Purple Sage Salon

Norma did an awesome job. Great cut, great color, great service. Love the location cool vibe. I will most definitely come back to get my hair colored and cut again. I can totally understand how this new salon is already one of San Antonio’s faves.

Despite having good stylists, Purple Sage’s customer service is very poor. There is no waiting area – only a pair of stools in the middle of the salon, making it very uncomfortable to wait if you arrive early, have to wait for your stylist, or have physical issues with tall stool seating. The staff is also standoffish. You are not greeted when you arrive – the staff hang out in the back corner, making for an awkward, unwelcoming experience. Lastly, but certainly not least – without ever being advised of this policy or provided any advance warning – you can be «down-​graded» to walk-​in appointments only due to «violating their rescheduling rule.» This happened to me, out of nowhere, after I had to reschedule three times, even with 24-​hour+ advance notice. As a courteous customer who books in advance, tips well, gives good references, and arrives on time, I do not have time for a salon that treats its customers the way Purple Sage does. I’d urge you to think twice about going here.

Norma is the best. She listens and knows. exactly what to do. I didn’t feel rushed like how some places like to book as many clientele in one day. I had a blonde ombré and she managed to changed it into a brown balayage. Love it!

I love purple sage salon! The whole team is professional and extremely knowledgeable. I get my hair cut by Veronica and she does a great job. I love that they are an Aveda salon and sell Aveda products (they do wonders for my hair). I always leave purple sage feeling like a new woman! They also have a woman who threads eyebrows every other weekend.

I love this salon! Veronica has been cutting my hair for at least 4 years and her new location, featuring Aveda products, is perfect. Mel has been coloring my hair for about 3 years and is great. I always get compliments on my hair because of these two ladies. The experience is more than cut and color — scalp and hand massage and hot towel wrap are so relaxing not to mention the delicious hot tea. Purple Sage has an open, sleek feeling with natural lighting and the location is central to the latest hot spots in the city — near Pearl Brewery. Highly recommended!
