Best Thai food! This Thai restaurant has become the bar that I measure all others against. Great service kept our waters filled and made sure we had what we needed while still giving us time to enjoy our meal. Thai iced tea is great here. We always have to start with an order of Enchanting Fried Wontons. Jade Garden Beef is my go to, always done perfectly.

Was pretty good food it has a great flavor. I ordered to go and bought an iced tea while I waited twenty minutes. Never asked for a refill but food was good. I personally thought the chicken pad Thai was very dry.

The food tasted really good but I didn’t feel good next day. Probably the tofu. Not sure. Had spicy fried rice with Tofu.

Excellent Thai Restaurant! A family-owned restaurant for over 30 years. Every dish that my friends and family have tried were all very fresh and delicious!

I believe this business is family owned because the same caring friendly employees are always here and they treat you like you’re family. Their food is always delicious and big servings. enough for left-overs. The restaurant itself is super tidy and service is always super fast. Parking is quick and easy and the menu is very affordable. It’s my favorite Thai spot in town I’m so glad I found it!

Best Thai around — love the drunken noodles and Panang Curry. Small place that is also good for take out. I wish they would deliver because I love this place!

My fiancé and I have been here before it was our go to Thai restaurant in San Clemente. I would give them a 5 for food. That being said I have to give them a 3, it seems like the portions for dinner now resemble a lunch size portion, and I cannot recall paying an additional $ 3.25 for white rice when I order Curry. Also service was a bit slow we were one of 3 tables no more than 6 people in restaurant and the server did not refill water, or ask if we wanted another Thai iced tea. :/very disappointed will be looking for new Thai restaurant in that area.

This place has the best pad Thai in San clemente, granted there aren’t many choices. But it was definitely a good place and couldnt complain. Can’t wait to try more dishes

We decided on not coming here, but decided we would give them one more try. Mistake. Having gastrointestinal issues after last visit. Nothing tasted that fresh. I wish this were not the case, but we are not coming back. Why can’t downtown have a thai restaurant that’s good, idk.

3.5 stars. The crying tiger was super fatty and wasn’t great. My three sevenths of the rainbow or heaven or whatever fried rice I ordered was delish… with sriracha of course. Had the combo appetizer and honestly, the fried spring rolls and wontons were the only thing I would order again. Quaint little setting, nice servers and well dressed old man who I think owned the place. I’d go back for sure.

Very authentic Thai food and some of the best that I’ve had in SC so far. I love Thai food! When I first moved to SC I went on a hunt for the best local Thai restaurants and really didn’t find one in SC that I was over the top with.(One more to try) I’ll create a List showing them in order once I’m through. Truth be told, I’m trying to replace the one we left in Ladera Ranch Diho Siam. So let’s get back to Mongkut! LOCATION&ATMOSPHERE(Rating 3) This place is small and dingy in my opinion. I’m all for a hole in the wall, but a little updating is needed if you ask me. SERVICE(Rating 4) We came tonight with a group of 7, so we weren’t exactly an easy table to handle but the service was pretty good and the waitress was nice and had a nice sense of humor and patience as we were all talking for quite a while. TOMKHAKAISOUP(Rating 3.75) So this is my favorite Thai soup and Mongkut did a pretty good job with it. It’s a coconut broth, cabbage, cilantro, green onion and chicken soup. The balance of sweetness and spice was nicely done but the chicken was a bit over done which you find allot in soups like these. I would order it again though. #34YELLOWCURRY(Rating 4.25) This is an Indian influenced curry with chicken and potatoes. At many restaurants, the potato can consume the texture and drain the flavor from of the curry. Not so, tonight. I was extremely happy with the flavors and the size of this dish as well as the thickness of the sauce.(It was a between a thin to medium thickness) There was also plenty of sauce to use with the rice which always makes me happy. #36GREENCURRY(Rating 4.5) This comprises green curry, chicken, eggplant & Thai basil. The thickness of the sauce was a little thin for my pallet but the flavor rocks! The eggplant was perfectly cooked and the thai basil sets the spice level low but you know it’s there. Anybody would like this dish.

Thai food has always been a favorite of mine and I’ve worked in a Thai restaurants for years. This pace is excellent. Small but it packs a punch. Lunch specials are amazing. IE: ruby chicken. But there dinner menu has over 150 items of delicious food. Gina has been my server several times is very knowledgeable on the menu and super attentive. Love this place right downtown. P. Ate here our first night in town. Well, we got food here and ate it in the patio at the beach house. Food was excellent and the service was typical Thai, friendly and fast. No hassle regarding a to go peer either. Some places get irritated with to go orders but it was no problem and this way we were able to pick up a pizza next door for the girls and head home to lounge around.

Their soup here is my favorite! I have yet to find another place with a soup as good as theirs. It is so delicious I cannot get over it. I am going to miss it when I move back north. The only bad thing was that they forgot to give me my side order of rice to eat with my soup, but I had paid for it. I did not think to double check my to-go order, but I guess that is my own fault.

Great! Yummy pad Thai, great peanut sauce, and the service was great! We had a group of five, at peak week time! Each of us got something different, had great food and ambiance was perfect! Great location, can’t wait to come back!

My sister seriously paid me in food to help her build her apartment, and Mongkut Thai was another place she grabbed food from to feed me with. We ordered some pretty basic food items: Three Sevenths of the Rainbow fried rice, Pad Thai and Yellow Chicken Curry. Everything was pretty good, though I personally think it’s a taaaad on the pricey side for average Thai food. But I guess with limited choices in San Clemente, there really can’t be any complaints. Calling in the order was easy enough and my sister simply drove in, paid and picked it up. As far as I know, there was no hassle.
