DXL

Wow! This was the biggest store for big & tall men that I’ve ever shopped. Back home in Maryland, a local Casual Male XL had closed since a DXL had opened a couple of miles down the road. However, I hadn’t been to the new store since I have not been impressed with Casual Male.
Well, I flew down to San Antonio, my hometown, for a memorial service. One night, I was bored and decided to check out this DXL location. Man, I was impressed with the wide selection of clothing!
However, I was a good boy. I waited 2 days later for my fiancé to come in the store with me. Well, I ended up spending over $ 300. And, that was okay because I had some nice clothes!
I really loved this store! So, now I’m excited about the new DXL near my home. I just hope that I’ll be as impressed as I was with this location.

My wife shopped here for me for pants. I had to go today to buy a new pair of suspenders. Well… good and bad.
Good: service. I’m not sure what the reviewer below had a problem with the service, other than there was only one CSR in the store. I was greeted promptly upon entering, and served quickly.
Bad: not the suspenders I was looking for. I like the all metal «bear claw» type (I’m a big guy), and my suspenders see heavy duty when I am in the tuxedo at a DJ event. I had to settle for the plastic clasp type. Wearing them now… not too bad. But I like the bear claws.
Anyway, a good store when I need clothing that fits.

My first impression of this store was both horrible and good, one right after the other.
My first, first impression came when I stood at the counter for nearly 5 minutes without even being acknowledged. I needed to return a few shirts (I usually go to the Huebner location, but it closed down forcing me to venture to this store). There seemed to be only 1 employee working and she was helping a man at a computer nearby. It wasn’t until about minute 12 that she stepped away from that customer to ask what I needed. When I explained I needed to make a return/​exchange and that I knew I’d need to order the new shirts from their online system (repeat buyer of undershirts for my husband and he only likes the specialty ones they don’t carry on the rack!) she went into action. I actually felt a little sorry for her because she was trying to juggle both me and the other customer at the same time. She filled out the exchange request, refunded my money and made the subsequent online order fairly quickly. It’s what she did next that impressed me and made me change my review from 2 to 3 stars. When she saw that I had originally bought the shirts on sell and that the new total was nearly $ 30 more than I originally paid, she got on the phone to corporate to have a price adjustment (weird she had to call and couldn’t do it in store). Unfortunately corporate had already left for the day so she said that she’d call first thing tomorrow to have the price corrected. She did just that and my shirts arrived about 5 days later, as expected.
If you’re needing big and tall clothing, this store has a great selection, but they could use some additional associates to help customers, especially during the holiday season! If you go, you’ll likely find something you like, but just be prepared to wait at the checkout… and pray you don’t need assistance while shopping.
