We went here for a date night back in July 2014. We came on a Saturday evening and were surprised by the lack of patrons inside. Nevertheless, our food was incredible! I ordered the duck and my husband got the lamb. Both were tender and juicy! They had a good wine selection and we were very happy with our choice(Malbec). At the end of our meal, our server brought us cotton candy! Not everyone enjoys cotton candy, but what a creative twist on a complementary«pallet cleanser.» I like when restaurants show a little creativity with their menu & extras. Our server was new, but he was competent and attentive. I would definitely return! By the way, they’re not just«closed.» They’re looking to relocate. I don’t fault them at all for not wanting to stay where they were; it was a horrible location to try to get to with how busy Stone Oak is ALL the time. I look forward to trying the new location.

This restaurant is amazing! The customer service is exceptional. The food was fresh to order every time and the presentation of the food was amazing. They offered unlimited mimosas for $ 10 and the spinach and artichoke dip w/chips was freshly made(not canned). I ordered the salmon brunch meal. My hopeful had French toast and Bacon and unlimited mimosas.

This place has closed. No reservations available, the phone goes to a machine. Their Facebook says they closed at the beginning of October to focus on catering.

: /So sad this place was incredibly disappointing. It is surprising to me the one star is not from any kind of service or atmospheric factor but from the food. Nothing complimented each other or made sense. I will say though I liked their bread. Spinach and artichoke dip with tortilla chips: I just love eating a block of cream cheese with spinach and panko sprinkled on the top. This ‘dip’ was as thick and heavy as cream cheese and tasted like just cream cheese. We had a lot of chip breakage. The rueben with string fries: First bite was beer beer beer. Lots of Beer = cheese. The reuben is on one piece of larger bread layered with cheese, then meat, the sauerkraut, then cheese again. You will have to use a fork and spoon and if you love beer, this is the sandwich for you. Shoe string french fries were hard to eat. You have to grab five with one hand to get a good bite. the quail appetizer: one quail’s leg with a potato cake. Quail was excellent just there was just one leg. Maybe 4 would have been good enough for the price, but one? Who serves one quail leg? Well, I guess at least one place does. Let’s talk mac and cheese with gorgonzola. Let’s just say this is not a good mac and cheese. New York pizza was hard and had very burnt parts on the crust. You should listen to your environment and when no one’s eating at the restaurant maybe that’s a sign you shouldn’t be there too? 7pm on a Saturday night is a good time to be eating dinner. It was us and two other tables. Maybe because it was so slow, they only had one cook because it also took our food a long time to get to us. Even our cold appetizer took a while. And no one refilled on water. A great #120 spent and it left us wanting something better. Maybe the new menu items will be better. It would be cool if they put Drew’s history on the menu’s. It is fun to read on how a company/restaurant got created.

Came in for the first time today, and took my daughter. The waiter was new so he ended up giving us the adult portion for pancakes, and when they brought it to the table my eyes must have been space saucer size. 3 large cakes on a plate. I was shocked, but he shortly corrected the error on our ticket. That’s good, cause my kid barely burned through one of them. I ordered eggs Benedict.(Big surprise there) and it was a decent version. I like my hollandaise with a little more lemon to it, but the eggs were poached nicely. I was full off the first muffin, and didn’t finish everything. Now on to the booze. I ordered the mimosa that was bottomless. And got about 4 out of the deal. Not bad for $ 10. They are more champs than oj, so they kinda sneak up on you. I would certainly return. :)

July 3rd: Very average meal today. The Cobb salad comes with chicken, bacon, Lots of blue cheese, egg, & avocado on top — but only the greens underneath are dressed with the white french. It seemed a little under seasoned — we actually added salt. Would probably not order again. I still love the Sunnyside pizza, though!

We came in for a late Friday night dinner. It was about 9:30 and the place was pretty dead. We were seated promptly and greeted by a very energetic and amusing server. The wine list had some good by the glass offerings and the menu was well structured with plenty of options. Husband ordered salmon. I got crab cakes. Both dishes were tasty and properly cooked. The crab cakes were full of crab, not bread, which was nice. Our meal ended with a surprise. Our server presented us with some cotton candy. I thought that was pretty cool! We will likely go back again. The brunch offerings looked great, the atmosphere is welcoming and the service was good.

Probably one of the worst restaurants in north San Antonio. Atmosphere is great but that’s about it. I don’t mind paying good money for decent food but this place is overpriced and the service does not make up for it. The wait staff all look and act like they are ex convicts. Honestly, Kirby’s down the street is a much better option if your looking for a good steak with great service. Don’t waste your time or money here. If you do go here, expect to spend a decent amount of money with poor service, inconsistent food, and don’t be surprised if your the only person sitting in the restaurant.(The few times I’ve been it has been empty)

The best bottomless mimosas I have had in this town, champagne to OJ, 3:1 it was very nice and crisp. My mom said we don’t need a carafe we need a pitcher! Next we’ll ask to see. We let the waitress know prior to ordering that we will share all we got, it was nice and surprising everything was brought on two plates. Our waitress was kind and attentive. However, the Reuben sandwich was soggy and the wedge salad was the most uncontrollable salad I have ever had. Blame it on the plating skills. The flavor of the salad was fine but the onion pieces tasted overly processed. If I come back, it will be for a pitcher of mimosa and the sweet potato fries.

Enjoyed Easter brunch at Drew’s. The service was exceptional & the food was delicious. The eggs benedict, ceviche, French toast with berry topping were the favorites at our table. Ohhhh and the shrimp cocktail was perfectly cooked & chilled.

Just a really great place to eat and or drink at. They have a large selection for happy hour people and the atmosphere is very beautiful! Menu is a little pricey but it’s well worth it especially for a anniversary, birthday, business meeting, or just to reconnect with loved ones.

Went there for valentines day with my bf and the hostess gave us a preset 4 course menu where you get to choose your appetizer and main course. We figured since it was the only menu we got that we had to order off of it so we ended up paying 69 dollars per person for our food. Little did we know they had a regular menu option too but the hostess never informed us of that … Kinda tricky. The 4 course meal was pretty good but my halibut was a little too dry. I also think the server could of been more attentive not once did he ask how the food was or if we wanted to order anything else. But the bottom line is that the food was pretty good.

I had fried calamari and the spinach/artichoke dip for starters. The calamari was on the greasy side, but tasted good and the crust was nice and crispy. The dip was okay. There were big chunks of cheese that were not well incorporated into the dip. For the main course I had the salmon with asparagus on a bed of angle hair pasta. The pasta was over cooked but the flavors were good. The salmon was cooked well and the fried capers were a great addition to the dish. I am not sure if I will return… It’s on the pricey side.

We went to Drew’s on a Sunday at 1PM and we thought the place was closed. That should have been a sign to leave the place. However, one of our guests was already at the bar with a Sangria. If I could give individual stars, the Sangria was great. Now, this is lunch and I had just seen this restaurant run a promo on SA Living. I am thinking I am going to order this awesome burger!!! I talked my friends into going here since they were traveling from outside SA for a burger! We place our order and the waiter comes back and tells us they ran out of meat. Ummmmm excuse me, it is 1PM and this place is empty who bought all the meat? The waiter left and came back with an answer of,“Sorry Ladies, we just ran out of any meat items on our menu”. We ended up with food we really did not want but it was ok, the pizza was good however, the Manager never came to our table after the waiter knew we were disappointed. The waiter was very kind, however, there is a broken link of communication between staff and management. In this case, the manager should have at least visited our table. As we were walking out I said I was posting this on Unilocal and how disappointed I was with this establishment, basically just embarrassed that I chose a restaurant with no meat. The manager overheard us and did offer a minimal gift card that would cover a burger for one. We did spend a nice amount for drinks to compensate for the disappointment in food availability at 1PM. The Manager stated no one in the kitchen prepared meat for today but they would have burgers later. I then said if I ever come back I guess I should call and ask if you have meat. He thought I was joking but I was serious. This was just disappointing. The restaurant and Bathroom facilities were very clean so they get 5 stars. The sangria was great 4 stars Burgers…I don’t know cause they ran out of meat Zero stars Please call ahead to make sure they have food if you decide to visit this establishment.

Wow, how a place dwindles on the way out. I used to really enjoy Drew’s, but this last experience was so flawed… Halloween and they were giving away their desserts, sounds great right? The place had only a modest number of patrons and it was a rare beautiful night in SA so my wife and I sat outside. The evening air was the only refreshing thing that night. Our waiter took forever to approach, and 15 min after I ordered a bottle of Becker’s Reserve Cab he returned to tell me that the bottles were so high only one tall bartender could reach… and he was busy. I switched to by-the-glass so we could at least have a drink. I ordered the braised pork and after another long delay the owner Drew came out to tell me the pork was not ready to be served, and suggested I switch to boar; OK. As we waited longer we cornered a bus boy to negotiate for some bread as even our salads were not forth coming. Drew came back to apologize for all the delays and said our wine and the dessert would be on the house. We ran out of time so could not wait for the free dessert and when the bill arrived… you guessed it: the 3 glasses of wine were on the bill. That’s it for us and Drew. I wish him the best in his future business attempts. I suspect Drew’s American Grill has not long to live.

Best Reuben I’ve ever had. BBQ pork nachos are great with a beer at the bar. Great atmosphere and you can tell that they really strive to have each dish be exceptional. The proof is in the reuben.

The service was exceptional. Left our server a generous tip. The food was very average and did not live up to the prices. The meatballs had good texture but fell flat on taste. The calamari was plain and average. The Sunny Side Up pizza was good but I like almost anything with eggs. The Fuhgeddaboudit for just ok. There’s really nothing special about their pizzas except for the prices. I like their Roasted Beet Salad. The candied onions was the highlight. A very average experience for the price. The food needs to stand out more for the what they charge. Think Morton’s or Chamberlain’s. That’s where they need to be at.

My wife and I ate at Drew’s twice this week. The first was for a Vintner’s Dinner with a large group of foodies. Each course was matched perfectly with a local wine. Drew was present(impressive) and introduced himself to each table. He also introduced his staff. Everything was top-notch. We returned 3 days later for Saturday lunch. It was brunch time. My wife had the«Fuhgeddaboudit» pizza. Perfect NY-style pizza(yes, we’ve been to NYC and have eaten the real thing). I had the Pastrami on Rye sandwich. As good as anything in a NY deli! The pastrami was out of this world. Our waiter for brunch was VERY personable, attentive, timely, and humorous. 12÷23÷13: Returned for our third visit. Grabbed a bite for lunch today. Both esposa and I enjoyed the pastrami reuben. It was like we flew to Manhattan for lunch! Staff were attentive and courteous. Service average to slow, but worth the wait. Bonus: they’re on OpenTable!

Drew’s has a great environment and patio… even a fun«ball game» off to the side. But, I wasn’t impressed with anything else. Our server was funny and ok… she was sorta snobby, but in a good way: she outright TOLD us she wouldn’t eat the burgers at Drew’s and didn’t like them. So, we appreciated her honesty. She made sure to check back on us for drink refills etc. The food was a major letdown! My friend ordered the pulled pork nachos… just sad. The pork was tender but had absolutely NO flavor and was extremely bland. It was a pile of chips with a greasy mess on top! I ate one and stopped there… no need or urge for more. Another friend ordered the woodland pizza… meh, it was ok but again you can get better pizza elsewhere. It, also, tasted bland, like it needed some salt at the very least. I ordered the crab cakes… which were ok… they were nice and meaty but again lacked flavor. Gimme some garlic, jazzy breadcrumbs, or maybe some spicy dijon mustard mixed in ‘em! The mustard cream sauce on the plate was sadly the best part of the dish. I also ordered the French Onion soup… pretty good EXCEPT for the huge chunks of soggy Texas toast stuffed into the soup! Typically, it’s served with a piece of half-crunchy, half soggy bread or croûton ONTOP… but the floating throughout was annoying, added no value, and soaked up the good broth. We ended up picking the bread chunks out. The menu IS ambitious and looks good, but nothing we tasted quite panned out or begs for a return visit. Sorry, Drew’s.
