Logan’s Roadhouse

I have eaten at this Roadhouse (and others around the state) while on business trips for over a year and it used to be one of my favorites. The last three visits in a row were bad. Twice the food was either way over cooked or undercooked. The last visit I was seated and then sat for over ten minutes while the servers walked past me 20 – 25 times and not one acknowledged me or even seemed to notice I was there. After ten minutes I got up and thinking it would be something manager would want to know, I went to the front and asked to speak to the manager. He came and I told him my story saying that if I was running the restaurant I would want to know if there were problems. He listened and simply said that what I experienced was «not good» but no apology or explanation or offer to help a loyal customer want to continue to come back. I left and ate at a different restaurant and unfortunately will cross this roadhouse off my list.

We saw the reviews and tried this place for the first time – there won’t be a second time. We never got to enjoy the steaks or bread rolls because we NEVER GOT SERVED. We sat for 20 minutes at our table while parties that were seated after us were served drinks and bread. We couldn’t even make eye contact with a server and we were seated near the kitchen door so we saw lots of servers.

this is our «go to place» Price is right; especially that 2 fer specials. Happy hour is excellent with frosted glasses for ice cold beer. There are times that it is very busy but we have always been greeted at the door and service is prompt. Manager comes around most visits to ask about service and any concerns. Love the rolls. We like to sit in the bar area not only because there is less noise from kids and for the happy hour but because it also is more intimate. Staff turns over frequently but those that are around are very friendly and helpful. Even though it is a chain restaurant we really do enjoy coming here and we can count on quality meals each time

Waited 40 minutes for our food. The steaks were burned on the outside yet raw on the inside. My baked potato was raw. There was a 15 minute wait for rolls. Drinks not refilled. Don’t go here.

I came here last week with my family and had to post my review.
Appetizer: Rockin onion petals (delicious however we felt the «petal sauce» had too much horse radish) My fiancé ordered steak medium rare with a side of squash fries which she loved, I ordered the «fried cheese & bacon burger» well done and it was delicious filled with tomatoes and pickles yum. I also had a side of fries, our daughter had the popcorn shrimp with fries. She ate every bit of it! Forgot to mention the hot rolls and peanuts, they were very good as well. We left a nice tip for our waiter as he was on point with our food and drinks and very polite! We will be coming back very soon!

This was my first visit EVER to San Antonio and Logan’s Road house thank God I’m smart enough to know this HORRIBLE restaurant is not indicative of the city. When we arrived and were sat by the hostess she asked if sitting in a dirty area was ok… REALLY??? And I’m NOT talking about the peanut shells on the floor. There was a huge water spill! When we said we would rather not we were met with attitude!!! We got another seat, ordered queso and chips to our NON SURPRISE there was a petrified chicken finger in the bowl of chips! EWWW! The server brought out cocktails and SAID «I want your husband to try the drink cuz I think it might be wrong»! GEEZ! Thank goodness friends called and said to leave this horrible place. We said we would pay for my drink and kids soda but husbands drink was not good. THEY REFUSED TO COMP THE DRINK! Whatever we paid to get out of Logan’s. My friends just said don’t even go on Unilocal… it’s Logan’s! Guess that’s all that needs to be said!

Loans roadhouse is great place to eat. Kid friendly — kid menu. The kids get entertained eating peanuts while waiting for their meal.
They offer appetizers, salads, ribs, steaks, chicken and fish. Full bar available with happy hour!

Great service and rolls were brought right out. Fried Fish was battered perfectly!!! Wife had the steak and my son had the kids steak and they were cooked exactly as we wanted. Kids ate rolls and peanuts while we waited and that kept them busy. Yes!!!
Atmosphere is casual and they have great specials for 2 people on Monday and Tuesday. Great Happy Hour Specials.

We had another large get together here and it was very disappointing! First our waitress hardly came around for any refills or any bread. She told us that they were making the bread and the tea!!! She also told us that as soon as the bread was ready she would bring it out, which never happened! Then when I finally got a tea refill, it was another guy and because I handed him four glasses to refill he made a face and rolled his eyes at me! The chicken fried steak was so dry and crunchy it was like jerky! Then to top it off on our bill she gave herself a 20% tip without even telling us! She did not even come close to earning a tip! I then brought it to the managers attention and all she could say was that she was sorry, of course… what she really should of done was given me my money back for such a bad experience… the Logans staff ruined our birthday celebration and got paid for it!!! We will not be returning! Texas Roadhouse will be getting our business because they know how to treat people!

Had a great Sunday lunch. Jenna our server was spot on and the food was great! My prime rib was cooked to perfection. The Caesar salad was cold and crisp and the rolls were plentiful and fresh! I’ve eaten here on numerous occasions but this was my best experience. The only negative was our booth table was very wobbly and needed to be adjusted.

Gave Logan’s a second shot and they totally redeem themselves! The service was great and food was excellent. I got the Sirloin and Rum Salmon and it tasted great.

I wanted to take my 11 year old brother out for lunch before our fun filled day and I know he loves steak so this was our choice! We arrived shortly after opening, some servers were still stalking up peanuts. Let me start off my saying the food was great! The steak we ordered was cooked correctly, the bread that was served was nice and warm. The fried pickles were nice and salty (haha), my brother loves them. So I have no complaints over the food at all! Great job to the kitchen staff!
Unfortunately, service is another key component to any dining experience. Our server was mediocre. We did not get a smile, we did not get a check back to see if the food tasted good, we did not get an offer of dessert or a happy birthday when clearly there was a birthday present (gifts were on the table). Maybe it’s because I had kids with me, I don’t know, but the service felt cold. I serve as well and I mean u have to fake it til u make it. Smile! Say happy birthday! Offer to bag something up! Act like u enjoy your job. Sort of annoyed me because right after she served us she greeted the next table with a big cheesy smile. Also I moved the big pails for peanuts out of my way and when she can back she immediately moved them right back in front of me where I didn’t want them!
In conclusion, Roadhouse, the food was great and the service brought u down to 3 stars. I will go back and hope that I don’t get the same server.

My boyfriend and I ate here the other day. We came in early and our waitress was Kelly. She was super nice and super attentive. (My boyfriend is difficult). The food was awesome. Service was awesome. Can’t wait to come back.

Date night with wife. Got greeted and seated right away. Bread came to table and ordered drinks. Menu was falling apart but ordered food and alcohol drink. Drink was awesome. They brought a salad my wife loved. Food was about a 15 minute wait. Food came and they made sure steak was cooked correctly. It was. Mine was fantastic but my wife thought it was spicy so she didn’t eat it my broccoli was amazing and potatoes were good too. My ribs were burnt and were horrible. Couldn’t eat them. My wife said her baked Potatoe was good and mac and cheese was really good. Shrimp was great too. Manager came and apologized for ribs and offered to cook me more but we were leaving. Gave them 3 Stars because of the food. It was the reason we came and didn’t deliver. Bailey was a great server and Carlos the manager was caring. We might come back.

Went to Logan’s last week for some appys and happy hour. The food was actually really tasty, service at the bar was quick and friendly, and the manager even made it a point to personally assist us as well. I noticed that there were no peanut shells on the floor, idk what’s up with that because peanut shells are MEANT to be tossed on the floor of these «roadhouse» restaurants. Now they have a lame little bucket to put your shells in… lame I tell you! I never realized how delicious their bread and butter is!
But yeah, I will most likely go back again in the near future.

Dined here last week and received some amazing service! Our waitress had a great personality, out drinks tasted great, mango frozen texas tea was my favorite of the night! Food was delicious, great sweet potato… ill be back again!

This place reminded me of why I have to forget about the concept of «happy hour” — if you get there between 4:30−6 during a week day, most apps and drinks are half off. I’m a food-​loving gal who loves a good deal, so this can potentially be a recipe for disaster.
Ultimately, we made off with 3 drinks (1 beer, 2 frozen strawberry margs), 2 apps (5-​piece bourbon bbq wings, 5-​piece hot buffalo wings, and fried shrooms), and their «2 can dine for $ 14.99» deal, giving us 2 entrees (wood grilled salmon and the beef tips) and 4 sides (mac and cheese, veggie skewers, baked potato, and sautéed mushrooms). All this, folks, for the grand total of $ 33 before tip.
Our server and all service was awesome– quick, attentive, and friendly without being annoying or overbearing. To say that we’ll probably be back for HH is an understatement– I’m tempted to reserve a permanent table on set days of the week!
As for the food, it was all good– I had to avoid their famous rolls, but I had a few of their roasted nuts as we waited for apps. Wings were a good size, and the sauces were good though I preferred the buffalo. Shrooms come with an amazing horseradish dipping sauce.
Entrees were very tasty– wood grilled salmon was slightly charred and delicious, beef tips were a large portion with a fabulous mushroom and onion gravy. The veggie skewers and sautéed shrooms were well seasoned and tasty while also being a good healthy option; and the mac and potato were exactly what you wanted them to be: guilt-​inducingly good home style food.
Consider this my new happy hour spot– I’ll be here next Friday for the prime rib!

I go here with my parents and brother every once in a while, since the men only like «American» food. Steaks are pretty good here and I think reasonably priced compared to others. They are seasoned well and the grill gives them a good taste. I’d give them 4 stars. They even do good sirloins. Our waiter even asked my brother to cut into his steak to make sure it was cooked properly.
Everything else is kind of average though. The service is hit or miss. I’m pretty sure our waiter forgot our bread last time. Of course she brought it to us once we asked. We had been sitting without the bread for a long time while all the other parties had their bread already. The buttery rolls are freshly cooked, soft, and tasty.
The Caesar Salad is overdressed and the croutons are too salty, but still does the job. It’s ok. The mac and cheese is also average. The sauce wasn’t that great. I actually prefer the kind from a box though to be honest. I had the half rack ribs on our last visit. The sauce was distributed unevenly on my ribs. Some parts didn’t have any sauce. The meat was tender and the flavor was alright. I don’t think I will ever find a rack of ribs as good as Phil’s bbq in San Diego though. This could be part of the reason I just thought the ribs were average.
Portions are pretty plentiful at Logan’s. You get two sides with every meal, so you shouldn’t leave hungry. Most menu items are reasonably priced for the portion size.
I’d go here for the decently priced steaks, but I don’t think I’ll be ordering anything else on the menu for a while.

The chefs don’t understand good cooking. The bread could be a lot better. Peanuts — what peanuts? Oh wait… I didn’t get any.
On the flip side, the server was polite and the manager came by to see if they could comp me some way because they horribly messed up the steak. Since I was on a time crunch I decided not to and just keep on keepin on.
Apparently a lot of people go here to watch the Spurs games so from an economic point of view, the quality of food that is served here does not have to be the best at all since the customers will come for the TVs and to munch on. If customers came here soley on the food — I’m sure this place wouldn’t last too long.

This Logan’s is extremely close to my house, so it’s a restaurant my family and I visit quite frequently. Everytime we go, we always have outstanding service and a fabulous time! We try to go Mondays or Tuesdays from 3PM-​6PM because they have a special «2 meals for $ 13.99», which is definitely a bargain! The bread here is to die for, I think I could live off of it if I had to ;) Everytime we visit Logan’s, I always either get ribs or steak, both of which are my favorite dishes here. The vegetable skewer is delicious, very tastey! All-​in-​all, Logan’s is great, if you’re looking for a nice restaurant that has a lot of meat dishes, this is where you need to go. Plus you get unlimited bread and unlimited peanuts, wooooo!
