Hole in the wall, but hits the spot. I had a giant breakfast burrito, chorizo, egg, potato with fresh OJ. My destination was for across the street, but long line and high prices. Small, clean, orderly with very nice staff. Two tables inside, two out.

Not sure why the bad reviews on this place. This shop is located in beautiful Little Italy area and have not had a bad experience here. Their customer service is not top notch but they are not rude i have been helped by two ladies and have seen them be very helpful to their customers. This is a place for a quick bite to eat, you order your food at the counter or call it in and you pick it up once its ready. My visits are during lunch time, they have sandwiches, tortas, wraps, burritos, green drinks, natural juices, Mexican treats, breakfast food. Etc. I choose this place for lunch because the food is cheaper here compared to other locations in the area and good quality. So far I have ordered a carne asada torta and a chorizo torta and their fresh lemonade. Everything has been delicious. When i first ordered my carne asada torta i actually received a shredded beef torta, idk if they ran out or made a mistake, or if thats what they call carne asada but it was sooo good i didn’t mind the mix up, the chorizo torta was good too. I have yet to try their other items. If in the area and need a quick bite this is the place to go.

I stopped in here for breakfast before a meeting I had in Little Italy and ordered their all beef chorizo breakfast burrito and a cup of their drip coffee. The burrito also came with a side of house salsa( ). The burrito was of average size and arrive nice and warm( ). The chorizo was good, perhaps a little dry, but one thing I know it need was more chorizo sausage mix with the scrambled eggs because the chorizo flavor was very mild( ). This chorizo burrito was different, in that they added lettuce and tomatoes, which I liked. I felt as if I was eating the healthier version of the burrito. I guess that was a good thing. The coffee, not sure of the brand, was very good. The side of salsa was okay. It offered a mild flavor with no heat( ). The lady who runs the front was pretty nice. She likes to hang out in front of the business as the day progresses and when there is no one in line. They have a small amount of seating inside and outside.

I work right around the corner and have given this place a number a chances to redeem themselves. But ultimately Breakfast at Stephanie’s just doesn’t cut it. If they get my order right(how hard is «no mayo please»?) the sandwiches are very basic, but good. The service, at it’s very best is lackluster. Most of the time the employees seem put-out by my presence. At worst the service is inattentive and rude. I’ve been told by an employee(at 11am, door wide open, specials sign outside) that they are closed. I’ve even been blatantly ignored. Whatever you do don’t order drinks. Iced tea is a tea bag in ice water. Iced coffee is hot coffee poured over ice. But the iced mocha is by far the most hilarious… it’s a cup of milk with a quarter inch of Hershey’s chocolate syrup at the bottom. Not a drop of coffee! It’s a $ 3.25 chocolate milk — that you have to stir yourself! They tout freshly blended fruit juices. I ordered the pineapple once. They must have used the blender for something other than juice prior because my juice tasted gross, like garlic or something. The place is kind of a dump, but it seems clean at least. I honestly don’t know how they survive and manage to pay their rent. They have a small shop in a prime location in Little Italy. I can’t imagine how they compete with 7 – 11, let alone the other cafes and restaurants in the area. TL;DR is that the sandwiches are simple and reasonably priced. Stay away from the beverages.

I mean it’s a super-fast breakfast place, no more no less. I got a breakfast combo with eggs mini pancakes and hash browns. It’s about two dollars more than the same items at a fast food joint and definitely tastes better. It’s a quick bite kind of place with passable food. I will come by again if ever in a rush in downtown San Diego.

I should have check Unilocal before going in… Iced coffee was the worst I’ve had, mcdonalds makes better coffee. They put hot coffee in plastic cup and filled it with ice? Definitely got my money back for that, but still gave the breakfast burrito a try. I paid an extra $ 1.00 For hash browns in my burrito and they basically gave half a scoop. The whole burrito is eggs. Hardly any ham or the hashbrowns I paid for. Definitely will not return and I don’t recommend this place to anyone.

Stopped in while at the ArtWalk fir a cup of Hot Chocolate, The wait was Terrible! most people were ordering food. I just wanted to warm up with some hot chocolate. I would have given them 4 stars if they didn’t completely forget about me and my single cup of coco. The Price $ 4 for a Large Hot Chocolate, was pricey too. Hot Chocolate was delicious …

2.50 for a bagel and butter? Butter seemed very off tasting. Costco dessert? Very odd.

Definitely will not return. Annie H was spot on – this was such a «weird and bothersome experience.» They were advertising acai bowls and so I decided to walk in and try one instead of the regular place I go. I ask for one and the lady said«we don’t have acai.» She doesn’t apologize or say«can I get you something else» …nothing. Don’t get me wrong, I am not the type of person who wants their a** kissed by cashiers, I really just wanted my coffee and acai bowl but if you are clearly advertising something then for God’s sake apologize if you don’t have it. Next I ask for a large coffee because I wanted to give her some business. The place looked like it was in desperate need. She asked if I want milk and I said«no, cream please.» Sure enough, they don’t have cream either. There’s something seriously wrong with a restaurant with«breakfast» in the title that doesn’t have creamer for coffee. Call me picky but people are probably going to order coffee and people are probably going to like their coffee in a variety of ways. Anyway I just got black coffee that I would cream at work. At this point, I am wishing I just left after she said she didn’t have acai because this is Little Italy and there are plenty of places I can go to get what I actually want but I hand her my card and not surprisingly the lady has a problem with the fact that I am paying with a debit card instead of cash. Well, here’s the deal, I expected to be spending 8 bucks in there on my acai bowl and coffee but that didn’t happen. I get it, charging a credit card for $ 2.00 is a pain in the a** but if you have already disappointed the customer then just do it. That’s what owning a business entails: customer service. After I said I don’t have cash, I don’t know what she was doing, she just started looking through papers and I just stood there because I didn’t know what she wanted. So finally I said«I’ll get a Torta.» I like tortas — definitely heavier than what I wanted to eat this morning but I was feeling charitable since I had been there at least 6 or 7 minutes and nobody else walked in. The torta came out fairly quick and then I pay and of course all of a sudden she is cheerful and sweet when it comes time for me to sign on the tip line. Finally, I get back to the office and open the bag and here’s this loose sandwich not wrapped in anything. She gave me a paper bag with a torta full of scrambled eggs plopped inside! I grab the stupid thing out of the bag and it falls apart. I must say, I have never ordered a sandwich to go that wasn’t wrapped in some sort of paper. This is standard, no brainer, bare-minimum stuff that even the most sleezy of places would do. Not this place! Wow. All in all, this place so clearly tried to cut corners any possible way they can that it was a terrible experience. I wouldn’t be surprised if the muffins for sale were from Costco and marked up 200%.

dont waste your time trying this place. it was such a weird and bothersome experience. the bf and i wanted to get something light for a quick lunch so we decided to try this place. i walk by it almost everyday and it seems to have pretty regular business, so why not. we ordered a buffalo chicken wrap a carne asada torta and an iced tea. easy enough right. she said that she would bring it out to our table. we waited, and waited and then she walked out on her phone and said our food would be right up, and then she left the restaurant. and we then waited and waited and waited. about 18 mins had passed and she came back from getting ice probably at 7eleven and said is your food not out yet, still on the phone. so she went back and got our food and brought it to us. when we started to eat my bf opened up the torta and there were literally 10 little pieces of carne meat. it was a joke. mine was super small and mostly filled with lettuce. i guess you really do get what you pay for. i then had to go and get my iced tea which she said that she would bring out and i said that i would just wait for it and waited another 5 mins for it. it was so bizarre. we were eating our food and then she went outside again on the phone and left for a while again and i went up to the counter to ask for more iced tea and the cook told me someone would be with me in a moment. i waited again another 5 mins and no one came to help me. she came back and asked me what i needed and i asked for more iced tea and she said she would bring it to me, again i was like i will wait for it, and i watched her this time and she pulled a single tea bag out and was brewing it one glass at a time. no wonder shit takes so long. never again will i go here, this place will not last long. this is not the way to run a business.
