Authentico! Humildon! Comida hecha con amor y cariño :). Se lo recomiendo a cualquiera. Yo viajo a San Antonio frequentemente y andaba buscando un lugar simple y cencillo, pero con sabor. Encontrado al fin.

This is a special place… This truck is one of three identical food trucks parked at this auto body shop, which they co own. I arrived to blaring sounds of Puerto Rican/Caribbean music. I wanted the Tripleta, which is chopped roasted pork with chopped steak cooked together on the flat top. These very generous portion of meats are griddled with vegetables and placed on a toasted authentic cubano type bread. a sauce, sort of a ketchup and mayo mixture is added. The pork was so lean and flavorful that I couldn’t wait for every next bite. There are many meats here to have between those buns. There is the traditional cubano, asada, pastor, sliced pork, chopped pork, and combinations that you can come up with. All sandwiches are only $ 5 and was exactly twice the size I paid $ 9 for at 3009 in HEB Schertz just a day before. This Sandwich was Incredible!!! They have mofungo, yucca frites – all the Caribbean favorites, but I am a sandwich hog and this is one of the best sandwiches I have had. As someone on here says all the time, «get it.» On your mobile phone, I uploaded a video so you can hear the Puerto Rican music they blare. Tripleta sandwich definition: Although there are numerous variations, the main distinction is a combination of three meats, typically grilled, such as beef(usually churrasco steak or cube steak), roast pork(pernil), chicken, and ham. Condiments may include some combination of mustard, ketchup, and mayonnaise, often combined to create a «special» sauce. Popular toppings include thin crispy fried potato sticks or shoestring potatoes, thinly sliced cabbage, lettuce, onion, tomato, pickles, and Swiss cheese. The sandwich is often toasted in a sandwich press. Wikipedia.

Stopped here on the way out of town for a quick bite to go. The food truck is on the same lot as an auto repair place which may seem a bit odd. But in front of the truck is a small wooden deck with lights and palm trees and a tv blasting salsa music. My boyfriend and I ordered a tripleta and a Cuban sandwich, which were both served on deliciously toasted French bread that must’ve had a splash of mojo before it hit the grill because it was fragrantly garlicky. The roasted pork on both of our sandwiches was outstanding! World class stuff that any Caribbean grandma would be proud to serve. The Cuban, though not traditional(no pickles) was very good and didn’t skimp on the pork, thickly sliced ham, Swiss cheese and mustard. The tripleta had the same delicious pork and chopped grilled steak, and comes with lettuce, tomato and a special sauce that tastes like mayo and ketchup. All together, it really works! Other stars of the meal are the outstanding arroz con gandules and the amazing melt in your mouth, candied-to-perfection fried sweet plantains. Wash it all down with a coconut soda or Malta and you will be one happy camper! Portions are bountiful, service was fast and friendly. Price was right. All in all, we would return! Only negative: it seems the owners are trying to be a little pan-Latino with the Cuban sandwich and tacos on the menu. But as long as they keep that lovely roasted pork, who cares!
