Excellent service and delicious food! Warm, bohemian atmosphere. Always love when we’re served bread and butter to start. We shared the truffle fries and duck confit mac and cheese. The portions were plenty enough for both of us. The duck confit mac and cheese was rich – a great choice for a great price! Our waiter Tyrone took very good care of us. He was very kind and attentive. They started to set up for live music on a Saturday night and we tried to extend our meal with dessert so we could hear the musicians but we were just too pleasantly stuffed. We would love to return to catch the show and dessert.

I am so angry! I’m furious! I literally have been living down the street from this place for a year now and I’m just now trying it when I’m about to leave! When I came there were two musicians I believe Rita and Ric Ross? I’m kidding. The song selections were a great fit for the ambiance. They were very personable too. Our server was incredible. As you can tell I’m not good at names, but this young lady timed everything perfectly and was amazing. I’ve never come here before because I’ve Ben skeptical of the food but it was great. I ordered the chicken pot pie that came with a salad and my husband couldn’t stop eating my food lol He order the sexy steak burger and although it was good it would’ve been a lot better without the barbecue sauce. All in all, this place is good as fu*k and it’s great for date night or a night alone for dinner. Don’t wait as long as we did to try this place!

Located on the edge of good and bad and nice to have on the edge of our neighborhood. Nice little place for a romantic dinner. The review is for the desserts and they are worth a visit. They are pricy but downright amazing. About 6 bucks a pop, but a nice special occasion treat.

Wow! You should check out Date Night on Tuesdays at the Bistro! What a great deal! Share a salad or appetizer and 2 people order an entrée and you also get a bottle of wine! All for $ 65. My fish tonight was amazing and the couscous was perfectly cooked and not dry! All 7 of us had amazing meals!

We had a great time here on Friday night. The live music was perfect as it was really good and not too loud to hold a conversation. I had the brussel sprout salad with salmon. It was sooooo… tasty. My husband had the short rib fettuccine. his was so good he ate the leftovers the same evening. We also shared the peanut butter bomb – super rich and more than enough to share. The services was great – we brought our toddler they were very accommodating making him a fresh fruit plate. We’re definitely coming back!

This place is amazing. a real gem worth driving to! We live in North County, but drive down to Bistro Sixty about once a month for the food, DESSERTS!, and music. Saturdays there’s a two-man band(guitar and sax) that play light jazz out on the patio. The food is outstanding, service is great, and the ambiance is perfect! Our family favorites here are the Mac & Cheese, fish tacos, and their fish specials(always great!). Plus the desserts … get a dessert, they’re amazing!

Ok maybe I was expecting too much from a place with such good reviews but I left feeling disappointed. Came here for my birthday lunch date with a girlfriend, the food was sub par at best. Deep fried calamari, poor quality and caeser salad that had about a bottle of dressing mised into the browning lettuce. We split a tirkey burger, didn’t stand out at all. Now the only good part of the afternoon, dessert. I had the salted caramel cake, friend had the chocolate decadence. Both were very nice, could only eat half so we had some leftover. I had hoped a famous dessert place would have a nice espressp or cappuccino to accompany cake but we were told they only offered standard coffee. Anothet disappointment… i do not think I would make another trip to this place. If you are in the area, definitely stop in for a dessert to go, but for anything more, don’t waste your time.

Just a little constructive criticism here. .. my husband and I had just one night together this week due to our busy schedules, so we planned a date night on Friday at Bistro Sixty. I had been there once before with a friend for drinks and liked the atmosphere and the live music, so I thought it would be a romantic experience. We arrived a little late for our reservation, and all night we felt as though we were being punished for it. It was as if they didn’t want our business. When we arrived, we looked around and there was no signage or indication of whether we should wait or seat ourselves. A man who was sitting at the bar eventually stood up and asked how he could help us. A second man, who led us to our table, barely looked at us. After being seated, we waited for over 15 minutes before we were greeted. I didn’t mind because after all, we had been late, but even after the server came, he seemed rushed throughout our meal. I ordered a Moscow Mule, but they were out of vodka, which surprised me. I realize that they’re known for being a wine bar so perhaps they didn’t anticipate needing more vodka on a Friday night. The bottom line is that I know it was relatively busy, but it was supposed to have been a special night so I was hoping for more. I did like the ahi tartare, but the macaroni and cheese my husband ordered was nothing to write home about. The live music was nice.

This place is in need of a serious upgrade… And I’m not sure how«clean» this place is. On the way to the restroom, I saw the cook playing with her phone — this has to be a health hazard since I’m would bet the phone wasn’t sanitized and she wasn’t wearing gloves. The service was mediocre and left a lot to be desired. A big pet peeve is when the waiter brings the check without clearing the plates. The food is not at all worth the price either. The Caesar salad was drenched in a boring dressing and the calamari was entirely too chewy. Don’t waste your time or money.

Went here with my boyfriend for dinner tonight. The atmosphere is great. Good décor as well. I had got the Mac and cheese which I thought was great. My boyfriend has gotten the bistro burger that he wasn’t pleased with. He said it was very burnt. The service bummed me out. We had a waiter that wasn’t educated on the menu at all. Knowing that this place is a great choice for wine, he had trouble remembering the ONLY2 beers on tap. We overheard other waiters in the room that were great! So he definitely needs to learn the menu more.

Tried this restaurant a few times to support a LGBT owned establishment. Brought a few people to this restaurant and none of them were impressed with the food, the location or the prices. On my last visit here I was very disappointed with their service… employees including the owners were unfriendly and even one waiter argumentative … Even though this restaurant is near my home I rather drive farther to get a more decent meal or spend time with friends over coffee and dessert…

Came here on a Thursday night with a few friends. Amazing service, great drinks, and the BOMB shrimp pesto flatbread! Seriously you guys need to check this place out. My friend had the turkey burger and he said its the best he’s ever had. Go here. You’re welcome.

Gave it another try. My advice: Fire everyone and start over. Prices are insane, service is nonexistent, and calling the food mediocre is being generous.

Love this place! It really classes up the college area where there aren’t any choices for fine dining. Owner takes pride in dishes and desserts are amazing!

Was told by Open Table that they would have a special Mother’s Day brunch menu, as well as a full menu and complimentary champagne for moms. No champagne and no full menu. And, although they had a nice room with regular tables and live music, they wanted to seat us at a tall bar table. When I asked for a regular table in the other room(which was almost empty) they hesitated and had to ask. I thought maybe there was a party expected, but we just left and the room is now totally empty. The food was good but not great. Eggs were burnt and bacon was soggy even after requesting it to be crispy. Cappuccino was huge but could hardly taste anything but milk. They did give it to me for free as they didn’t have the free champagne. So that was nice. But we probably won’t be back, unfortunately.

Ask for the bacon with grease. Got a side of bacon for their bunch but the bacon had little bits of white fuzz all over. Turns out they used a cloth to try and soak the grease out. They had no problems cooking up some more bacon for us. Food was alright. Service was good.

We have only had lunch at Bistro Sixty once so far, but we came away with a very positive impression. We ordered the Prosciutto Caprese Sandwich with basil, tomato, mozzarella on grilled foccacia which was delicious. Nice combination of flavors with these ingredients, none get in each others way. As a side you have a choice of salad, fries, chips or onion rings. I went for the rings which was a good choice, they were well cooked and not greasy at all with a nice flavor and a smooth batter. We also ordered a chicken pot pie which was very good with a flaky crust and a delicious flavorful filling, with small pieces of chicken and vegetables in a light delicate sauce. — There are several other things on the Lunch Menu we want to try including: the Panko Crusted Chicken Salad with Mango, avocado, grape tomatoes, red onion and honey vinaigrette, the Bistro Burger with Angus beef, brie and sun dried tomato pesto and the Chicken Club Sandwich on a croissant with avocado, bacon, lettuce and tomato. The Dinner Menu is much more extensive and that is obviously what they specialize in, so we will have to come back for Dinner. At lunch there was only one other table occupied. Seating is comfortable and is either inside, or outside(which used to be the entrance porch of the building). I prefer the outside because there is more light. Service by the owner Mark, was quick, friendly and efficient. He is a friendly guy and we have some friends in common which is nice. Parking is on the street, or in a small lot with about a dozen places. We had no problem finding parking. I will be updating this review as we have more items on the menu. There are several items on the Lunch and Dinner Menus that interest us, and we would also like to try the breakfast there. To me first impressions are important, and this one was a good one. Good to know there is restaurant a cut above the rest in this area.

Really nice service — they were really attentive about what we ordered and described all of the ingredients. The design is excellent with distance between tables so you can eat intimately. The food. We just got a cheese plate($ 14) which was really good. About the Tuna tartar with avocado($ 11) really poor portion and flavor. About the drinks we got a Stone Pale Ale beer($ 6) and my girlfriend a cup of Italian white wine($ 11). Completely overpriced. I valued that restaurant with just 2 starts because I left paying $ 44 bill just for some appetizer but paying like I would for a dinner in other restaurants.

I seriously have NO idea what everyone(including a mention in San Diego Magazine) is on about with this place. My wife and I came in for dinner, and it had it’s own character. A trip to the bathroom will explain what I’m talking about. But honestly, that’s fine. Every place doesn’t have to have a half million dollar buildout, but it does need to have excellent food. Especially at the $ 20 per plate price point for an entrée, and it didn’t. It’s basically cheesecake factory food(rich indulgent courses) at above cheesecake factory prices and smaller portions. The live music was fun, the crowd was fun, our waitress was excellent. It just didn’t excel at what it should have. The food.

Stopped in for lunch at the SDSU area bistro. Ordered the Sun Dried Tomato and Chèvre Quiche. The crust was substantial, yet flavorful and crumbly. The Chèvre melded with the fluffy eggs to form a velvety rich inner, and the base layer of sun dried tomato added a earthy sweet counter. Ran the gambit on desserts. Marble Cake — Moist, airy, triple layer cake. Peanut Butter Bombe — Deep rich chocolate bon bon, covered in edible gold dust and topped with a dollop of peanut butter mousse. Mind blowing for a chocoholic. Carrot Cake — Tradition, run of the mill carrot cake. Nothing to see here. The waiter recognized my addiction and was sweet enough to comp a mixed berry tart, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Mixed Berry Tart — raspberry, blackberry, and cherry pie filling packed in the center of a coarse sugar crystal coated strudel. Superb. Excellent service, and great food with a mastery of all things dough. Will return.
