Finding a childcare center for your kiddo is extremely nerveracking! My son was at Kiddie Planet full-time from when he was 2 years old through 4 years old. It took me forever to write a review because I always had a love/hate relationship with this place. I’ll start off with the positives. The location is ideal if you live/work in the Medical Center. It’s directly across the street from UTHSCSA and within walking distance to many places. Security is a huge thing for me as a parent and knowing my child is safe. There is a keypad on the front entrance that you must know the code to get through the front door. About 75% of the time the director was always sat in her office as well and always popped her head out to make sure everything was normal. Another thing I love about this place is that they have video cameras via , so you can watch your child while you’re at work. This is a huge bonus! Now onto the negatives, The turnover of teachers here is absolutely ridiculous. My son advanced three levels while he was here(2 year old, 3 year old, and 4 year old class). In the 2 and 4 year old classes, he never really had a regular teacher. The teacher would be there for a few weeks/months and leave which can be extremely disappointing for a child. There was never any sense of regularity because everything was always changing and he was always being flowed to a different class. The only regular teacher he had was his 3 year old teacher(which is by far the best teacher there, go Ms. Deborah!) The teachers who are here don’t really care about their jobs, in my opinion which doesn’t help — most of the teachers are complaining to parents about each other and about the other kids in the class. I’ve heard teachers tell me how much they can’t stand one of their students and their parents. Not a good sign! I switched my son to Little Red Caboose daycare near Babcock and Prue. One huge bonus here is the teachers are there long-time and most have been there for at least two years. You can tell they love their job, the owners love them and their students love them. No turning back!
