They have really good burgers. But for me, it is their empanadas that are off the hook! I have had both the beef and potato and shrimp empanadas. They are good size and taste sooooooo good!!!

Bought food from this food truck a few times. A lot of flavor on their food. Very good food. French fries had a lot of flavor, excellent. The bowl was good as well. I think I had the beef bowl.

WOW. WOWWOWWOW. My wife and I have been around this planet twice now, so when I tell you BESTSANDWICH ever, please believe me. If you have see any of the Food Network shows like Chopped, Bobby Flay, et al. then you know how hard it can be to construct the perfect bite. The Cubano Cuban sandwich is OFFTHESCALE. The plantains are done to perfection(no easy feat). Exact amount of spice to portion size. Just incredible. Prices are so good, you think you are getting away with something. The food truck movement is the fastest growing food segment in the US, and these guys make it obvious why. Their locations are at — and we WILL be following them around.

This food truck has started making visits to Mira Mesa(Cornerstone Ct E & Pacific Heights Blvd) on Tuesdays and Thursdays for lunch, and good thing! The empanadas are savory and well-spiced, and the Jibarito sandwich is like an explosion in your mouth. An awesome, delicious explosion. Keep coming back, guys!

Wow! Great food and great prices. This food truck came to my apartment complex last night and this was my first time ordering from them. I ordered the Shrimp Empanada($ 5) and the seasoned fries($ 3)…the amount of fries you get is easily enough for 2 people! Friendly staff and quick service(of course I was the first one there when they arrived on site!) I want to try the Tostones next time!

I was walking my dog after work and decided to walk by the food trucks over at Innovations Academy. It was close to dinner time and I noticed a truck I hadn’t seen there before so it piqued my interest. When I saw they had tostones, I had to try them, but I also wanted a real meal. The island bowl was the way to go – beans, rice, and your choice of beef, chicken, or shrimp. I had the beef – good portion size, good flavor, not too greasy or salty. Best of all, it came with 2 tostones. Good way to go if you want to try a little of everything. Fast and friendly service.

Any menu that has an empanada is an awesome menu… and it’s even more awesome when the empanada actually tastes good! Ordered the large empanada with shrimp and it was delicious! The shrimp were on the small side, but the flavor was great. The crust was crispy and flaky just like it is supposed to be!

They have a ton of delicious looking options that I want to try. I ended up going with a chicken Island bowl which was so incredibly flavorful that I basically inhaled it into my lungs. If you’re in their usual area or see them in the Quartyard downtown give them a visit, and at $ 7 is fairly reasonable for food truck cuisine.

I had the Cuban Sandwich. Bread didn’t taste good. My mother thought it was okay, but I couldn’t even finish my sandwich, It was that bad. Nine dollars and I had to toss it. Did not enjoy it at all. Service was good so that’s why I leave it 2 stars.

Well the guys working the truck were super friendly! The food came out in like two minutes and the taste was just phenomenal! Best tostones I’ve had in a while! The bowl I think is the way to go cause it’s got everything you need! The portion is perfect and tostones again are to die for! If you like Caribbean food then you’ll love this truck! Hope to find you guys again! Keep up the good work!

Saw this food truck for the first time at the Mission Valley Food Truck Fridays. I ordered the Cubano Sandwich and substituted the fries for tostones. It was delicious! The sandwich had a very decent amount of meat, with good mustard and pickle flavors. The telera bread was grilled on butter, and the cheese(don’t remember what kind it has) was melty and delicious. The tostones had a garlic aioli that complemented them well. I’d be very interested to try more of their offerings. Next time you see this truck, check it out!

This week was the first time I have seen this truck at the downtown curbside bites food truck gathering on Wednesdays. It was the fact that they had tostones on their menu that made me choose them. There were a number of menu items that I wanted to try(the Cuban sandwich, the tostones cups, the jibarito sandwich, empanadas) but I settled on the tostones sliders. They were good. They use tostones instead of a Hun for the two mini burgers and the sandwiches are served with seasoned fries. The sliders were definitely interesting. I think next time I’m going to go for the tostones cup and an empanada.
