Schaner Plastic Surgery

Terrible service ! I called to make an appt and receptionist Rebecca was so rude. It seems so ridiculous to me that the physician would hire people that have zero people skills. I am a follow up patient and I used to get treated very well by a former employee that is no longer there. It does seem like they have high turn over and then I find out his staff, the receptionist is the mother in law and the help is the wife.
I feel that when you come into any office, that all patients should be greeted. That’s not the case her. The atmosphere is very cold and the doctor doesn’t even seem invested. As far as my results, I am not happy. I wish I would of looked at other reviews and now it’s too late. I showed him a pic of what I wanted and he was confident we can achieve that. It didn’t happen. Between the dr and the so called staff, I would not recommend this doctor.

I did not even get to the point of meeting the doctor because the receptionist was so rude and incompetent! I called on Wednesday, January 27 at 12:13pm and it was one of the most frustrating experiences of my life. Here is a transcript of how that conversation went:
Me: «Hello, I would like to schedule a consultation to discuss possibly having dermabrasion done to improve a facial scar left from MOHS surgery.»
Receptionist: «We don’t do that.»
Me: «Oh, your website says you do dermabrasion.»
Receptionist: «No, we don’t do microdermabrasion.»
Me: «I was calling about dermabrasion for a cancer scar, not microdermabrasion.»
Receptionist: «Hold on».
****5 minutes of hold time*****
Receptionist: «I asked another lady and we don’t do dermabrasion except for scar revision».
Me: «But that is what I was calling for, dermabrasion to improve the quality of a facial scar left from MOHS, from cancer surgery.»
Receptionist: «We can’t do that without a consultation.»
Me: «I was calling to schedule a consultation…»
Receptionist: «Well, we don’t have anyone until March 28.»
Me: «I will find a different doctor. Goodbye».
Receptionist: ***Hang up****
Wow, so rude & incompetent! I can’t even say anything about the doctor, but if he hires people like that receptionist, then I don’t want him anywhere near my face since his judgment must be sorely lacking. How very disappointing. I will find someone who makes better hiring decisions. Cancer is hard enough, having to deal with rude, incompetent people who utterly lack compassion or people skills makes it much worse.

After 3 c-​sections, losing 50 lbs, and having an infection, I decided to discuss a possible tummy tuck. Dr. Schaner was able help with insurance approval and getting all of my leave approved with my employment. I am so happy with my results!
