Grandma makes the tortillas here(flour and corn). Grandma skill level: 999 Three Amigos Movie quote: Dusty Bottoms: Do you have anything here besides Mexican food? If you’re reading this, you need to visit this place. Wonderfully… good…mexican food at an affordable price. Blink and you’ll miss it. I googled the address and photo of the neighborhood so it wouldn’t happen to me. I found it with no problem. Their Abuela was in the house today when I stopped off with two business associates for lunch. Today featured two lunch specials: Cheese enchiladas or the puffy taco plate. Both come with refried beans, rice, two flour tortillas and drink for under $ 6.00. Good comfort food like my grandma used to make when she was still alive. Those tortillas? Man, so, so tasty. They are the real deal! It’s been awhile since I’ve tasted tortillas so home made wonderful. A large beautiful mural takes up one wall and it’s truly something beautiful to behold. I told the Abuela the man in the mural looks like me as a teenager but my mustache wasn’t as thick. We all laughed at the absurdity. I never looked that fit. Well, maybe as a newborn. I loved the food, the people and the experience. I’ll be back as this one is going on my restaurant rotation. Who comes here? Men eating by themselves, women sharing company over good food and three businessmen who support small business when possible.

This little hole in the wall is located off of Fredericksburg. Have lived not far from this place for a while and each time I’ve passed it was closed up. Finally realized it was because they close at about 2p. Glad I made it in finally! It wasn’t busy and the food was amazing! They offer daily lunch specials and I’m looking forward to trying them all :-) nom nom nom! Maybe next time I’ll get to meet Yolanda haha You gotta check this place out, great food! Great service!

The Tortillas were awesome!!! My friend and I went there for lunch. We both had the Chicken Fajita Lunch Special. The tea was additional, but the total for both came out to $ 8.16. It’s a small place and definitely has a home-like appeal to it. We asked for hot sauce and the woman who works there went to the fridge next to us, opened it up got the sauce out and brought it to our table. We gobbled down the tortillas that she brought us and we asked for some more and she brought them to us. The other cool thing about the place is the mural inside! I’ve eaten at quite a few small Mexican food places on Fred Road I really enjoyed the food at Yolanda’s. I would like to go back for breakfast sometime.

Yolanda’s is a hidden gem we found by accident and i must say I am glad we stopped here to have breakfast. The restaurant has been around for over 20 years and the outside of the restaurant is faded but don’t let that discourage you. As soon as we walked in I fell in love with the place, it is very authentic and Mexican style home cooked meals. It felt like I was at my tias house about to eat breakfast! The huevos rancheros are amazing! Next time you are in SA and are in the mood for some mexican breakfest make sure to stop by Yolanda’s Uptown Café!
