I’ve been to multiple painting with wine places in san antonio (painting with a twist @ aus hwy, just art alamo heights,) but hands down Whimsy is the best. They have a variety of paintings to choose from, they provide sonic’s shaved ice, and more importantly the instructor (s) are not only willing to stay a little late to help someone who needs extra attention, but are also willing to step in and help along the way. I’ve been here twice and ventured to those other places to see something different, and i know now there is nowhere better. skip the other places and go here– you’ll have a better, more upbeat time with a fantastic work of art to take home

They let you customize colors and use GLITTER! They have chairs instead of stools and have a seating chart so you and your friends/​group will always sit together. The instructors are super helpful and this isn’t a franchise «paint and sip» place – support local business :)
It’s a bit difficult to find, the sign is red and doesn’t stand out from the building’s red brick… but parking is super easy and once you find this gem, you won’t pick another «paint and sip» place!

Whimsey is by far the best art studio I have been to. I went with a group of five and they were very accommodating and reserved seats for us together.
The instructor was excellent and walked us through the process clearly. She encouraged us to be creative and add our own artistic touches. She gave us individual instruction if we needed it and additional paint and supplies as needed.
The room was comfortable and spacious and we all had a great time. Our paintings turned out great. I have been to other amateur art studios but Whimsey is the only one I plan to return to.

The best part was Alexis, our instructor and artist. She was really helpful, caring and easy-​going. If you «messed up» she’ll guide you fixing your piece. Another plus of the night was, we didn’t feel rushed. We went over our class time and Alexis still was trying to help perfect our pieces.
BYOB & snacks is a plus. Would recommend the business owner to find an office to conduct business. The owner was on the phone talking over our instructor and class about pricing, times etc to other potential clients. It took away from the fun and worries. Other than that, +1 Alexis!

This place is awesome! My kids had a lot of fun and did some pretty cool paintings. This was their first experience with painting and Alexis made it a memorable one. They enjoyed it so much they would like to attend another class!
