or if it just tastes like every birthday party I had between 5 and 15. I’ve come down on the side of it actually being delicious. Pretty much everything Bill Miller’s provides is better than all right, except their beef barbecue, which is just fine, and their barbecue sauce, which is not very good. Particularly delicious items include: the green beans, the fresh bread, both white and pumpernickel, the brownies, the tea, the steak fries, the fish sandwiches during lent, the barbecue chicken sandwich with pickles and onions, the breakfast tacos, the pico de gallo, the additional breakfast salsa, and the hashbrowns.

Decent BBQ for lunch. Hot and fresh but not up to tax BBQ standards.

You cant beat the price for two barb burgers fries and a large sweet tee for $ 5.16 or something like that!!! Two can share it and get pretty full!!! Yum Yum!!!

I confess, I’m not a huge Bill Miller fan. I’ll certainly go with the die hards in my family, but on my own, its not usually at the top of my list. That being said, I never considered stopping in to see what was on the breakfast menu — «brisket on a biscuit» is just not very appealing to me at 0700(and I’m not even sure if they offer that, I’m just using that as an example people!) However, that changed instantly when I tried a carne guisada taco Bill Miller’s offers during breakfast hours. OMG! This stuff rivals that of the best mom & pop Mexican eateries! Now if they had this on the menu as a regular item, I’d be in there a whole lot more! Even Grandma approved(although she was missing the green pepper — hint hint!) I have to say, even the tortillas were good too! I’m told they are made fresh in the store daily. Who knew? Way to go Bill Miller — I will see you again!

I just moved to San Antonio two months ago… and hoooly Franklin Delano… there seems to be a Bill Miller on every corner of every part of town. I’ve been to several, but the BM right by SAC is the one I frequent most. To put it simply, Bill Miller is a decent barbecue chain that serves good food at a cheap price while providing friendly service. If you care for details, read on. If not, please click«useful» and«cool» and move on… :) This place is a serious contender to Whataburger when it comes to above-average fast food that’s tasty and affordable. Their meals range from po-boys to 2 chopped BBQ sandwiches to chicken strips. They all come with steak fries & a large drink and reach $ 7 max. And they’re all delicious and surprisingly filling. I haven’t really browsed the entire menu, but the meals are definitely worth going to Bill Miller. The inside is very casual and they serve beer if I’m not mistaken, so it’s a chill place to kick back and relax. Totally worth trying if you’ve never been, but I assume that statement only applies to tourists. ;)

Opinions vary widely on BBQ in Texas. It’s not the best BBQ I’ve had, but it’s consistent and they have sweet tea and various homemade desserts. A lot of nostalgia for me at this Bill Miller BBQ just outside downtown on San Pedro. They had sweet tea long before it was ubiquitous in Texas and a drive through, too. Drive through BBQ places are uncommon in Texas.

why does california not have drive — thru b.b.q places? why!!! i have fond memories of bill miller’s growing up. my mother is from texas, so needless to say we spent many a childhood summer visiting family in good ‘ol san antone! i can remember going to bill miller’s with my grandfather as a child and eating the best brisket i had ever had… and who can forget the bucket of sweet tea. when i say bucket i mean bucket… it was literally served in a plastic bucket people! doesn’t get more country than that! this past weekend my family and i again made the trek down to san antonio, after what has been at least ten years, for my grandmother’s funeral and the first place i could think of was bill miller’s. we checked into our hotel and surprisingly enough there was a bill’s just down the street! it has lost some of it’s goodness… the sauce was grand, but the meat a little fatty… but it has not lost any of its nostalgia. and i must say, nothin’ beats their sweet tea! most californians don’t understand the power of sweet tea… i highly recommend educating yourself on what exactly it is and why it is so good! we didn’t get the bucket this time, but it was just as i remembered it. there are many, and i mean many, different b.b.q. places of business throughout texas and many that are most likely better than bill miller’s. but i love this place anyway and always make it a point to eat here when ever i go to texas. so if ya have a hankerin’ for some quick b.b.q in texas, stop on by a bill miller’s and don’t forget the bucket — o — sweet tea… there ain’t nothin’ like it!
