The pool company is not that bad to deal with. It’s everyone else that turns buying a pool from them a nightmare. The contractor that installed the pool was impossible to ever get ahold of. They use the most expensive concrete contractor I’ve ever heard of. Be ready to spend $ 12 per square foot for the extra concrete you want(average price is $ 3-$ 4). On top of that it’ll take them a month after the pool install to even start.

Took a lot longer to put pool in due to all the rain we got in May/June. Didn’t seem in hurry to get it in on dry days. Didn’t give me a new filter as promised after installation, and believe me you need it after it goes through everything at beginning. As for the pool, we love it.

Buying a pool for this company would be the worst thing you could do, bad service, bad attitude, expensive. Probably the worst thing this company has is the kind of attitude management has towards their customers, they think they are doing them a favor. Don’t go even near this company, just do a search for ripoff Gary’s Pools on the internet and you’ll see what I am talking about. Same thing goes for Keith Zsars, same family tree therefore same level of incompetency. I guess being a monopoly for so many years has transformed this company in a disaster that I don’t see ever again becoming a trustful company.

The sales experience may be good but be prepared to be the project manager because the production(installation) people are not great. They are only as good as the sub-contractors. The first excavation sub-contractor got fired. They even said they had similar issues with that sub-contractor prior and they will no longer use them. Make sure you do not give them all the money until the job is done. You should hold back 5% of the cost of the pool until it is finished. Once they have it, they are not motivated in any way and will no longer work with you on issues that come up. Keep your own time of when they are breaking rock if they hit it. We timed them for 18 hours and they tried to charge for 21.5. At $ 150 an hour that is not good. In addition, it does not matter that a big machine can do the job in 9 hours compared to a small one for 18. If I knew that they could use the bigger machine, I would have made them use that instead of the little one. Also, I bought the pool through the San Antonio store on 281 and Bitters. Avoid Jess as the sales guy. He was trying to be helpful at the beginning but turned rude, and condescending. The last call we made he just hung up on my wife after telling her to call someone else.
