I ordered the Regular size Combination Phở. Verdict is a OK. Soup, checked. Noodle firmness/softness, checked. Various beef parts, checked. It’s definitely a repeatable dish to eat. I have one reservation tho… its close to $ 10 after tax… It may be because the neighborhood is generally expensive. I can find just as good quality in Fremont for only $ 7.50 after tax.

Unfortunately this place was very disappointing. My bun be hue was basically phở with some chili oil in it. Noodles were also sparse. Won’t be coming back here.

Never disappointed, simple easy for lunch; the large bowl is pretty big!

Food is good but not great. I would like to think that I am not a picky eater. If I like it than no matter of how the restaurant décor is. No matter of how expensive or cheap it is. This place is good with their Phở. It is flavorful but not other dishes. I had almost everything here but only a few things I seem to go back for. Their phở of course and the fresh rolls is also very good. Not everyone have the same taste buds so… try it and hope you like the other stuff more than I do.

We got take out for 5 adults and overall the food is what you would expect from a strip mall Vietnamese restaurant. For the most part the food has a mass produced feeling(especially the rice, noodles, sauces, etc) and was nothing to write home about. If you have an environmental side, be prepared to be shocked. There was an outrageous amount of plastic for a takeout meal. The real kicker was the cost. This place was easily twice as expensive as what it should be. Overall, there are simply better food/deals out there, just take the time to find them.

Water tasted more normal this time. Compared to Phở New Saigon in foster city(which I think is the best Phở locally), this place gives bigger bowls, more noodles and less meat. The broth is on the lighter side but I think it’s fine and the noodles are rather plain. I really wish theyd add more meat though. Overall good comfort food when you need it.

Meh, it’s ok, but I’ve had much better phở and other dishes elsewhere, like Phở Dong in redwood city. The«large» phở that I ordered wasn’t particularly large, had relatively little meat, and the broth was way too salty. My wife had a beef & rice dish that was nicely flavored but kinda boring. There are lots of better place than this, and I don’t foresee going back.

Good food and decent service. It is near the train so it gets a bit loud.

DELICIOUS!!! The large bowl is HUGE!, but it’s possible to finish the entire bowl down in less than 30 minutes! The tasty noodle soups are slurpity good! Great looking ambiance and service is nice. You WILL have to get up and pay your bill if you want to expedite your leave, because it can get really busy at lunch! Prices are nice, food is tasty, service is fast… There’s not much more to say!

Great place for phở. They also have a tv with great tv shows. Great sprouts in the food and the spring rolls are delicious. The service here is excellent and the atmosphere is great. I love the ambiance and décor. The staff are great, very accommodating, very friendly, and they all smell real good.

Have always wanted to try this small Vietnamese place. Finally did… ugh. Food was okay, nothing to write home about. Spicy beef soup(bun bo hue)(3 stars) — super spicy when I asked for medium spicy. It was tasty enough but too spicy to be enjoyable. Phở noodle soup(3 stars) — okay, but nothing to write home about as I’ve been spoiled by good phở at other places. Service was very friendly. But the lasting impression of this place is the dirtiness. Everything just seemed unkempt and dirty… the floors, the tables, under the tables, the hallway to the bathroom, etc. I found it ironic another Unilocaler said«4 stars for how clean this place is» back in 5÷30÷2014. From what it looks like, they may not have really cleaned this place since. Bottom line: Okay Vietnamese food but I felt like I needed to take a shower after going to this place. Phở Vinh, do yourself a service and get a nice deep clean of the place.

This is my guy’s go-to place for phở so he always wants to come here. I’ve had Phở Tai Gan(round/rare steak with tendon noodle soup), bun bo hue(spicy beef vermicelli soup), and hu tieu(pork noodle soup). All were just okay. The hu tieu lacked flavor and it was the phở noodle when I was hoping for a different kind. The phở was decently flavored and had a decent amount of meat but I’ve definitely had better. Same with the bun bo hue, I look for a spicier type and this one lacked a little in that. Next time, I might for extra spicy and see what happens. The service is extremely friendly though.

The phở is good. Not the best that I’ve had and far from the worst. They have a good selection of typical Vietnamese restaurant phở’are(ok, that was bad, I admit it). They sometimes have specials, like handmade noodles or something off menu that makes for a special treat. They get an extra star because the service is outstanding… and they also now accept American Express, because of the register upgrade.

Good food with homey flavors, but high prices. Dropped in on a lazy Saturday evening wanting something comforting but not too expensive. Somehow, we walked out paying almost $ 50 for two people. Price aside though, the food and service were pretty good. Shrimp spring rolls — well fried with nice sized chunks of actual shrimp inside. However, no sign of the rice paper mentioned by others. Bun bo hue(spicy beef noodle soup) — very good. Unlike other places, the broth is not red. The spiciness comes from the soup being infused rather than having the spice added after. This comes with shredded cabbage on the side in addition to the usual mint/basil/sprouts/jalapeño/lime combo. Shaking beef — very tender pieces of beef. The only thing we wished we had was the lime dipping sauce that is sometimes served at other places. Wait staff came often to check in on us. Food comes out pretty quickly.

I stop by this place when I’m at my office in San Carlos, short on time, and need a big hot bowl of phở. I usually avoid this place and try to go to the Foster City phở place if I can because it’s cheaper and more authentic/better quality/better tasting but if I absolutely need phở and I’m in San Carlos, then this will do. The prices are a bit higher than average phở but maybe because they’re the only phở restaurant and the next one is within a 10 minute drive to San Mateo or Foster City but can seem quite far when you’re already in San Carlos? The egg roll appetizers are a joke. Way overpriced, teeny weeny, greasy, and the texture and taste seem like they were previously fried then refried. Do not confuse this with the deliciously freshly fried egg rolls from other phở restaurants. The phở is ok. It will do. I thought i was the only one that thought their broth was lacking flavor. There’s not much meat or noodles and the broth tastes very instant like hot water and instant broth mix… but if you’re settling, like I said, it will do I guess. The rice plate is mediocre tasting and skimpy. Compared to other more authentic restaurants, this is overpriced based on quality and portions. I don’t mind paying more for better quality or better service or better portions but uh. not here. Here, you just pay more. Tip: The place is small and they are always busy around lunch time with the groups of techies so wait time might be longer.

I was their second customer of the day. I walked in about 10 min after opening and they were ready for me! I was able to sit down and order pretty quick(but I also knew what I wanted). I love phở, grew up eating it. So I can be pretty picky. But this place wasn’t bad. I came in because I was sick and needed a phở fix bad. So I got just that, a fix, it wasn’t anything special. Not too much meat and the meat that was in the bowl was also thinner than most. To be honest, the broth and noodles tasted like some instant phở I have had before. The staff are all superrrr nice and friendly. They continually checked in on me and made sure my soup and tea(which you have to ask for) were good. They made the experience quite pleasant. Overall, nothing spectacular, but enough for a quick fix. But I’ll be back for a fix again im sure. Also, the price was a little on the higher side for the quality.

This place was unexpectedly, really, really good! It’s in a tiny shopping center next to a tanning salon, and we stopped in for a quick lunch. Outstanding customer service, really nice plating/presentation of all the dishes, and excellent food. We had the phở tai and pork spring rolls, and both were excellent. I eat a lot of phở, and this had a light and flavorful broth(not oily, not bland) with fresh sides(basil, lime, jalepeno, bean sprouts). The spring rolls were also really fresh and flavorful. It’s cheap, fast, and delicious. I live in SF and wish there was a Phở Vinh near here.
