It’s definitely a hidden gem! Amazing prices, and the staff is so sweet and patient! I recommend sitting outside, it’s so relaxing and you definitely won’t see anyone you know! Everything is fresh and well portioned! Oh and this is definitely a place to stop for morning tacos!

My first time here was a good experience. I ordered the Mexican plate. Which of course comes with 3 enchiladas of your choice, a crispy taco, rice, beans, and 2 tortillas. It was delicious. The service was fast, and the employees were nice. The only reason I didn’t give this restaurant 5 stars is because some of the tables were a little dirty. But they made up for it with the quality of their food. I will return to give their breakfast tacos a try.

The best breakfast tacos around! Maria is the nicest woman and her food is always consistently good. The only place that I can find homemade corn tortillas.

It’s a small, but, comfortable place. They are always nice and friendly. Really good breakfast tacos. If you like your hot sauce hot they have the best red hot sauce! It’s so good! :) I tried the beef fajita taco today. It was great!

Very friendly, food tastes just like back home in the valley and we all know the valley knows how to make Mexican food… and the liquados are just how they make them in Mexico and i know about that cause I was raised in Mexico. … I recommend it for breakfast

I stopped in here for a quick breakfast before my 10:50a class. My hopes weren’t too high but I gave it a shot anyway. Best idea! The tortillas are handmade and delicious. I ordered a potato and egg and a bean and cheese taco. The potato and egg was excellent. Not too dry like at most places and very tasty. The beans are great as well. Not too greasy but full of flavor. Salsa was hot(for me, which I like). Coffee is self serve so you don’t have to wait for a refill. Great for students in rush that are hungry!

YUCK! Awful food. Ate their 2 times. Bland food, Bad service. I questioned my food and they pretended not to speak English. Go somewhere else.

Vanessa’s Mexican Food serves up good, cheap, fast plates of traditional Tex-Mex. There is nothing crazy or innovative about their menu, but I still really like this place. A small restaurant behind San Antonio College, Vanessa’s is a bit hard to find, but worth the look. The building has one-room inside and one patio outside. I generally sit on the patio, but I love to eat outside. You’ll walk in and step up to a metal stand and place your order. The staff is friendly and attentive and always willing to help and offer ideas if you’re not sure what to order. I’ve also become friendly with them over the years and they’re more than happy to let me practice my broken Spanish without judgement. Which is just cool, in my opinion. The food is great. Very traditional, standard choices but always full of flavor and delicious! But for me, what makes this place worth the visit is the staff. Hands down, the friendliest couple of ladies in town.
