This place is really fun. The rooms are big and clean and the sound is excellent. The food is delicious too. Try the Korean boneless chicken wings! Only 3 stars though because we ended up not getting at least half our food order. We eventually just cancelled it after over 2 hours.

After a fun and memorable experience the first time around, I decided to hold my hubby’s 40th birthday bash here. We reserved the biggest room, which holds up to 30 people(but they have to be really skinny people if you want to max it out; we had about 24 people and it was just right). The staff helped us select the right menu for our guests and they brought out two of each of those dishes for appetizers and main course. We had 20 dishes total and it was more than enough. The bar assigned one girl Amy to be our waitress for the night. She helped me set up my decorations and would appear at our door within seconds every time we used the call button. Most of our friends had never done karaōke before(unheard of!) and they thought the set-up was perfect. I think we may have won them over for life. Everyone had a terrific time. We’ll definitely be back. A lot.

This karaōke place is ok but if you try to sing«What Do You Mean» by Justin Bieber the system has a glitch that specifically skips that song and that happened to be the only song I wanted to sing.

Not only are the karaōke rooms here awesome, but they also have really good Korean food and cheap drinks. The bar area is spacious and clean. They have bar seating or booths you can sit at. The staff are always friendly and provide amazing service. As for the food, I’ve tried their ramen, fried rice, bulgogi fries, bulgogi, pancakes, etc and they are all really good considering it’s bar food. As for the karaōke rooms, you get your own private rooms and pay an hourly rate. You can order drinks and food into the room while you sing your heart out. Overall, this place never disappoints. I always have a good time as it provides entertainment, cheap booze, and authentic Korean dishes. It’s really great for birthdays/parties. I think I’ve already celebrated 2 birthdays here! :)

I go here a good amount and surprised I haven’t reviewed it yet. Prices for the room are decently priced and they give you a discount if you order food and/or drinks. But who doesn’t order drinks when they order karaōke? If you’re not feeling like soju, ordering a full bottle of liquor has decent prices too. Their happy hour is actually pretty good for drinks as well. $ 3 for regular shots(like jameson) or $ 5 shots(hennessy /patron /top shelf). For food, I really like their Parmesan garlic wings. You can also get them spicy. I’ve tried the other sauces and they’re more on the sweet side. There’s a bunch of rooms but can get pretty full during the weekends. You could also call in your reservation but who knows when karaōke will go down. They have a bunch of songs and do tend to update their song list. Microphones are corded but they generally work well. I did have a problem with the large room where the microphone cord didn’t reach the far end of the table. Staff is super nice here and service is quick when you want to order something. I never have to wait very long for food to come out either. Bottomline: Drink, Karaōke, Drink more, Eat, and have a good time here. I’d probably opt for eating elsewhere first and possibly snacking here after a few hours of karaōke and drinking.

I went here for my boyfriend’s work get together. They had reserved a room & the room was huge with a U shaped seat around a large table, enough to fill a room of about 16 comfortably(there were about 12 of us). They have 4 karaōke books out, a few with different languages, with a ton of songs ranging from classics to brand new ones. Our service was okay. The staff was very friendly however, they said that if we needed help we could use the call button but whenever we pressed it, no one came. So we had to go out to the bar to order whatever we needed. Also, they were forgetful at times & needed to be reminded about our orders. Soju — We had a couple of flavors but they were not strong. I believe you can ask for them to make it stronger though. Sweet flavors. Bulgogi Taco — $ 3 during happy hour. Yum!

The happy hour deals are amazing! $ 18 for a an hour and an hour free if you spend $ 10 per person on food/drink. Well we stayed well past happy hour and the prices were still pretty decent. They come and kick you out at most places when your time is up but this place just let us keep going and before we know it, it was 4 hours later. They also carafes of yogurt shoju which is dangerous. They also have food! The one down fall or challenge would be that the remote is in Korean. You have to ask them to show you the 3 buttons that you need and you’re good!

Korean-style karaōke place that’s great for large groups. It costs about $ 30 per hour and you get a discount if you purchase food/drinks. The song choice is pretty great for Korean songs(of course) and are kept up to date with the latest kpop, but they lacked some good 90s hip hop. Also, the mics aren’t wireless so it can be annoying having to climb over each other to get out of the booths if it’s your turn. I’ve the been here several times in multiple rooms, and the mics themselves have a lot of problems from feedback to the sound dropping out completely. The employees are all super friendly and have tried to fix the problem, but I think it’s time to replace the mic system. Overall, it’s a fun place to go with friends for some good(or terrible) singing time.

Chorus has wonderful staff. Amy is a great bartender, making tasty drinks and provided great customer service. We went on a Friday evening, right after work and it was completely dead. We were able to get a karaōke room right away. The karaōke system could be more user friendly and the selection of English songs was limited. Some songs were a little off with the words, going too fast or missing words. The food looked good but I didn’t have any. The bathroom was filthy. I was scared to use it, but after a few drinks I couldn’t hold it any longer and I had to break the seal! Even with these cons I recommend the place because it was a BLAST! I Love me some Karaōke!!!

Chorus is definitely a good time as long as you have a group of friends or family tagging along. I love the fact that your karaōke experience is a reservation in a private room. This ensures that when you make an ass out of yourself it’s done in the company of individuals who already know you, rather than doing so in front of a group of unfamiliar peeps as is customary in most karaōke venues. Chorus’ karaōke machine is loaded with tons of music favorites. I seemed fairly content with the offerings, but a few in our group were disappointed that some songs weren’t available. All in all, I think we were there for about 3 hours, and that time flew by in nothing flat. A really great time. So why the 3-star review? The food and drink selections were fairly average. We all shared a pitcher of the pomegranate soju and it wasn’t very good at all. Watered down. We ordered several appetizers that were also average and failed to even rank among some of the other Korean spots I’ve been to in San Diego. The service, however, was friendly and responsive. If I go again, I’ll likely avoid ordering food and just to to dinner afterwards. The other thing that surprised me was the room rate. Be sure to ask in advance how much the hourly room rate is. I didn’t mind paying the fee because we all had a great time, but it would have been nice for them to disclose that to me when I made the reservation over the phone. As a newbie, I was completely ignorant of the rate$. Overall, we had a nice time. It’s definitely a great ice breaker to lead into a fun evening.

We were long overdue for karaōke and we were long overdue specifically at this place. 4 years ago, a drunken group of us had just left downtown at 2:00 a.m. and tried to karaōke here, only to find they were closing shop. We had felt unfulfilled eversince. We had been talking about this for forever, and finally got around to it. We spontaneously came by after eating Ramen nearby, but only stayed for an hour. We got a pitcher of beer. Their beer selection was pretty good for a karaōke place. I think we got a pitcher of Racer 5IPA(or was it Sculpin?) and had a great time here!

A friend and I stumbled upon Chorus Karaōke on a random Monday off from work. It’s a lot more dive-bar ish than the pictures let on. There were kegs and trash cans filled with bottles all over the place. It looked like a frat house after a crazy rager. They have individual rooms for karaōke with a vast song book. Most of the songs are Korean, but they have tons of American music and all of the popular/recent stuff. The place was empty for a Monday afternoon and we had no trouble getting a karaōke room. They charged us $ 18 per hour. I might come back, but I also want to try Karaōke 101 given all the reviews.

I experienced bad bar service at this place. I did not rent out a karaōke room. This is not a review about their karaōke. The bartender was talking to her friends on one side of the bar. My boyfriend and I had to wave her down to get her attention. The only people at the bar were her friends and us so there was no way she could have missed us. I asked for a daiquiri and she had no idea what that was. I told her it is very similar to a whiskey sour but instead of whiskey there is rum. She still had no idea what to do. So I told her just put rum, lime, and simple syrup in a cup. She looked annoyed because I was telling her what to do. My boyfriend’s drink was terrible(he ordered an AMF). Once she finished with our orders she went back to her friends. And of course we had to wave her down several times to TRY to close our tab but… she didn’t even close our tab. Some other bartender serving the karaōke rooms came out and did it for her. She was obviously ignoring us. I will try this place another time for karaōke(unless that girl serves me) since there are a lot of good reviews about that. One shitty bartender doesn’t mean the entire place is bad.

My girlfriend and I ended up lap dancing my hot husband, flashing the employees including the manager at Manna’s, and spending $ 100 on tequila shots for three and a half people. These are only just a few highlights of this night. Let’s just say I haven’t YOLO’d this hard in a long time and I am pleased that I got to experience it at Chorus. With one small window on the door of your private room, it really brought back the hard memories of being trapped in Los Colinas. Despite the flashbacks and posttraumatic stress(see review on detention center), I was surrounded by attractive people, I got to engage in consensual sexual activities, I did not have to sneak my hooch, I didn’t have to pee in front of anyone, and I got to choose what played on the TV! My Friday night field trip here clearly exceeds my Friday field trip trip to the slammer. Oh, and that tambourine though!!!

Soju wanna be a rockstar? Chorus after Taegukgi for post-dinner festivities with more drinks and music. Maybe even some singing because it’s a celebration! Noraebang, literally song-room, is the Korean equivalent to Japanese karaōke-box, which are private rooms as opposed to the bar audience format. It’s mega-Asian style midi keyboard instrumentals and randomly cut scenes of Asians on the large screen TV along with the scrolling song lyrics. Not a big deal when you’re focused on the lyrics, since the TV actors kinda fade from your view. If you’re used to listening to the original artist soundtrack, then the music could be odd for some. Add several pitchers of beer and carafes of soju and enjoy yourself. No shenanigans with Doumi hostesses tonight since it’s not that kind of party this time. Just a legit bday party. We didn’t have a reservation, so lucky for us to rent the last available room. Bench seating and long tables were enough to accommodate our party of 8. No tambourines in the room, though :(The call button worked fine, which we used to order copious amount of adult beverages :) Service was prompt and glasses were never empty. No snacks ordered this evening since we ate plenty beforehand. I had to chuckle after reading older reviews with dated nods to fave classic tunes. Unfortunately, I don’t think the Chorus catalog has been refreshed much recently. At least not the English language set list. I can’t comment on the rest of the juke box, which could have plenty of today’s J-Pop or K-Pop hits. Don’t get me wrong, the roster is good, not great, with way more than an hour’s worth of decent American tunes available. You could be flipping through pages in vain to find a current year hit song. When I finally broke the seal, it gave me a chance to recon the rest of the Café. The central bar/lounge/restaurant area is spacious and the air is odor free. Subdued lighting and blacklight provides the vibe. I almost wanted to visit longer because the music was current and just as loud to cancel the sound from the private rooms. I also noticed their daily specials displayed near the bar. Tuesday all day Happy Hour sounds intriguing. The only other gripe I had with our private room is that the air conditioner didn’t kick in sooner or stay on for very long. After a few rounds of drinks and some spirited group singing, the room tends to warm up. If you’re having an intense set, and drunk, then you’ll probably perspire. I’m glad that room is ventilated and there’s no haze of nicotine smoke, but when my buddy decides to unleash his vile lower intestinal death cloud gas on an unsuspecting room, I blamed an innocent victim and wanted to exit the room Kool-aid man style. In hindsight, I should have stayed at the bar for a few minutes more until the air cleared.
