I wish i could give Green Octave(in my 5 year old’s words) «infinity» stars! From the sweet smiling staff at the front desk to the extremely talented and patient teachers, it is nothing short of an exceptional experience every time we come in. I feel so lucky that my daughter and I are learning to play the guitar with Teacher Eric. I seriously don’t know how it’s possible, but after every lesson I realize that his teaching style is even more incredibly amazing than I thought it was the last time! We’re so happy to have found Green Octave!

My 7 year old has been taking piano lessons with Candice for 7 months now. She makes lessons kid friendly with games, body movement, and overall fun. No longer are the days of sitting on the piano bench and doing endless drills with a metronome. While focusing on the technical stuff, she still makes it super fun and exciting to learn and play music. One of my favorite things she does is have a little«jam» session every so often. It’s great to give kids the creativity outside of the music books. Her enthusiasm for music and teaching it to others is one of the amazing things about her. So glad to have her! Definitely recommend.

My son recently started violin lessons with Teacher Joe at Green Octave school of music. I wasn’t sure how things would go, and since violins can be pricey, we started by renting one. However, my son really enjoys Teacher Joe and the violin, so we’re now fully invested(just purchased my son a Mendini). My son has to practice a lot, and it’s really great that he’s becoming so musically inclined. I wish I learned as a youngster, and am considering taking lessons myself. My daughter will also soon enroll in their group class lessons, and my wife and I are really glad our family found this music school and can celebrate each others’ new found talents(I’m not sure how confident I’d be at the performances, but we’ll see). Thanks Teacher Joe and all of the staff at Green Octave!

Excellent Music School! Their music director Benny Yu is the most dedicated music teacher I have seen so far. His passion for music and his dedication to his students is simply commendable. He is a very involved teacher and is equally involved in making sure that all the teachers at Green Octave meet certain standards. He is so involved in all the activities of his school… I am certain Green Octave will go places because of his involvement and dedication. My daughter developed a strong liking for piano just because of teacher Benny. He really has a great way with kids and an impeccable talent of getting the best out of them. Always encouraging them to do better than what they can do. And the only school where they don’t time you by the minute, but rather focus on getting the piece right. Many times the classes have overrun by 10 min or so just to make sure she got it right. Give you feed back after every class… give enough chances to kids to perform on stage… I am all praises for Green Octave

My 6 year old son takes piano lessons with teacher(and director) Benny and we can not say more praise for his teacher and the school. Benny is very knowledgable teacher not only about playing piano but also on diferent teaching strategies. It is great to have teacher who realizes that same model does not work on all kids. My son loves to play piano but we still get weeks when he is not very excited to practice. Benny told us to not force him to play and it has helped tremendously. Benny also always gives one extra«challenge» song to play at home and my son almost always enjoys the«challenge» and works hard on the song because as my son puts it «teacher Benny is very proud when I play well». I have never met more enhusiastic and loving teacher. It is pleasure to bring my son and see his teacher’s enthusiasm every single week. My 10 year old daughter takes classical guitar with Matt. Teacher Matt is very knowledgable and still competes playing guitar. Matt is not as outgoing as Benny but my daughter loves lessons with Matt for that reason. She has quiter personnality and she feels heard every time. We just had our recital and I can not believe how well my daughter sounded playing with her teacher. I also like confidence she had that she will not make any mistakes and I believe it came from teacher Matt preparing her well for the recital. The recitals are always very well organized and never behind. My kids got to practice on the grand piano before the recital started and it gave them a feel what it will be like during acctual recital. I like that they break recital by younger and more advanced students so you only stay for half of the recital. Kids got a certificate and a medal and my kids were very proud of having a medal for their hard work throughout past year.

My son goes to Green Octave with teacher Benny. He has to be the most patient and creative piano teacher ever. Boys don’t always sit tight, yet teacher Benny has infinite number of ways to grab my son’s attention, and even brighten him up if he is not in the mood to touch the piano. He also paces the lessons to fit my son’s progress, and sometimes challenges my son to try something beyond his level. I love it! I wholeheartedly recommend parents to just set up a trial lesson with teacher Benny! It’s free, so see for yourself! P.S My son also goes to his choir class too.

I am a big advocate of music education and I think Green Octave provides many opportunities for children as well as adults to immerse themselves in the joy and wonders of music. The staff if very friendly and very professional. They are able to answer any questions whether you are completely new to an instrument or music or if you are intermediate to advanced. Dedication and passion is very important in the music business and I guarantee that both qualities can be found at Green Octave!

We are so glad to have stumbled on to Green Octave! What a find! The learning environment is great, and the quality of instruction is remarkable. Our son loves his private lesson, and we are blown away by how quickly he’s progressing. Can’t wait until our younger son is old enough to start!

Darn it. I wanted to be first especially since my review will be a highly biased. The owner is my brother. Enough said? I’ll keep this nice and simple sticking to the facts and my personal experience. Green Octave School of Music staffs very established musicians with extended training and portfolios. Feel free to ask about their creditials. They offer simply the best to develop every individual’s potential to explore and learn music ranging from individual to group classes. Beyond music training, They also offer music developmental and appreciation session such a Mommy and Me classes. My family and I were at the grand opening open house. The instructors encouraged everyone to be hands on with the instruments. My two year old were banging on drums, touching the strings of a guitar and violin, and ripping up the piano even Jerry Lee Lewis would do a doubletake. Ok fine, she was banging on the keys like any hyper kid while I played her the alphabet song. But we had a great time. You may not be impressed with my experience, but a two year old never lies. She was definitely channeling her inner musician at Green Octave. Give it a go.

My friend, whose kids go to the learning center next door, tells me about this new place as I am in the process of looking for a music school for my 8 year-old child. I decided to drop by one day last week and checked it out. The music school is located in a strip mall with Kumon Learning Ctr next to it. Use the learning center as your landmark as it can be tricky to find. As I entered and walked down a short hallway, I was greeted by a gentleman, who introduced himself as Nelson, at the receptionist area. Business license with owner’s name, Nelson Kwok, is visibly displayed behind the receptionist’s desk. The lobby is modestly furnished with a nice white leather sofa, a white cabinet with flat screen TV on top and magazines in the shelf. Water cooler next to the sofa, and a corner table the other side of the sofa. I asked for a tour of the place. There are about eight rooms, can’t recall exact number, each with a piano in it. There is a slightly larger room with a drum set and other instruments meant for band practice. The rooms feel just right, and ceiling is tall. There is a large room in front, left of the hallway, for larger performance/audience, and lessons. The green and white interior wall colors are calming; a warm learning environment. The rest room is large and good for wheelchair access. They even have little step stools to accommodate children. Mr. Kwok introduced me to one of the piano instructors, Benny Yu, whose fingers floated across the piano keys effortlessly as he demonstrated to a student. I also saw a printed bio of another experienced music instructor, Mr. Kang. Mr. Kwok and Mr. Yu appeared very nice and sincere, not pushy or bragging about their credentials. I have a good feeling about this tour and this music school compared to couple other ones I have visited. As school term ending shortly in couple months, I’ll definitely give it a try by enrolling my girl here for the summer, and maybe longer if it goes well. And I like the logo on their business card: a sprouting seed turns into a big tree on the other side of the card.

I’m so glad I ran into this school. No complaints. I’m sincerely glad this place settled in close by my home. First of all, it’s great for families. They offer classes for children as well as adults. I’m eager to start learning guitar again, but I’m now tempted to revamp my piano skills too. They offer training in nearly every instrument, and offer both group and individual classes. I’m really impressed by the highly qualified instructors. You can either stop by and talk to them or call and schedule an appointment. They’re really friendly and flexible. I felt very encouraged as an adult that it’s not too late for me. And I’m glad my children will have the opportunity to develop their music talent early. The location is perfect. It’s next to a martial arts learning studio, a Kumon tutorial center, and a My Gym playground. It’s a one stop drop that I can take my whole family to. I could probably get paid to bring the neighbors’ kids to this place!
