Mo is great– super friendly, knowledgable and efficient. He replaced the battery in my watch in under one minute (seriously) and it cost about $ 12. I’m so glad that all the positive Unilocal reviews led me to About Time. All-​around wonderful experience.

When I walked in with a Chelsea ship’s clock Mo assured me that he was an expert. Multi generations, he himself over 10 years… In his response to my original review he talks about not meeting my expectations for a decades old clock! My expectations were to replace a mainspring. It turns out that it’s a simple 5 minute job where only the spring subassembly requires removal. It ended up costing me hundreds more to repair and replace parts that were perfectly ok, but somehow couldn’t escape being disturbed, broken, or reinstalled incorrectly. I stand by my original assessment of this person’s inability; I would not trust him to change blades in my box cutter. The attempt to qualify himself by insinuating that my expectations were extraordinary is pitiful.

I never knew this shop was here. I was given a watch and needed it resized. Stopped in and paid $ 10 to have the watch fit to my wrist.

Stopped in a few years ago to get a simple battery replaced, and was so impressed with the friendly, efficient customer service and the prices that this place has become my go-​to spot for watch repair. I like watches and have a dozen or so, from inexpensive Skagens to a couple middle of the road Tags and Movados. This shop handles them all, and cleans them up so I get my watch back in 24 hours looking brand new. He will do a quick battery while u wait, but since I moved out of town, I save all my work for him when I visit SD and dump 3 or 4 on him and pick up the next day. Most batteries under $ 20, more for high end watches, but still less than any mall jeweler. One of these days I will break down and buy a Rolex or an Omega, and will probably buy it here, but even if I don’t he will inspect any watch I am thinking of buying before I close the deal to make sure it is authentic. Most highly recommended.

This place is fantastic! Mo, the owner is a very knowledgeable and kind person. He didn’t push me to get something I didn’t want and helped me out finding the one I did want! The prices are very fair and he is a great business owner. I bought my first watch from Mo about 6 months ago and have no complaints. I will definitely be buying my next watch from About Time. If you’re looking to work with a good straight forward honest man, visit this shop. You will not be disappointed.

About Time is by far the best watch repair store in San Diego. The owner, Mo, has exceptional customer service and reasonable prices.
He serviced my Rolex, and gave me a history lesson at the same time. The servicing was fast, orginally told me two weeks, had my watch back in one week. Looks brand new again.

Ummmm, I’m gonna go with five star service. I used Unilocal and saw this place was close to my house and had 4.5 stars so I walk in. Two guys pleasantly greeted me and I told them my precious tactical Nixon watch had not been working for about a year and it was time for it to come out of the jewelry box. I was confidently told no problem! And to give them 5 minutes. The wife and I waited outside in our golf cart (yes that close in the neighborhood) and people watched (no pun). After a few minutes the nice man came out and said, «All set»! I paid $ 10 bucks and some change and they cleaned and set the watch. The shop was well lit and the display cases were clean and enticed me to maybe take a glance at something I don’t need? Anyway, I have to say, they went the extra mile and it was truly a 5 star service, plus a small neighborhood shop so I felt good about that!

I love when I walk in a business and immediately get a smile, eye contact and a hello. It’s the little things. Add to that great service and exactly what I wanted in under 3 min… AND I just realized Moe adjusted the watch to the correct time. These guys are awesome! Looks like I found a place for all my watch service needs, score!

I had a really tricky Tag Heuer serviced here. They got it fixed up and working perfectly. I am really satisfied. The even went the extra mile and cleaned it for free. I’ll definitely be coming back here and would trust them to work on any watch I have.
It is hard to find a place that does good work and doesn’t gouge when they work on quality time pieces. This is that kind of place.

I brought in my Tag Heuer watch in to replace the $ 100 rubber watch band (yes, $ 100!), because the rubber piece that holds the excess strap was broken. He instead gave me a spare one he had lying around and politely refused to take my money. I then asked to have my battery replaced but he said that it wasn’t time yet and it was an expensive and complicated process. Boy! He jokingly said he wants my money, but only when it’s the right time. How often does that happen?!
Thanks Mo! I’m telling everyone I know about you and «About Time!» and I’ll see you when my time is running out.

Mo knows his watches! I purchased a pre-​owed Rolex from the jewelry exchange a few months ago. I brought it to about time to get check it authenticity. Mo was able to explain to me everything I need to know about my watch. I agreed to get it serviced because it was ABOUTTIME. He let me know that I would be about 1 ½ weeks till I would have it back. Lucky for me it was done within a week. Perfect for me because I missed it the moment I dropped it off! Now I know it’s authentic, cleaned inside and out, and I have someone I can trust with it.
Ps. He is a watchmaker not a jeweler. Takes great pride in his work!
