Stopped by with my husband for a late lunch. They have a simple menu and great daily specials. Today was a veggie burger, it was one of the best I have ever had. So far we have been there a dozen times and always have a great meal. Great local brews on tap, that change frequently. Staff are very helpful and kind.

Awesome service! Doubly awesome food! Will drive from New Tampa again to eat here! Great local and different beers accompanied with crispy sweet potato chips drizzled with balsamic reduction and gorgonzola cheese– great combination. Ask for Jackson– he knows his beers and was super accommodating with our beer selection questions. Can’t wait to come back!

Great little spot in a place you wouldn’t expect a «foodie» gem to be. Great ambience! We loved the 70s R&B music mix in the background. Nice selection of craft beers on tap and they were ice cold. We started off with the charcuterie board with artisanal cheeses. It was absolutely delicious! Crisp apples, figs or other seasonal fruit would’ve been a nice addition. The Local Salad with fried green tomatoes was chock full of the freshest greens, tomato, watermelon chunks, blueberries and peaches imaginable!

Been 4x now. Bunch is hands down amazing. First try got the red beans and the rice was not cooked but beans were flavorful. I’m a bit harsh on these menu items being a native of Louisiana. 2nd time got the bunch catfish Benedict. I thought I had died and gone to heaven!!! We started with the biscuits and spicy sausage gravy which I may have had a small orgasm. This brings us to 3rd times a charm… Got fries with sausage gravy and for my entrée pulled pork sandwich. I salivated! 4th trip was still solo and I decided to give the red beans another shot. Rice was perfect this time but beans lacked the flavor from first try. The andouille addition($ 2 add on) to the dish was spot on. They label this as their vegan/guten free dish… Just don’t forget the flavor of La in such a classic southern dish. Oh. P. S. Beer selection on draft is phenomenal.

Almost five stars, we all loved this restaurant– from the décor to the friendly staff and the amazing food! We are finding ourselves trying to find a reason to head out back that way even though it’s over an hour! Great wine list, craft beers and home cooking! We were a table of picky foodies and we all loved everything we ordered! We had the house burger but with a fried tomato and Gorgonzola and we tried the chicken and dumplings — amazing!!! On a road trip? Pull over and spend an hour at this fantastic gastro pub we all are still talking about the food!

Large well designed space, great service, craft beers galore, and simple southern pub food at reasonable prices. There in a Friday night, and surprisingly not crowded. This would be a great space for some live music

Great craft beer selection here. Not what we expected to find in San Antonio. Nice clean, big open space. Did not eat dinner, but the food looked very good. We will be back to eat here. So we came back a couple days late. Glad we did. I had the BLT, which was incredible. Everything was very fresh and flavorful. I skipped the fries for a house salad, which was also very fresh and delicious. Can’t wait to try more menu items. The Blues band that plays on Sunday’s is also very good.

In the middle of nowhere sits this wonderful gem. A rustic restaurant with great food and beer, this spot has everything you could want from a diner. I had the BLT(has fried green tomatoes) and sweet potato chips and it was delicious! The andouille corn dog bites were also a hit! My husband’s grassfed burger was also cooked to perfection. They had great beer selections as well! When you’re done eating, stop by the«provisions» part of the restaurant and pick up some unique jams!

Local has become one of my favorite places to get a drink and relax on a Friday or Saturday night. I love the different meads that they have from time to time and I plan on trying their brunch one of these days! I have not tried the food yet because most menu options revolve around meat and I’m vegetarian, but their salads do sound amazing. I really enjoy the atmosphere and the design of the building, it reminds me of some favorite places that I’ve visited in Charleston. Not what you’d expect in Dade City, but I’m glad it’s not too far away!

Passing through and happened upon one of my new favorite restaurants in… Florida! It was that enjoyable. Made it for brunch and loved the Catfish Benedict and the Grapefruit IPA they had on tap. Other favorites from our table: chicken and waffles and the brunchos. Everyone enjoyed their meal though. Go!

****UPDATEDREVIEW***** It is very hard for me to write this updated review since I wanted so badly to give local provisions the opportunity to get things right and assumed that my bad experience was just a fluke. First of all, the primary restaurant, «Pearl on the Grove» is am amazing place and while this is an extension of that establishment, it is nowhere close to the quality. Local Provisions boast the high quality of local farmers food and the prices reflect this. Unfortunately it seems that the aquaponic salads that are provided and fruits are hit and miss. I have gone and had amazing salads and other times(most of the time) I received wilted, black, and excessively old salad. It was not fresh and was sitting for some time. For a small salad priced over $ 11, I expected more. On another visit I waited over 60 minutes for a hamburger; there were only 6 – 10 people at the restaurant. When the burger finally came, they forgot the $ 2 bacon that I paid for. While the waitress was apologetic and offered a beer, this was one of many customer service issues and reduced quality management that seems to plague this place. If you want a sandwiche that ranges from amazing to sub par. roll the dice an visit this place. I will stick to the beer(if I go back) or visit the Mexican place next door that has always been consistently good, fresh, and delicious. The only thing that seems good about Local Provisions is the modern, trendy, atmosphere and the craft beers that they offer. The food has the opportunity to be amazing, but I think that there needs to be improved management in the kitchen.

5 stars for the absolute deliciousness of the food and uniqueness of the restaurant A great restaurant with a decent selection of craft beer on tap. We had the pretzels and beer cheese, a cheeseburger with home made chips, and the chips n salsa. ALL great though my favorite was the pretzels. So soft and slightly salty with that cRaZy delicious side of cheese — Yummm !! Thankfully this restaurant isn’t closer to us or we’d eat here a lot and our waistlines would tell that tale! Clean restrooms and a cute side area that has a few items to purchase i.e.: market.

Fancy for the area but lacking anything spectacular. We were in San Ann for a photo shoot and we were starving after. We tried to go to the Mexican restaurant next door but it was a 40min wait… so we came here. The atmosphere is well done. Kind of that shabby chic, repurposed look that is popular. And I liked their use of local ingredients. The menu was exciting too, but the food was just ok. I ordered a bowl of boiled peanuts and they came out pretty black-I’ve never seen that before but they tasted fine. We also ordered an appetizer of the andouille sausage corn dogs. Good but not phenomenal. For our meal I had the local salad with poached shrimp and Mr Kelleigh ordered the hamburger-both fine but not fantastic. On a side note: they do NOT have any high chairs. I guess they don’t want the rugrats visiting. So we had to improvise and bring in her car seat. Not ideal, but we made it work.

3.45 stars on this one. I really liked a lot of what Local Public House had to offer, and I think a second visit is definitely in order to better assess the restaurant. I’m all about the customer service, especially if I’m sitting at the bar. Unfortunately, our bartender, Caleb, had the personality of a agitated house cat. It just seemed like he really didn’t want to be working last night. Well, until a few of his buddies came in and sat at the bar. They got the golden treatment, and because the bartender stood in front of them the entire time chatting it up, they needed for nothing. I guess it pays to be a regular. As for the food though, it was all very good. La Chica and I kicked things off with a cheese and charcuterie plate, which kept it simple yet flavorful. Nothing worse than ordering one of these and it contains all kinds of weird and unrecognizable food. Our plate had two forms of salami, 3 cheeses, two sweet jam dips, pickles, sweet onions and the world’s most delicious peanut brittle. The price clocked in at $ 15, which might have been on the high side, but we enjoyed it thoroughly. For our entrée, we split a burger with Gorgonzola, cooked medium. Again, the price was a little higher than what I’d typically pay for a cheeseburger, but this was some local, grass-fed, no hormone blah blah blah burger, so I was down with it. And although it was not flame-grilled, the flavor was on point. We subbed the fries for coleslaw, which could probably use a little work. Too much vinegar, not enough creaminess. The décor inside was simple, yet sleek and overall visually appealing. Plenty of dseating inside and out. Live music livened up the joint. Bathrooms were well maintained, and very clean. The provisions shop was cool. Pricey, but cool. I spoke to a San Antonio resident next door at Pancho’s, who scoffed at Local Public House. She said that San Antonio is a sleepy redneck town, and there is no place for a restaurant like this here. I’m not very familiar with San Antonio, but I think there is a place in every town for a place like LPH. Just make sure you don’t sit at the bar!

Stopped by today after a nice bicycle ride in the San Antonio hills. We grabbed a beer on the patio. It’s great to have such a selection of local draft beers. Very cool atmosphere, not at all what you would expect in San Antonio, Fl which is pretty rural. Will go back again!

What a great find! «Local» isn’t just the name; it’s the ethos: the beers are from local microbrews and foods are locally sourced as well. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. I had a beer sampler and found some new favorites. For lunch, I had the nachos, which were fantastic and slightly unusual. The chips were freshly made and topped with a beer-cheese sauce, pulled pork, chili and fresh tomatoes. My hubby had the pulled pork sandwich and fries, which he wolfed down like he hadn’t eaten all week. He said it was excellent. Very pleasant atmosphere, clean facility and wonderful food. We’ll definitely be back!

The Local House is «a grown up pub with great burgers, po-boys, salads and snacks made with all local ingredients.» What’s more is that The Local House is willing to serve this locally sourced food without the attitude. They cater to vegetarians and vegans and they aren’t against substitutions. This is in stark contrast to some of the«local ingredient» restaurants I’ve visited. The Local House’s menu is pretty sparse. It only offers about twenty food items. Yea, I’m counting appetizers, salads, main courses and desserts when I say that. While that might turn off some, I’m okay with that. Give me a place that does less things better over one that does a million things mediocre any day. Of those twenty or so food items, we sampled six of them during our recent visit. Our list included the rice and beans, sweet potato chips, chips and salsa, french fries, the Underground Salad and the Fried Green Tomato BLT(minus the bacon). We took the BLT with a side salad and kumquat vinaigrette. The chips and salsa and sweet potato chips were the first two items that arrived at our table. The chips were served on a board alongside The Local House’s freshly made kumquat salsa and beer cheese fondue. I loved the chips. They were dark in color(they looked more like pita chips than tortilla chips) and were not greasy at all. The chips were thick, twice the size of your typical Mexican restaurant, crispy and firm. This helped them hold up nicely to the pressures of my vigorous dipping. I was disappointed with the kumquat salsa. I was really hoping to be wowed, that the salsa would stand out versus some of my favorite store-bought salsas and I’d have no choice but to beg them for a container to take home. But I didn’t get that. I felt fine leaving the half eaten salsa remnants on the table and not packing it up to take home. The beer cheese fondue was a hit amongst the cheese eaters at our table, especially Z-Bot. After the chips were gone, most people moved on to other things… not Z-Bot. She took out a spoon and started eating the cheese with it. She couldn’t get enough. My favorite appetizer of the evening was the sweet potato chips. For an extra fee, these chips can be upgraded to be covered with gorgonzola and balsamic. We upgraded, although we got the cheese on the side. I loved that the chips were super thinly sliced and crisped to perfection. Like the chips and salsa, these guys were not super oily. But what made the dish was the balsamic drizzle. That added a nice little tang to the appetizer. With the cheese and balsamic added in, these chips came out to be about nine dollars and fifty cents. The Local House is definitely not cheap but when you are eating at a restaurant that uses only local ingredients, that is to be expected. These restaurants aren’t privy to the cheaper wholesale prices that are offered by corporate companies that ship national meat, cheese, fruits and vegetables. The Fried Green Tomato BLT was a very popular sandwich at our table(five of them were ordered) for good reason. It was awesome. It all starts with the bread. The sandwich is served on a roll that comes from the Jamison B Breadhouse Bakes(in Ybor). The bread was crispy on the outside and soft and pillowy on the inside. It fell somewhere in the middle of the dense/light spectrum. Airy but not Wonder Bread, dense but not the sourdough I baked last summer. The green tomato, courtesy of Green Acre Aquaponics, was nicely breaded and held up during the eating process. There is nothing worse than a breading that slides off mid-chew. The sandwich was a bit dry because it is served with no condiments. I counteracted that by dipping it into the kumquat vinaigrette that came along with my side salad. The dressing mixed with the tomato and bread made this a memorable sandwich. One of the best I’ve had in the Tampa region? It’s too early to tell. Guess I’ll have to go back a couple more times. I left the restaurant patting myself on the back saying good call on the side salad. Not only was the salad dressing a nice dipping accompaniment to the FGT-BLT but the vegetables themselves were absolutely divine. Crispy, juicy, crunchy, fresh. These were the adjectives that kept playing through my head as I savored each bite. You could just feel the difference between The Local House’s salad and one that you get at a restaurant that doesn’t source locally. J-Fur ordered the Underground Salad which combines seasonal fruit, greens and goat cheese. Despite the fact that it was loaded with fruit, she felt that the salad needed to be just a bit sweeter. For Z-Bot, we got an order of rice and beans. She played with it more than she ate. The following day I ate the leftovers for lunch. Good, but not really special. They were your typical rice and beans. Great sandwich, salad and chips, good rice and beans and a fun atmosphere are all reasons why I will be paying the Local Public House & Provisions more visits.

Can’t get over the 4&5 star reviews here. This is a standard, average(at best) pub restaurant. …not worthy of the outstanding 4&5 stars I award to restaurants that offer innovative offerings, good value, or exceptional service; none of which were evident here. As John D. reviewed earlier, food was bland, and portions small. The Fried green tomato BLT was bland and dry. I’ve lived in Florida & the south for 15 years, and I know fried green tomatoes. This was unseasoned and I had to ask for sauce and the only thing they offered me was Tabasco. A remoulade would have been more suitable instead of just mayonnaise on the sandwich, as they offer that with the shrimp. Since there was already mayonnaise on the sandwich I didn’t want to add more mayo blended remoulade. Also, the toasted french roll was completely tasteless. The side of coleslaw was loaded with mayonnaise, despite being described as vinegar based by our server(see photo). My wife ordered red beans & rice. The restaurant was empty on a Friday @ 12:45, yet we still had to wait 22 minutes for our food to come out. Limited food menu, average prices, small quantity left me looking forward to an early dinner later tonight.

I loved the layout of this place, super fun and hip little food/bar spot. But the food fell a bit short for me. I ordered the shrimp and grits dish, which is usually pretty heavy and filling. But I was still hungry after eating it. Either the portions are small or I’m a porker, you can decide. I was also disappointed with the flavors — I thought they’d really pop with some spice and seasoning and cheesy goodness, but this lunch special was a miss for me. However, I’d recommend this place for beer and appetizers for sure.

This place is amazing. Can’t believe it’s located in the little itty bitty town of San Antonio, FL where there is nothing much except for nearby Saint Leo University, and cute little antiquing town of Dade City. I instantly walked in, and was like wow, this is so HGTV. I loved the ambiance, and the cleanliness of everything. It was so modern and sleek. I looked at the menu, and honestly, I was nervous at the lack of menu items there were on the menu. Then again, when the menu is minimal in options, for sure they will do it right, and exceed expectations. I picked out a few options, and then asked my waitress what would be the best. Shrimp Remoulade Salad Roll sounded good to me, as well as the Fried Green Tomato Blt, and lastly The Big Salad. I picked out The Big Salad with Grilled Chicken Thigh, and a Side of Fried Green tomatoes. This salad was out of this world. I am by far not a salad-as-an-entrée type of person whatsoever. The salad had the following: aquaponic greens with your choice: tomato, cucumber, strawberries and pineapple, goat cheese, kumquat & vidalia onion vinaigrette. The salad also comes with Bleu cheese and onion, but I asked not to have that. The side of fried green tomatoes were so juicy & fresh. I swear they were best I have had in a while, probably since I was in Savannah, GA. I would have loved to try some of their drinks and desserts, but what I had was perfect for my lunch. I can’t wait to go back, and try their Sunday brunch and their Monday specials. Don’t forget to check out the back area where there is a nice sitting area, as well as a market with local food items including wine, drinks, kumquat salsas. You will love it. If you love sitting outside, they do have their outside sitting area. I didn’t check if it was dog friendly, but I hope that they are because it’s a pretty big nice area.
