What a cool spot to chill at and even better that the food was good! I came here on a work trip and decided to venture a few blocks away from my hotel and explore to food truck world. At first I was a bit hesitant of the neighborhood but felt when entering the location where Sabores was, I felt like I entered a time warp from the music the DJ was playing outside. A mix of jazz and old school 60’s dance music, I was immediately drawn to this little area where there were about five food trucks lined up and ready to make food for you. I chose Sabores because I was craving tacos. The guy working the window was really nice and told me what was popular as I was a newcomer there. I got the variety of soft corn tacos and some elote corn. Bangin’! I topped it off with a cheap cup of PBR beer that was being sold nearby. Great experience and a bang for your buck.

This truck may not be the prettiest in the world but those fries w the carne guisada are the best damn thing I have ate all weekend long. The guy who owns it was super cool and talked to us for a few minutes before making our order. We will definitely return!!!

Man, I’m so full off these ifries. There are some copy cats around town but these are no doubt the OGs & the BEST! This is an awesome food truck, ran by a cool crew mostly made up of family. I love to support local, and these guys have my business for life!

We were looking for a late night Sunday joint as we were passing thru on our way to Houston. This little place is pretty cool. It’s a food truck located within a little bar and we got to watch the last few minutes of the Dallas game on their huge outdoor TV while having a drink and waiting for our food. The food was good — I can’t complain. The street tacos could use more meat though. The Torta was good, the corn on the cob was excellent and the iFries were«different» but delicious. Their $ 10 monster burrito was NOT monster size, but it was decent. All in all, I’m glad we stopped by.

Had the street tacos w al pastor and asada. They were really good and the grilled chile w the tacos provided the right amount of heat I craved.

What an amazing find for us. My wife and I had a great dinner, complete with dessert. The pork pastor is very flavorful, as are the Carne Guisada fries(Yep, that’s what I said). To top it off, the waffle sandwich for dessert was amazing. Not too sweet, but enough to satisfy the sweet tooth. Great food.

It was after 10pm on Sunday when I walked up to this food truck and got a burrito with al pastor pork. I was floored. How did I not find this place before?! This little truck makes delicious food that crushes the nearby restaurants with amazing flavor and portions. I’m a big fan and hope that more people will discover them too.

I actually stopped in to talk shop with Sabores tonight, but having perused the Unilocal reviews, I knew that people were living large on these iFries. So I order a small order, added an egg(I will ALWAYS add the egg, just fyi) and settled in with a beer. So let’s back up and talk architecture. This is a towering pile of savoriness. There’s a beautiful nest of fries, then cheese, then carne guisada, and then it’s crowned with this beautiful fried egg. It’s the stuff of your melty, meaty dreams. The carne guisada has a nice amount of gravy that wraps around the fries and, combined with the melty cheese, it coats each one in a pretty nice blanket of flavor. It’s also served with a lovely green salsa and I just dumped it in and stirred everything around until every bite was covered in greatness. I can totally see what the hubbub is about this creative street food truck. I love a good taco truck, and I love that this one keeps some puro roots in San Anto, and also experiments with some new flavors and tastes. They were parked at the Point Park, and I’m almost never on this side of town, but if I run into this truck again any time soon, I want to try more of their creations.

Order anything they have and you wont be disappointed everything I have tried has blown me away. In a town where everyone says they have the best Mexican food and 99 out of 100 is just same old same old this Is the 1 that has what it takes to be king of the hill. The love, pride and quality of what they are making and serving you comes through in every bite. do yourself a favor and track them down and meet some great new friends who will leave you smiling and full…

On vacation in San Antonio my wife and I enjoyed some delicious street food. I’m used to the«roach coach» type food but this was an entirely different experience. They served excellent food with tasty well seasoned and marinated meat. I wish this place was near where I work!

I had some delicious tacos for lunch today: al pastor, carne asada and pork in red chili sauce. They were all very good, but the al pastor was my favorite, YUM! The tortillas were homemade and soooooooo tasty!

I have to admit, I was very hesitant to try grub from a «taco truck.» Been dragged to a few here and there and just dreaded what kinda crappy meat on an HEB tortilla I was going to have to eat. Sabores has changed all that. They consistently deliver amazing food leaving this«Hard Sell» with nothing to gripe about. Al Pastor tacos? Awesome! Burritos? Delicious! Devil Shrimp Tacos? The bombdotcom! Everything(including the tortillas!) is made hot and fresh. Sabores is usually at strEAT at Rev Room on Wednesdays and they’ve become one of the top reasons why I make it out nearly every week.

As I tweeted last night(Ash, I’m sorry, chica… I had to mention the«T» word): Devil Shrimp Tacos. Yussssss!!! Went to my regular hangout at the Rev Room and of course, Sabores was there without fail. But didn’t immediately go to order since I had to get settled at the bar. And that’s where I was met with a new favorite: Devil Shrimp Tacos. My compadres allowed me to try their order and I was blown away at just how good they were. My partner in crime and I then headed straight for Sabores and saw the shrimp tacos written at the top of the menu. Consisting of shrimp marinated in St. Arnold’s IPA and coupled with shredded cabbage topped on corn tortillas and finished with chipotle cream sauce. Drooling yet? And of course we HAD to get a Slap Yo Face taco(al pastor and other yummy additions) and an order of iFries(fries topped with carne guisada, cheese, and other elements — sort of a papas locos!) to go with it. Although the Slap Yo Face taco didn’t even make it back to my seat at the bar… I dug into it as soon as I got them… just sayin… o_O Oh and another great thing about Sabores: TOTALLY open to suggestions and ideas. Many folks are extremely protective over their own creations(even when the public says different or expresses their critiques in a diplomatic way). Not here. They are constantly asking if there’s anything that should change, suggestions, improvements, etc. And your suggestions don’t fall into an open abyss either. They’re taken seriously — ask fellow local Unilocaler, Shawn G.

This truck was at The Point Park and Eats. I was so excited to finally be able to experience this place and the atmosphere. My boyfriend and I ordered the carne asada mini tacos and carne asada gorditas. The tacos were $ 7 and the gorditas were $ 8. I thought they would be delicious like any other food truck authentic Mexican street tacos. Needless to say, I was very VERY dissapointed. What we got was not even carne asada… It was a ground beef mixture that was very watery and mushy that had the consistency of cat food. Carne asada is supposed to be steak chunks. I would not even pay a dollar for what i ate tonight. There was no flavor in the meat, and quite honestly Taco Bell tacos were better than this. The only thing making the tacos a little better was the overloaded cheese and salsa. I will never come back to this stand and I am hesistant to return to The Point. UPDATE: YES this is a real reviewer and in no way am I trying to impose on this business’s reputation. But I am not in any way pleased with the food we got. I have visited several taco stands in San Antonio and am from Mexico and I am well aware at what carne asada is. What we recieved is not Carne Asada, it was watery ground beef. I am simply trying to review my experience and what I ate, that is all.

I tried the beef and chicken mini tacos and I am a fan!(5 $ for 5 mini tacos) I like it with cilantro and lime and the red hot sauce. but no onions! Their tortilla is very good also. It’s crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Just perfect! I think I’m gonna start going back here every Wednesday.

Last night I walked out of a bar frequent and to my surprise, I saw this little shack staring back at me. The food smelled good coming from there so what the hell, let’s give it a shot. I ordered the asada gordita. The gordita itself was hot, crunchy on the outside and soft inside. The topings were typical-lettuce & tomato and the beef chunks were good bite size. Although flavorful, I kinda felt there was not enough meat-almost as if the gordita needed more filling. Kudos on their avocado sauce and their homemade tortillas(they brought their dough with them and were making the tortillas while you wait). I like them but the jury still out until I sample more of their food.
