I’ve debated whether or not I should write this review. Ultimately, I decided that a heads-up regarding the frustrations I experienced may be appreciated by individuals who consider hiring this company. Blaring radio stations. Loud singing and whistling. Shouting, yelling, and even arguing. All of these things you can count on(in Spanish) if you hire Applied Painting unless perhaps you explicitly request otherwise. I recently endured a week(~7:30AM to ~6PM most days) of this carrying on when my landlord hired this company to do some exterior painting in my 4-unit apartment complex. Most phases of the window border/sill painting process – scraping, sanding, priming, painting – aren’t pleasant to the senses, but more often than not these guys seemed to go out of their way to be inconsiderate. More frustrating than my days-long headache was the fact that most evenings a thick layer of paint dust was evident throughout my entire apartment, even though it was mostly the exterior parts of the windows that were being painted. The workers used no type of barrier or drop cloth – a method/courtesy I thought was fairly standard – to ensure that the dust stayed outside.(They partially opened the windows to sand, prime, and paint the inside part of the windowsills.) Incredibly frustrating to have my furniture coated with gray filth, cleaned, and recoated with gray filth for several consecutive days. The workers also took up precious street parking with their 2 utility trucks and a trailer, which is totally understandable, but why was the trailer left on the street overnight after each day? I interacted with the workers a few times, and they seemed genuinely nice; they just had little respect for the tenants while working around the property. An experience that I’m happy is in the past.
