AJ Hunter Massage

After years of working with AJ he continues to give the best treatments, it’s more like therapy than a massage. Anyone who I refer always tells be that he is the best and that is why I never hesitate to tell my friends about him.
He simply is the best.

I’ve been going to AJ now for over 2 years and I’m ashamed that it’s taken me this long to tell the world how great he is… actually, no, he’s one of those practitioners I only tell my good friends about so he doesn’t get so busy that I can’t book an appointment with him.
Truly a professional bodyworker that listens to what’s happening in my body and addresses my stretching and flexibility needs. I always book a 90 minute massage since he acts as my monthly preventative care for my lack of stretching normally.

I have gone to AJ for the past 4 years. I had visited several massage therapists prior to finding him, but have had no desire to try anyone else since. I see him monthly. AJ listens to what you are want, and spends time diligently delivering. He is professional, his studio is clean and tastefully decorated. He is super respectful and he has strong hands. AJ’s massages are as good as it gets.

First person who
listened to what Ii explained was painful and felt ‘stuck’ in one place. AJ answered all my questions and listened to my whining that I haven’t been able to move my neck away from my shoulder in two years! The pressure was EXACTLY what I have been looking for in a massage session. Thank you to my sister for the gift certificate! I am looking forward to my next session!

The massage I had today with AJ was phenomenal. I cannot wait to go see him again. I am so pleased with the experience beginning to end. I’m so excited to have found someone I feel confident in seeing regularly to keep my work related back pain under control. He exceeded my expectations and I can honestly say that the massage today was amazing and was more than reasonably priced. I felt so comfortable and he made my day!

Good day all, I wanted to tell you all about AJ. To sum it up, «He knows what he is doing.» I found him on Unilocal and did a little interview via email. His educated answers got me on his table and his body work will keep me coming back. I had the 120 min deep, deep tissue massage and requested he add in some stretches. I left with a spring in my step, was not sore the next day and 2 weeks later still good. That man knows muscles and is gifted in his craft. He was able to find an area in need, work it out, stretch it and then it released right under his fingertips. That is a gift! Trust me, I worked in the physical therapy field for 15 years. When you know what you are doing it is hard to find someone who can do a good job and AJ can. He has my seal of approval and would recommend him to anyone. Thanks AJ!!!

I’ve been getting massages for a number of years now. I’m happy to report, after several visits to AJ, that he is one of the most professional and proficient massage therapists I have ever been to. He is consistent and an expert at his work listening carefully to you and the needs of your body. I would highly recommend AJ to anyone seeking message therapy.

I have been seeing AJ for the last 2+ years and cannot imagine using another massage therapist!
He ticks all the boxes: great office location w/​easy parking, friendly, caring, listens to your needs and wants, flexible massage times, very knowledgeable of the body and muscles, and is a overall great person.
Before finding AJ I have tried several different therapist and know how hard it can be to find the right fit. Try AJ out and I bet you won’t be disappointed.

I had a pregnancy massage a few weeks ago with AJ. I was really hesitant to go, but I am so glad I decided to! He’s such a nice guy, very knowledgeable about the body, and really good at massage therapy. Ill definitely be going back!

I’m so glad I was referred to him by another friend because I would hate to have missed out on such a great experience. AJ greeted me the moment I come in to his studio and he took the time to get to know what my needs were so that he can cater to it. He’s very personable and thorough with is initial intake. The facility is small, clean and quiet. It really takes you to a more serene place away from the stress and chaos of the real world. The massage was amazing. I must have dozed off after a few minutes because I was so relaxed. He really got to my troubled spots. His technique is pretty unique. It was a different approach from the basic massages I’ve had. It’s hard to explain but just think of your shoulders and how you would expect someone to attack it to get to the problem. AJ took a different angle but still hit the right spot.
I’m definitely going back soon. I work out hard and this is going to be my reward to myself =)

AJ is not only a sweet and charming individual, he is absolutely intelligent in what he does to heal the body. I am an athlete and I go in to see him once a month to fix what I have broken down. He personalizes every visit based on what you need for that appointment. He truly is a gift. His prices are absolutely affordable and you won’t be disappointed. If you have some injuries or just a tight spine/​hips from too much sitting and working at a computer, get a deep tissue massage. It is painful, especially on sensitive areas but well worth the after effects.

Had my first massage with AJ today. Decided to book an appointment with him based on all of his stellar reviews — and I’m here to say he probably gave me the best massage I have ever received. I would give more stars if I could. Very courteous, very professional, and most importantly, very good at what he does.

I’ve been getting massages from AJ for over a year now and I’ve always been happy and satisified. He is a great therapist. He’s techniques vary and caters to what you are looking for and need. He’s attentive to your needs and very personable.
AJ’s new place is nice, clean and feels like home. I’m glad he started his own practice. I hope he’ll be around doing this for a while cause I would hate to find another one like him!

I just had my first massage with AJ this weekend as a birthday present, after hearing so many amazing things about him. And it was all true! The best way to describe the experience is: spiritual.
I prefer deep tissue, and by nature those aren’t the most ‘relaxing’ of massages, but I was in a complete trance for the whole 90 minutes. I told him of a pain I sometimes get under my shoulder blade but couldn’t quite explain it anymore than that, and he found it and worked it out like a surgeon; with precise, and purposeful movements. I have never had a massage therapist pay so much detail to an area I had a problem with.
As others have said, he utilizes various techniques that I have never experienced in a massage before but work amazingly well together. And you can tell that he is molding the massage as he goes along based on what your body is ‘telling him’. It is certainly not a ‘generic-​same massage for everyone’ massage.
Lastly and just as important, he has a personality to match! You can clearly see he is passionate about what he does and takes your well being to heart!

Hands down, AJ is simply the BEST massage therapist I’ve ever been too. and I’ve been to dozens. Unlike so many other therapists, has a rare combination of talent, knowledge, and caring that sets him apart from the pack. I’ve never been to someone who so obviously cares about their clients experience, demonstrates that each and every time, and who takes massage to a whole new level. My body has never been so relaxed! I sure hope he never moves away or I may just have to move too!

When my massage therapist told me she was moving to Atlanta panic instantly set in to the point of a near anxiety attack. She recommended that I see the massage therapist that she regularly saw, which was AJ. I had no idea when she recommended him that my self imposed anxiety would vanish immediately upon meeting and experiencing his technique. The instant comfort and nurturing I felt from the first session with AJ has lead to the healthiest therapist relationship I have ever had. He is extremely empathic when he works, knowing exactly where to go to relieve «issues» that are effective and long lasting. Because of the hectic, over achieving lifestyle I live, having AJ apart of my life keeps me balanced and happy. Now that he has his own studio my dream has come true.

AJ is the best massage therapist I’ve ever had, and that is saying something because I am picky and have had plenty of massages across several states, due to my chronic back pain. I always get 90 minute deep tissue massages with him, and I highly recommend this memorable indulgence.
AJ’s style is unique in that it incorporates several different approaches and strikes the rarely achieved balance between deep relaxation and pain relief. He has the perfect balance of strength and sensitivity. He is extremely intuitive; like a pain-​seeking missile, he knows exactly what to do and where to focus, so I don’t need to say much. And perhaps what sets him apart from others the most is that it is very apparent that he absolutely loves what he does and cherishes the human body, leaving me feeling welcomed and special.
On top of all this, he’s a very sweet guy with a gentle and nurturing energy. I always leave our sessions with eyes half-​closed, floating on a cloud of bliss! Thanks AJ, and see ya soon! :)

WOW, what else is there to say?
AJ is an amazing massage therapist. He’s been at the Knot Stop for a while and has broken off to start his own massage practice near Hillcrest on 4^th avenue.
Within the first few minutes I felt so at peace and comfortable in the new space and was able to relax like I never have before. I’ve had many massages and have trusted AJ’s bodywork for years now. However, I must say that this was by far the best massage he has ever given me. You can tell that he has taken great care in preparing the space so that you get the best experience ever. It was the first time I have received a massage, left the table, and not been able to form a coherent sentence. It really was AMAZING.
Aj’s hands speak for themselves but you also couldn’t find a nicer and more caring person. He takes great care and pride in his work, his clients, and it shows. Whether you are looking for a pregnancy massage, hot stone, swedish, or deep tissue, AJ does a great job customizing each massage experience to make it your own.
