Almost all our home is furnshed with Mid-century furniture. We have bought in Palm Springs, in New York and some collected over the years. Our best buys have been from Ambianic in San Diego — Excellent prices and genuine quality. The owner, Pablo has a very good eye, chooses quality pieces and sells them for very fair prices. Glad he now has a website we can go to. We have had a lot of compliments(and offers to buy!) on our dining table.

Super over-priced! One chair I saw, was nothing special, the legs on it were actually wobbly, and it was priced for $ 850 bucks! WTF! The owner is strange. No two ways about it. Best to talk to your customers and act like you actually appreciate them coming into your business. Probably won’t be back.

I found a fabulous mid-century wall unit at Ambianic through their website. The price was excellent(I have been shopping for a piece like this for a few months) and the owner, Pablo Romo, was extremely helpful and answered all my questions via email. He delivered the piece to my home and assembled it for me for a nominal fee. I couldn’t have asked for better service and I have received many compliments on the wall unit — it’s the find of the(mid) century!

I had a quite unsatisfactory experience here, that when I went to write a review, the business listing did not exist and I went ahead and added the business listing so I can tell people about my said experience. I was out going to other Mid Century stores just having a nice day out looking at pieces I’d like to add to my collection. We drove by this place and decided to stop in on an impulse. The owner(?) was inside busy with another customer so we looked around. Once he was done(owner?), he walked by us, without a hello or any greeting. That isn’t really a big deal, so we kept browsing the store. When he came back in, he told me to «Be careful.» Now, one would assume what he meant by this is his CONCERN for my well being, he was worried that I, his customer would hurt myself on his wares. NOSIR, with his tone and his body language, what he meant by «Be careful.» is that I shouldn’t touch his stuff and I am wasting his time and should leave soon. Now, to give him the benefit of the doubt, I stayed a little longer and tried to be friendly and ask questions about his business and to show that I am interested in buying something from him. I am in no means an expert or a seasoned collector. But I at least know what some pieces should be priced or the general ball park figure. I asked him about a piece and he very bluntly said it was $ 750. $ 750, for a piece I have seen in many other places not even being priced close to $ 50. After that, I just left and will not come back. With many other Mid Century stores available, on this same street even. I have better choices.
