I was introduced to colon hydrotherapy 29 years by a friend. When I first started my journey on alternative health, I realized it all starts here. The years of toxins stored in my colon was a direct reflection of my health at the time.
Crystal Springs Colon Hydrotherapy has been part of my alternative healthcare regiment for the last 12 years. I have been a steady client since 2000.

First of all let me tell you about my story. I suffer from bouts of constipation. I have tried strong laxatives to Indian herbs. Everything helps to a certain degree but never fixes the issue. Then I realized well maybe it is time to do this holistically and I am so glad I discovered Irina and Crystal Springs. I have been going over 6 months to Irina (and so is my husband) and I am feeling much better. She is the nicest and most helpful person ever. She is professional and at the end of day the proof is in the pudding. I would say everyone should try colon hydrotherapy. You have nothing to lose except for excess crap in your system. Irina is the best and I am so grateful meeting her.

I feel like I owe my quality of life, if not my actual life, to Irina at Crystal Springs. I found Irina and colon hydrotherapy almost two years ago, when I was 38 but felt like 80. I had spent the previous many years neglecting my body on every possible front – eating, exercising, sleep and stress, while I poured what little energy I had into trying to be a responsible parent and a contributing member of society. Although I had no diagnosed condition, i felt like a wreck and was running on fumes, my skin was chronically inflamed, my stomach perpetually bloated, and my ability to concentrate was suffering. Not to mention, my day was one long enormous sugar craving, and I was struggling with about 30 extra pounds of weight.
At my first ever hydrotherapy appointment, I walked in to see Irina at Crystal Springs feeling like I’d been run over by a truck, and I walked out an hour later feeling like I was walking on air. For me, the difference was that profound. I felt lighter, more clear-​headed, and that deep down, unrelenting hunger for sweets that has plagued me since 5^th grade was totally gone. Somehow in the space of that one (not comfortable, but TOTALLY WORTH IT) hour, my sugar cravings that I had walked in the door with literally an hour earlier, had completely disappeared, and I was left with the most unusual thoughts of things like salads, beans, and vegetables. It was totally bizarre and unexpected. Most importantly, because this eliminated my sugar cravings on the spot, i felt like for the first time in a long time I had hope again that I could turn my health around.
Naturally, the benefits of the first session wore off pretty quickly when I returned to my usual (bad) eating habits, but Irina kept working with me, and slowly over time the combination of the hydrotherapy sessions and her dietary and supplement recommendations, she helped get me back to health.
Today I am 25 pounds lighter, my skin is the clearest I can EVER remember it being, my memory is better, my thoughts are clearer, my bloating is gone, my eating is better but also less restricted than it used to be, and I feel deeply and profoundly grateful to Irina for helping nurse me back to health.
Over the course of the past couple years I tried 2 other hydrotherapy clinics to see how they compared with Crystal Springs – Biotherapy on Arch St in Redwood City which uses the same closed system as Irina’s, and Serenity Wellness with Nancy in San Mateo which uses the open system.
I really, really liked Nancy at Serenity as well as the open system she uses, and went multiple times to see her there, but at the end of the day I find myself always drawn back to Irina at Crystal Springs, for her experience, her professionalism, her warmth and love, her profound wisdom that feels passed down from many generations, her closed system, and for the special way that she empowered me to take charge of my health, and consequently, to take back the reins of my own life. Before: I have heard about the health benefits of colonics over the past few years, the idea is that as our digestive track becomes compromised through all the chemicals, processed foods and high rates of added sugar in most foods limiting the actual nutrition gained from healthy foods. I changed my diet to include many organic vegetable, meat and fruit but now I worry that I am wasting a lot of money if I can not get all the nutrition from these great foods due to an imbalance in stomach bugs, blockages or just general bad intestinal health.
During: I looked on Unilocal for a good person for a first time experience, I have heard unfavorable recommendations about a few of the local places from friends and want to make sure I was going to be treated with care and respect. Crystal Springs was the right fit. Irina and her grandson made me feel every welcome from first moment, I filled out some forms which made me more comfortable that they were being careful not to cause more harm and to help me focus on my goals for this procedure. Irina is very helpful explaining everything, talking with me while going through procedure and explaining the best why to increase my overall digestive track help with different natural teas, herbs and foods.
After: As an athlete, specifically a runner I have done races in the past where I experienced some uncomfortable gas or stomach cramping (this is pretty common as running can be an irritant to your bowls). I had a good friend unable to complete an Iron Man course due to stomach cramping. I have never felt it that bad, but sometimes on a long run I will have to stop to find a bathroom — this has gotten better the more I have cleaned up my diet. BUT the day after my colonic I ran the 15K chocolate run in San Francisco and was really amazed at how great I felt. The first 5 miles where amazing– the best I have ever felt in the beginning of a race. I had tons of energy and felt really comfortable. I had no idea just cleaning out my gut could give me such a great run experience. My run time was faster overall, but mostly I just felt great during run and then after it. I have to say this is going to be my routine before a big event: tri/​run/​obstacle race. She might even be able to talk me into a regular schedule for general heath if this first experience was anything to go on.
I highly recommend Crystal Springs Alternative Health, the shop and machines are clean and everything is set up to make your experience comfortable, safe and to maximize the results.

I have been coming to see Irina regularly since 2012. I have had colonics in other places, including another place in South Bay. None of them compare to the quality, professionalism and personal attention that Irina brings to her work. Her office is meticulously clean, she is very friendly and does everything to make you comfortable during this rather awkward procedure. While keeping all the proper boundaries she still made me feel like an old friend from the first time I walked in the door. Colonics has been extremely helpful in helping my body detoxify and allowing my digestive system to heal from a long-​term antibiotic use. And I’ve noticed how her clients love her! I’ve heard how some travel from very far to come here and always a good relationship. I would feel very uncomfortable to trust anyone now but Irina. So I am a health care professional, I have always wanted to try colon hydrotherapy and i finally did. I am happy to say i made a good choice Irina is wonderful, she made me feel comfortable. Everything was very clean and in sterile packaging. I feel much better. I feel healthier. Glad I did it. If you are going to try this alternative option of healthcare i recommend Irina highly. Irina is the true Mother Teresa. She has the best heart in the world. She always takes care of her customers and she is the closest to a saint you will meet in your life. Some of her clients drive 4 to 5 hours one way to get treated by her. On her birthdays, clients bring her gifts, beautiful flowers, and cards expressing their gratitude for her kindness and care. It is a privilege to have her in your life.

Great Place, I’ve had this before, but not as attentive and caring. This was a great experience, and Irina, was great. She is experienced and really gives you individualized attention. One of the better Alternative Colon Health centers to go to.

Well folks, I did it! I survived my first two treatments, and I have to say I am so glad my BFF Gina referred me to Irina & Ed. First of all, if you see Irina, you will RUN to her clinic ti find out HER SECRET, I will NOT tell you her age, because frankly it does not matter, and the woman looks MARVELOUS!!! Hydro Colonic Therapy is a big contributor to that factor! Both, Irina and Ed and their beautiful pooch, Buffy, have made me feel as if I were a long lost family member.
One of their many clients is a well known celebrity, whose photograph is right in the lobby of their office, but, you will just have to make an appointment to see who it is.
Eventhough I have decided this treatment is not for me, it may be for you, one of the things I would recommend to Irina, is a better approach to selling their retail products, be strong and be ready to decide for yourself, whether you want to invest $ 425.00 on the vitamins and probiotics, on your first visit, this does not include the price of the treatment.
Otherwise as far as satety and cleanliness, this place is safe.
