Great owners, friendly service and fantastic food! Try the torpedo!!!

I work right up the road from the deli and this is dangerous.
I’ve had a few of the sandwiches off of the huge menus and I am very happy with my choices. Good prices and made quickly.
I’ll be back to try more items on the list.

Got the breakfast burrito. Was pretty blah plus they don’t give you any salsa on the side If I go back it won’t be for breakfast.

My company orders from Chesapeake Plaza Deli very frequently so I was lucky enough to be introduced to this place through a lunch meeting :) I am absolutely in love with the Vegetarian Sandwich! Fresh, soft bread with quality, fresh veggies! We are talking avocado, tomato, red onion, cucumbers, green bell peppers, sprouts (a MUST for a good veggie sandwich) and here is the kicker… a generous layer of cream cheese to bring it all together. I love this sandwich! (As a matter of fact I think it is even better than L’il Pepper Deli but you can’t go wrong at either place). They also have awesome (peanut butter) cookies. I also love the ease of ordering. I am able to order everything online, including any «Special Instructions» and choose a delivery time. Delivery is available for a $ 10 minimum charge and the 1^st mile is free. And it doesn’t stop there! They not only offer a very large variety of hot or cold sandwiches, they also have wraps, pizza, burgers, salads, smoothies, lentil & rice dishes, soups, fries, onion rings, desserts… TALK ABOUT VARIETY! The only thing is… I am not sure I will ever be able to order anything except that yummy veggie sandwich, but then again, they also serve breakfast! Oh, and did I mention that the prices are totally awesome too? Keep up the great work, quality and service CPD!

Great sandwich spot! Any sandwich can be turned into a wrap (plain, whole wheat, tomato and jalapeño I believe). It will be busy around lunch time, which is to be expected, but you can call ahead or order online.
There are a few tables to sit outside and eat right there.

The employees here are so nice and fast. The sandwiches and wraps are generous and delish… and I just discovered they have gluten free bread! Highly recommend this deli. What a hidden gem!

Amazing food, friendly staff and you can order online so when you come in it’s all ready to go. They’ve improved a lot over the last year. I love their Torpedo sandwich, very tasty and always fresh! Place is hard to beat.

Joe made a roasted veggie Wrap that was AH-​mazing with chipotle sauce and hummus. Something new and delicious! But then again, I’ve never had anything that was not pleasing to my tastebuds =)

I had a BBQ sandwich today that was excellent. The meat was tender, smoky and flavorful and topped with Hawaiian-​style cole slaw all on a warm Hawaiian sweet bun. I would highly recommend it!

This place is fantastic. They always have something for what you’re feeling and only use the best ingredients. Everyone is welcoming and friendly too, which makes this my daily lunch spot.
You gotta try the Italian Stallion. It will change your life!

I wish there were more people like Joe and Rosa around, they are always so friendly and willing to help. I love starting my morning with a coffee and bagel. I can get food anywhere, but you can tell that they really care and that’s what keeps me going back.

Responable food for the captive corporate audience. Owner touts to be an executive chef (doubtful) as he sits on his perch and dictates to his unfriendly, unhappy staff. Fresh ingredients and good prices.

Typing up «deli» in Unilocal in the Kearny Mesa area is like a gold mine, there has to be more delis per square foot in this area than anywhere else in San Diego county. Chesapeake Deli is a popular hole in the wall deli located in the large glass Sharp building off Clairemont Mesa Blvd. with the only entrance being off Farnham street. The parking lot here is quite crowded from the large amount of offices located in this building. Fortunately for the Chesapeake Deli, they have spots reserved up front just for their customers (
). While I came here at around 1045ish, the deli was not busy but the employees were, getting catering orders ready to go. This place has a massive catering operation going. Like most delis in this area, its a Monday through Friday business with a focus on breakfast and lunch time hours only.
Inside this deli you’ll find they have breakfast sandwiches, lunch sandwiches, salads, wraps, coffee, pastries, a very large menu and offerings here (
) They also have a fridge full of sides, yogurt, boiled eggs, pasta salad etc (
) right next to their drinks. A chicken sandwich with a garden salad sounded like a good deal to me, the sandwich was about seven dollars with the salad going for $ 4, a little steep for the salad if you ask me.
The #28 Chicken supreme (
) came with chicken, bacon, mayo, cheese, avocado, tomato, lettuce and onion, I had to request that it be grilled like its counterpart #27. The sandwich (
) was alright, it didn’t blow me away mainly because the bread was completely squashed and due to the over abundance of mayo it was soggy. The chicken breast was good, moist, and cut into perfect chunk slices for the sandwich. They were skimpy on the avocado, they couldn’t have even added a ¼ of a avocado to the sandwich, that was a disappointment. Like I stated before, it wasn’t bad, and it wasn’t good.
The side garden salad (
) came in a little plastic carton and contained romaine, peppercinis, cucumber, tomato slices carrots and a little bit purple cabbage. The veggies tasted crisp and fresh as the veggies were cut just that morning. They have a large selection of dressings to choose from, I went with the red pepper vinaigrette which had a spicy kick to it.
Chesapeake has a large menu of sandwiches, I’m sure I would really enjoy this place if I found the right sandwich for me, but the chicken sandwich I had here was suffering ratio problems with way too much mayo, lack of avocado and the bread was just too mushy. The salad was a bit overpriced to me, as you could get a Ready Pac salad much larger and more variety from a 711 for a better price. I don’t want to condemn Chesapeake, I will definitely come back and try it again.

The company I work for recently moved into a building across the street so we decided to try this place out due to sheer proximity. We’ve now eaten there every day for a straight week for either lunch or breakfast! There are over 100 items on the menu and you can apparently walk in and ask for something not on the menu too! It appears to be family owned and run, the food is fresh and fast, and there are various random sundries and knick knacks sold there as well which is pretty funny and awesome. Live hd the gyro salad, the egg white avocado and cheese album, a turkey avocado wrap in a sundried tomato tortilla and their chili. All delicious, very reasonably priced and paired with a friendly staff. Will be a regular here!

What a great find across from my recently relocated office! Joe and Rose are the sweetest people and the menu selection is huge. Fresh ingredients and delicious food! I love supporting family businesses… I’ll be a regular here for sure!

This is a small deli located in a corporate building so don’t look for a separate building like I did. The people working here are very nice. I was able to use the free cookie deal on Unilocal when checking in (yes!) and selected from 4 options (choc chip, choc, white mac, and oatmeal raisin). I ordered a turkey breast sandwich on a kaiser roll and it was very fresh and very good!

I was literally across the street from this place attending new employee orientation all week. This deli is fantastic. Thank you Joe and the lovely girls at Chesapeake Plaza Deli! I appreciate your knowledge and understanding of my gluten intolerance. Thank you for providing the best gluten free bread I’ve ever tasted (and I’ve tasted a few). I had the turkey sandwich with all the fixings including bean sprouts. The sandwich was so delicious I had it two days in a row. And today I had the ultimate breakfast sandwich on gluten free bread. Fantastic!

Excellent food and service.

I eat here way to often but I can’t help myself because there good is so good. I have tried almost everything on the menu and everything is phenomenal. If I’m super hungry or need lunch for two days I get the Italian Stallion. I eat the Chicken Philly at least twice a week. My favorite salad is the The Plaza Salad, it is light and refreshing and you dot even need any dressing. The best thing about this place is they offer gluten-​free bread and soups. I love chatting with Rosa and Joe they are always such a delight.

The Italian stallion sandwich is the upgrade version of the classic Italian. You can’t go wrong when avocado, bacon and a hard boiled egg is added to a classic! I mean those three items will make any entrée that much better on its own but all three on a sandwich! The sandwich size is pretty good, not massive but you dont feel like they skimp on any ingredient, and your guaranteed to leave satisfied! (Check in for the free bigger than normal deli cookie!) Being that its tucked in a corporate building does not take away its quality, i definitely recommend this place if your looking to dine in or stop buy during your lunch break. Did I mention that you really feel like the produce is fresh, we’ve all experienced janky produce where the snap is not there. All of their Ingredients taste fresh and delicious!
