This place has an authentic, Irish Pub feel to it and it’s loud and fun! The pianist is a fantastic comedian that gets the whole bar roaring with laughter and jests! A good spot to step out from the sun and cool off with some cold pints, but oddly enough if your looking for a spot to get lit up at… this may be a good starter because behind the music, hollering, laughing, and the crowd that exists in this tight place… it be tough to tell the difference whether your a hollering drunk or your simply trying to talk over all the commotion!

Solid three and I realize it’s a tourist place. Pros: service was very good and prices great — had the fish and chips! Very good Cons: touristy and the sing along piano was waaaay too loud to talk.

My husband & I came on a Saturday night. The place was full but we managed to find a small table in the front. I was skeptical because of all the mixed reviews on Unilocal. This piano bar is more relaxed than other larger bars. The piano player, Joe, was really fun. Friendly & great personality. He doesn’t turn his nose up at requests like other entertainers you might come across around town. The service was awesome! Juan took care of us and he was quick to refill drinks. The bartender was happy to make my hubby pickle shots even though they don’t typically make them. He went back into the kitchen to grab pickle juice!

Came here on a Thursday night and was pleasantly surprised with live music and comedy. Good wait staff and even costumers in the bar were friendly. Fun concept by having peanuts on the ground. Good place to stop in for a drink.

This place is a mixed bag that comes out on the positive side of things. You’ll find yourself coming in from the heart of San Antonio’s Riverwalk and into what feels a lot like a traditional Irish pub– with a piano singer/comedian. The prices are high to me but standard for the area, so let’s see what makes this spot a treasure on the San Antonio River… The draughts of beer provided the expected names and flavors at reasonable prices. You’ll find Guiness and Blue Moon and even bottles of beers like Michelob Ultra ready and available for your consumption. I 100% recommend hitting up this spot for this alone– you’ll leave satisfied and feeling good… just don’t fall into the river when you leave. The food was mediocre and not close to what I’d call authentic, unfortunately. The Shepard’s Pie was more of a veggie chili with a plop of mashed potatoes on top, though the soda bread it came with was great. The fish and chips were a bit grease-logged and fried beyond flavor. Sadly, the burger seemed to take highest marks for being a satisfying meal. Considering just the food– if you were hungry and wanted a good meal– don’t go here.(For $ 60 of food– 3 meals, it felt a step below fast food.) But then there’s the service and ambiance. This place nails a good-feeling atmosphere. The piano player was making everyone feel alright and engaging the crowd. The waiter was polite and friendly and quicker than I’d expect without feeling like a bum rush. If I wanted to bring someone to a fun place for a good time, this would fit the ticket. So in summary– beer good, food bad, service good, feels good. Check it out.

Favorite hangout on the river walk. You walk into a dark loud piano thumping hole in the wall esque place under Hilton Del Palacio. I love piano bars but not a big fan of the over hyped Petes Dueling mostly bc of the crowd it draws and the amount of people. This place is way more intimate and a less touristy crowd.

Stopped by twice during our visit to San Antonio. Bashan for drinks and some of their free peanuts and and an awesome piano player who kept the whole audience laughing and having a good time. It’s easy to find it’s right on Riverwalk on the Outerloop.

Not your typical Irish pub! The piano player is a riot! The menu is limited and the beer selection is average(your typical Irish bar staplea). Seems like an end of the night kind of place to me. At least they let you toss your peanut shells onto the floor.

Terrible bar, rude staff, too many other places on the riverwalk that are better, do not go here… Been three weeks, came back to finish this review because I was still mad about this place

Great place for Irish fries and a pint of Guinness. They have outdoor seating to eat as well as smoke as well as people watching.

I’m a big fan of piano bars. My husband I stopped in a Monday evening and Durty Nelly’s was packed. The piano player was just so-so. He had a huge repertoire but didn’t finish many songs that he started and wasn’t always on key. Nonetheless, Durty Nelly’s is worth stopping in for a drink and some entertainment.

Never a time I don’t have fun here. Love the live music and the fact they serve Lone Star beer! Always like the fact they seem to be friendly and attentive. I recommend getting there early. It gets packed quickly.

WORSTBAREVER! As a local, I know all the places… but with friends in town on a Monday night. I thought the pianist was a good idea. Staff and manager were rude and not appreciated of our business… will never go back. All tourists can have this place… Texans stay away!

I was wary of this pub at first because a) it was underneath a hotel and b) it was on the Riverwalk, so it seemed like your typical tourist trap(which the prices do seem to reflect). Once inside, however, my group was pleasantly surprised by the ambiance and the laid-back friendliness of the regulars, who helpfully suggested the best items on the menu. The friendly guy sitting next to us recommended their shepherd’s pie, and it was phenomenal! I never knew that I needed Irish soda bread in my life before, but I do now. And their beer-batter onion rings were top-notch. We came in while the piano man was doing his thing, and even though there was your typical table of drunk middle-aged ladies with too much makeup on trying to relive their youth by suggesting he play some raunchy songs, he kept everyone entertained without letting it get too rambunctious. This is definitely a place I will revisit whenever I’m in San Antonio.

Fun place to crack some peanuts, drink a few beers and sing along with whoever is playing the piano. So glad they take requests and that the guys banter with the customers.

This place is a blast!!! We walked in on a Friday afternoon and sat down to join what was already a party with the guy playing the piano and serenading us all with his sweet songs. We ordered some drinks and sat for a few hours singing along. I would definitely check this place out for a fun time when you’re on the riverwalk, I’m excited to check it out at night and see what it’s all about. Tip: a Guinness was $ 6. Which is fine but for happy hour in an Irish bar? Hmmm. A little pricey! OMG I ALMOSTFORGOT– there’s peanuts and you get to throw the shells on the floor. A million times YES!!!

A nice place to sit at have a few drinks or appetizers and listen to the sing along piano… a lil dark in there but still a very inviting atmosphere. It is a little pricey but you can’t beat the sing along piano, makes the time go by real good.
