Oh Yeah Cakes

Just popped in while exploring The Yard. What a delightful surprise! I think carrot cake is the gotcha-​gotcha at bakeries. It’s gotta be dense, but moist; it’s gotta be classic but nuanced (coconut, proper raisin ratio); AND, it requires the seemingly all-​too-​tricky Cream Cheese Frosting.
By the carrot standard, I say: Oh Yeah Cakes is stellar. I’ll defend this place to hill on the basis of that carrot cupcake alone. Get the carrot cupcake.

Have you been looking all over town for a beautifully decorated cake that also tastes great? Well stop going to last resort stores with bland flavor such as Wal-​Mart or H-​E-​B and head over to Oh Yeah Cakes! Located inside The Yard shopping center, you will find an awesome bakery filled with endless possibilities!
Lori does a fantastic job on her custom cakes and brings any idea you have to life. Her cakes and cupcakes are created with such detail and flavor, it left me very impressed! Her prices are very reasonable and worth every dollar! I placed my cake order ahead of time and she had it ready the day I needed it.
She also sells cupcakes daily if you want to get a quick dessert and she will often have specials on occasion i.e. (buy 3 get one free).
I highly recommend coming here if you have a birthday or special occasion coming up, and want to surprise someone with a creative and personalized treat.
It is very much worth it!

Very cute shop and helpful person at the register! I got four cupcakes for $ 8.50. Mexican chocolate, French toast, mocha, and lemon raspberry.
Mexican chocolate: this was a favorite! The cake was moist and the ganache on top was delicious. It tasted exactly how Mexican chocolate should!
French toast: I loved the frosting and the flavor but the cake was a little dense. It was my least favorite of all the cupcakes but it was still edible.
Mocha: it needed more mocha flavor! But the cake was very moist and the frosting was the perfect amount of sweet.
Lemon raspberry: this was my personal favorite. It was very moist and my sister suspected it was a box cake but I couldn’t quite place it. Either way, I’d eat one of these every day if I could. It was perfectly balanced between the lemon and the raspberry and the frosting wasn’t overbearing.
I would definitely recommend this little shop to friends and family. It was well worth driving out of the way for :)

Came here after eating at All Aboard Deli and glad we did! We were greeted right away by a woman (I’m guessing who is the owner). She was working on some custom cakes that looked amazing!!!
They had a selection of about 12 different kinds of cupcakes. Each are $ 2.50, which I find to be a decent price for gourmet cupcakes compared to some other popular cupcake places. We tried four different ones, s’more, french toast, lemon raspberry and strawberry love. The cupcakes were delicious and you can tell they were made with love! I wish I had ordered two of everything!!!
I was telling the woman how unique of a location this is and that we had just eaten at All Abroad Deli. She told us that we could have a 10% discount because we ate next store. She was saying how they are hidden in this back area (you can’t see the stores from the street) so a lot of people don’t know about the place.
PLEASE go check this place out and always great to support our local small businesses! The store also has a little gift shop with homemade jewelry that has a very bohemian feel to it. It won’t disappoint!

I love this bakery! Lori is wonderful to all her customers. I will always go to her when I need a cake. Very talented decorator and cakes are delicious.

The atmosphere and the cupcakes were fantastic. Very friendly staff, great designs, fun décor, all of that, and the cupcakes are imaginative, and delicious! Even the to-​go packaging for 2 cupcakes was ideal. The Halloween cookies were rather delicious as well, I had a great experience and will definitely return in the near future for more of their delightfully designed deliciousness!

I came in on a saturday at 4pm and they barely had any cupcakes left so I got a chocolate cupcake with coconut frosting and a carrot cake cupcake. It seemed like they had about 7 – 8 flavors at the beginning of the day to choose from. Lori was super sweet and only charged me $ 2 for both of them because of the lack of selection. The cupcakes are a little small but for $ 2.50 each the price is definitely reasonable. The chocolate cupcake was a little dry but the carrot cake one was really good and moist. I appreciate that the cake part is not too sweet and the frosting amount is perfect. A basic 8″ cake starts at about $ 30. I would definitely come back to try more flavors, but it would have to be earlier in the day.

Lori is one of the best bakers in SA. I go for the cupcakes bi-​weekly because they are so good. The icing isn’t ruined by over-​shortening, and the cake is always moist & delish. The cupcake of the month is always good, too. My father loves the ‘Peach Cobbler’ cupcake and he is a very picky guy! Hands down Lori’s is the best. The location is great, because its located in Olmos Park which is the most central part of the city-​perfect for commute. What’s even more neat is that’s its in a Box Car! While you’re in there, make sure to check out some of the handmade arts & crafts for purchase

Best cupcakes I’ve had, ever. It’s a lovely small business and I hope more check out the place, the owner is incredibly sweet and accommodating to the customers. There are so many flavors to pick from but they have several «amazing» standouts:

Lori is one of the most creative bakery artist I’ve seen in San Antonio. Whenever I go over to but some goodies there are always some amazing cakes. I don’t even have a sweet tooth but I can’t resist her cupcakes and pastry plus Lori is sugar sweet, smart and always fixes me up with deeeelicious goodies:)

Lori Hernandez is a wonderful cake artist! She did a fabulous cake for our daughter’s 4^th birthday. Lori and I collaborated as I sent her pictures of cakes and she made suggestions and then finally she melded several different examples into a beautiful cake! She currently works out of her home kitchen as she is looking for a place to display her artful skills. Lori is extremely professional and very affordable. I would definitely recommend her. The cakes are moist and taste great and her designs are wonderfully elegant and whimsical!
