We have always drove by this place and wanted to give it a shot one day. After spending the day at the carinval(SA stock show & rodeo) we decided to get some food. Hostess on the street level was very friendly and welcomed us right in. After being sitted several workers walked by without asking if we have been helped. Lots of staff was just sitting around not doing anything. At one point went in the restroom and two workers were in there and smelt like weed. food was very basic. My daughter got chicken and it was very dry with little sauce on it. My burger was ok seems as if it was just warmed up. Been there done that don’t think I will be going back.

This is the worst steakhouse I can remember visiting. Well actually, my wife and I had a terrible lunch here a year ago, but unable to get in anywhere else gave it another try. Take your pick. Awful service with an ever confused wait staff. Drinks took forever. The longest was a half hour before being told they were out of the wine she ordered. Small(mercifully) grissly steak with cold French fries. All seated near a loud barker replete with six guns cajoling people to come into this dreadful restaurant. This horribly run establishment needs to be put out of its misery. Awful is too kind.

What a waste of time & money. I think this is one of the largest eateries on the Riverwalk and it was the only one we could get seated in within 20 minutes. We were starving. Anyway, we were seated in a side table next to the bar with a decent view of the river. First thing I notice is that this place is pricey! But hey, we’re paying for atmosphere, too, so we splurge a little. Being unsure of the quality of food, we ordered a sampler appetizer consisting of Jalapeño Poppers, Fried Mushrooms, Onion Rings, and 3 Hot Wings to get started. All tasted like they were bought from Albertsons and just fried on spot.(the mushrooms and onion rings were soggy) Seriously, these had to be plain ‘ol store-bought items that they charged a premium for. Needless to say, we paid our 40.00 for our 2 drinks and appetizer and got the heck outta there. And what a shame. If I owned a restaurant in a hot-spot like this, I would do everything I could to make it an unbelievable dining experience, but I guess management observes that they’re constantly filled up(location, location, location) and they see no need to change. If this were a stand alone restaurant, it would’ve failed miserably years ago. The next day after eating here, I remembered that we tried food here about 5 years ago and I swore then that I’d never go back. Darn memory failed me.

Worst restaurant on the river. Took 15 minutes to get a server to our table, 10 minutes after that to get drinks. Waited over an hour for our meals; which then all came out cold. The restaurant was not busy at all. The server came to our table maybe twice. Service is beyond slow. We will definitely not be coming back here and I’d advise anyone else to stay away also!

Steep stairs to get to the restaurant; difficult with young children. Seating is cramped and obstructed by the outdoor heater lamps. Steak was cooked properly the first time though not especially unique or of high quality. And other meats(chicken/sausage) were great with the barbecue sauce. Children’s dishes are the usual fare(Mac and cheese etc.) but of higher quality. There weren’t many patrons but service was very slow. Managers even appeared to be struggling to find members of wait staff when verbally requested. Great food, on par for the Riverwalk, not a go to place for a steak, and service quality below expectations.

So this place didn’t have bad food, but the wait time for our meal was a little ridiculous. My coworker and I ordered a Fried pickles(delicious), BBQ platter for him and a buffalo chicken sandwich with fries for me. The quality of the food was like it was sitting under a heat lamp and for a fried piece of chicken between bread should’ve taken 5 – 10 minutes tops. NOTANHOUR! The wait staff was friendly, but full of shit. The waiter proceeded to tell us that he gave us extra fried pickles because he wanted to be nice, but as we saw two other tables who ordered the same pickles and got the same exact amount. He also told us «try the margaritas because I do have a heavy hand when pouring tequila,» I’m pretty sure that was more mixer than tequila. There are better restaurants than this place, so I recommend to walk the river walk for better quality.

Ended up here because we couldn’t decide amongst all the other shitty restaurants in the area. Long story short, this was the best worst restaurant around and this review is reflective of that.

Let’s put it this way, I got the Unilocal App to leave this review… Un-attentive and slow service, $ 27 dollar steak that tasted $ 10 quality, and was attempted to be sold street vender services 6 times during my meal. The only reason I gave the second star was because the venue was great outside! It has a nice view of the river and even though it was cold outside, they provided blankets and had heaters so you didn’t even notice. I would only come here again if the prices were lowered. Other than that — NOTWORTHIT!

First time in San Antonio and actually this was the only place that i ate at — outside of fast food. It was pretty good. the gravy as great, the fried pickles were delicious and the atmosphere overall was fun. Few musicians came by and played some music for you upon request, poncho/blankets were on the chair backs to cover yourself if you were cold… and the pigeons… oh the pigeons! they will and do roam between your legs and fly very near your head and if your lucky, they might even land on your chair. lol all part of the experience, i guess. Get on in there. enjoy the food! I say — Yes!

We stopped here on our road trip and were greeted by friendly staff, seated on the second floor overlooking the Riverwalk was an added bonus and we got to really relax and enjoy the views. The food came out quickly and we very well taken care of by the attentive waitstaff. We ordered the habanero poppers and a Cesar salad as apps, we hadn’t looked properly and realized they were chicken nuggets with a little habanero our bad, for mains we had the T-bone and the Rib Eye with mashed potatoes all was perfectly cooked and very tasty, the rib eye however won the challenge. The prices are up there but given the views it was what you would expect. I would probably return.

This café is a joke. For over an 1+hr, and still my entrée meals haven’t arrived. It’s not even that busy. And now, the manager said just now that the server gave my meal to other customers! Wow… Now have to wait another 15−20min for my 8oz steak entrée… I had high expectations for this place hoping the ratings won’t deter me away next to a scenic river to dine in. But this place is a joke. Overall, great at serving my salad with the quickness and fried mushrooms. Sigh! What a waste of time, there goes my tourist allowance to tour around downtown before heading back to the Air Force Base. :(smh! Manager said, free dessert. Ummzzz. Was hoping more than a dessert, maybe like an extra 30−40% discount on top of the bill too… For wasting my time. Considering I’m not a local, but a tourist.

This was the first place I dined on my trip to San Antonio. It was a total tourist trap. The food was just not good. Though the whole River Walk is pretty touristy, I would not recommend this spot. There are a lot of better options! It was nice to be seated on the upper balcony over looking the river, but because of the food and service, our experience was mediocre.

Tender Beef Brisket! We were looking for a restaurant open on Thanksgiving for dinner on riverwalk. There was a gentleman outside telling everyone that walked by about their steaks and margaritas. He convinced we so we went up to the balcony and asked for a seat on the rail over looking the river. The view was beautiful. David, our server, was very helpful. I couldn’t decide between the white local Texas wine and the Malbec. I don’t usually drink margaritas as they are too sweet for my taste. He brought me a taste of the Texas wine. It was good but a bit too sweet so I had a glass of the Malbec. My husband ordered their 60 oz margarita. The sip I had was good but too sweet for me. We started with fried mashed potato balls for our appetizer. YUM! I had trouble deciding on what to eat for dinner because I wasn’t really in a steak mood. No worries our server David was there to help with suggestions. I wound up ordering the combo with beef brisket, chicken, and sausage. It came with potato salad and beans. Everything was good but the brisket was amazing. It was so tender it didn’t need the barbecue sauce that came with it on the side. This was a fun romantic evening. We were serenaded. It is $ 15 a song but we were on vacation and it was really romantic and pretty even if I didn’t know the words.

I was expecting this place to be a overpriced tourist trap but I must say that the food(bbq), the waitstaff, the views, and the prices were all fantastic, even the pitcher of margaritas was strong and cheap. I love all of San Antonio has to offer, besides the Alamo, total waste of time.

Had to wait ten minutes before a waiter acknowledged us. Their iced teas are huge and really good. View of the river is perfect and up on a balcony. So relaxing. We had the bacon wrapped chicken and jalapeño bites and split the chicken fried steak.

I knew not to expect much for a touristy area but I still wanted my husband to experience dining on the river walk. Our food was decent. Our steaks were fine, not phenomonial. My mac and cheese was very close to Stouffers. His mashed potatoes tasted frozen as well. Our jalapeño poppers were tasty. Our frozen drinks were really nice in the heat. The best part? The Pecan Pie and Icecream. I’m sure it wasn’t homemade, but I enjoyed it thoroughly. Would I return? Probably not. But I would not say steer clear if you were on the River Walk.

Went here on our first night at the river walk. I thought in Texas the steaks would be huge and full of flavor. My wife and I ordered a filet mignon each. With an appetizer the bill was $ 70+. This steak was average at best. The view was great and it was safe for her to eat because of her allergies to peanuts and all tree nuts but would not return. Service was really slow and they were not busy.

I guess the saying never judge a book by its cover is true. I thought this place would be better than it turned out. Waitress didn’t know anything about menu or happy hour drinks/prices. Talking to people while our drinks were sitting at the bar melting. We asked to split the checks and she said they couldn’t do that?.. Than we explained to her what we meant and she goes«oh okay.» I know it’s a Monday afternoon, I hate rated restaurants this poorly but come on. It’s a week day, not busy at all. The service should be better than what I just experienced. Workers were yelling across the room to each other and some were even on there phones. The food was 3 out of 10, my chicken fried steak wasn’t cooked all the way, extremely chewy and my frozen margarita was melted-mine as well been on the rocks. I’ll never come back here again, terrible experience unfortunately.
