For full park details, read Gail P and Jeffrey T’s reviews below. Kiddo started playing soccer here on weekends with Albion Soccer Club of San Diego. Pros: Huge field, Albion keeps it well organized, on-time shifts of games. We have easy parking on the curb just above the part of the field where our game is. Great adjacent small park to keep our little guy busy during his brother’s game. Also, lots of great nearby eateries to grab lunch or dinner after games and practices. Cons: none so far!(We haven’t had any problems with homeless or dog poop.)

Homeless people sleeping, dog poop around edges of park. Very simple playground. See pic

Nice little park with some well manicured grass fields. Great spot for a pick up game, or in my case dinner. Yes, you heard right, dinner. My crew decided that we’d hit up the infamous Phil’s BBQ nearby, during primetime dining hours on a Saturday nigh, t and instead of waiting for an ungodly long time in line, we took our to-go orders here to chow down. I suggest this move in the summer when the days are longer, as there are plenty of picnic benches and tables hunker down at.

One of the most heavily utilized parks in the Ocean Beach area is not Dog Beach or even Robb Field, but the very busy Cleator Community Park. Once a raggedy corner full of weeds that you passed on your way to the freeway entrance, this 16 acre patch is now sports central! Soccer, adult baseball, Little League, Pee Wee Sports, the Pennisula YMCA-it’s all right here! Sandwiched into the corner of Nimitz Blvd., and Famosa Blvd., Cleator Park includes an indoor soccer field, Ball Parks, a multi-purpose sports field, public restrooms, picnic area and an adjoining playground-also known as the tot lot. In the summer time, the south end of Cleator Park becomes a staging area for the nearby YMCA –which uses the area and parking lots for participants to drop off and pick up their kids that have signed up to attend their summer camps. I took off 2 stars for the homeless that congregate here-while there is nothing wrong with that, I know that these home-challenged individuals can sometimes intimidate the teens that pass through the area on their way to Correia Junior High. When I used to take my son here to play, you could end up sharing one of the picnic tables with a smelly guy guzzling his lunch right next to you. Another blot: many inconsiderate dog-owners feel that it is a leash-free area, so you get some special surprises when you play on the grassy area’s or look up to notice an unleashed pit bull slobbering at your bare legs while you enjoy your roast beef sandwich! Still-a great place to recreate the kids, take a nice nature walk on the path that ends up at the Adventist Day Church parking lot, or just enjoy a nice day watching the kids(not yours-of course!) ditch school at Correia up there on the hillside!
