Reminds me of being in a bistro in France. Nice ambiance. Nice upgrade over the run of the mill café’s and coffee houses you normally find in San Diego. Friendly staff, the food is good and not overpriced

This place kind of goes unnoticed amongst other eateries in the complex. But surely be given the due attention it deserves. A cozy french café with a good breakfast and lunch menu. I ordered a ratatouille soup and lite on cheese chicken crêpe. Both dishes tasted very fresh and cooked to perfection. There desserts are equally delicious. Moreover the place is not expensive. It’s definitely on my «visit again» list now.

Cute little hole in the wall that was peaceful and offered good dessert and great cappuccino to match. Late on a Sunday night we were looking for one last escape before starting the work week– I call it the«world of employment». After searching we found this little wine bar/bistro which had a good selection of pastries most with berry topping, and several other small decadent bites. To complement the home made confections you can order a number of drinks including my favorite a warm and frothy caramel cappuccino. They also offer a spicy Mexican mocha which is rich and smooth. Great place for a nice bite, warm environment, and good coffee. Next time I might even try the wine at this wine bar!

Awesome eggs Benedict! I got the California and it came with delicious fruit and potatoes! I felt so comfy working on my website eating and drinking my delicious cappuccino! It’s so cute in this location:)

If you’re looking for a good brunch spot in UTC this is a diamond in the rough. From eggs Benedict to quiche made from scratch daily, their food is on point and they have quite a selection of food for such a small shop in a random CVS plaza. The place is a little small and sometimes stuffy inside but the patio is a great option when it’s sunny. If you’ve been to this parking lot you know it gets hectic during lunch and dinner times during the weekday so beware! Customer service is great, all very friendly! I forgot my wallet once since I went straight from the gym and they trusted me to go home and pay over the phone, all with a smile and great attitude. Overall, if you’re too lazy to drive out to La Jolla or Hillcrest/downtown for brunch, as I often am, this more than does the job!

This place started off great. My group and I aren’t familiar with restaurants in the Miramar area, so we found this place based on waffles and bottomless mimosas through Unilocal. As soon as you walk in, you’re presented with a case of beautiful desserts that we knew we couldn’t resist(we didn’t end up getting dessert because we didn’t want to support this business after our experience with brunch). I ordered a mimosa with pineapple juice instead of oj but our waiter brought it out with apple juice claiming that that is what I ordered. Not cool but I didn’t want to make a big deal so I kept it. The food was ok. You could tell the Belgian waffle was frozen, not freshly made. And everything was skimped on. One dish had 7 small pieces of side potatoes while another had a good side proportion. One of our orders never came out and all the waiter said was, I don’t know why. No apologies. We eventually got it and it wasn’t flavorful. She then came out with a to go order of a side of bread claiming we ordered it. When we payed for the bill, she said she gave us a «cheaper price» for the meal that never came but she didn’t. When we questioned her, she said she gave us a deal on one of the mimosas because it didn’t qualify for bottomless since the oj was substituted for a different juice. She never told us we couldn’t get the bottomless nor did she tell us she was going to charge us extra for it. Long story short, the blonde waitress with the accent offered horrible customer service and we all left not feeling right about the place! Not returning.

I love this place. I’ve been going since it was called st. Tropez and I loved it then. Delish coffees and pastries and also meals! Somewhat child friendly. I wouldn’t bring kids here unless they can be very well behaved. I brought my daughter with me to brunch one day and they do have a child friendly menu and a placemat to color, but the atmosphere is more for adults. Luckily my daughter was using her best manners that day so I had no worries. never had any problems with staff or an order. I love cocotte and I always look forward to my visits. My favorite thing to order is the lox plate with a mimosa for brunch.

I have been there many times, but with the new name –very cute– everything has more of a French flavor to me! I A very gracious spot to soak some sun rays and enjoy the marvels of life brunching with friends The pastries are deliciously decadent, the coffee is excellent and the service very attentive. This is a good spot to have a quiet breakfast in the calmest area of UTC. Decoration wise, nothing has much changed with the new name but cocotte sounds definitively more coquette:)

Have been a couple times in the evening for coffee, wine, or dessert. Each time Kenny was working the counter, very friendly and efficient in getting our orders prepared. Coffees, hot chocolates, wines, and desserts have all been great. Haven’t tried any of the entrees or other items, but will eventually. We never knew Cocotte existed and just happened upon the place by accident while searching for a late night cup of coffee after being denied by a local chain establishment. So glad that happened as we now have a new fave in the UTC area.

I’ve been here about 5 times for breakfast, each time unfortunately had«grace» as my server. She’s inattentive, condescending, rude. Kept giving this place chances because it is SO close from my house. But– I will never return ever again. Don’t go here for breakfast unless you want your day to start on the worst note.

Date of visit 11/11/2015 This place is a solid 3 for dinner. Now, I heard they have bottomless mimosas on the weekends, so I may have to drag Stacey and Jose back here to try them out — maybe breakfast will be better. After unsuccessfully trying to get a seat at Seasons 52, Stacey and I opted to go to Cocotte having had a great experience a couple of years ago. We were lucky enough to come in time for happy hour prices and opted to get a glass of the house red. Our waitress was the only person servicing the entire floor, so she was a little busy between cleaning and helping the other tables out. While we weren’t in a rush, we were also a bit hungry, which probably added to the anticipation. She was also a little cold to the both of us, but maybe she was just really busy. Our meal was served with complimentary bread and butter, which was just okay. It wasn’t terrible, but it also wasn’t memorable. I think serving it warm would bring it up a notch. Pesto with Spaghetini. The pasta was lacking pesto — the top part was nicely tossed, but the bottom was bare of any pesto. I did really like the toasted pine nuts and green beans, but the potatoes were a little overkill on the carbs. The overall dish was a bit on the dry side, but still tasty(you can’t really go wrong with basil and olive oil). Not sure I would rave about this being the best pesto dish in San Diego, but it was definitely edible. Since Stacey is gluten intolerant, she opted for a salad, but really liked that there were gluten free options for the crepes and quiches. Between the slow service and mediocre food, dinner is a solid 3. The restaurant lended itself to be much quieter that other choices, which can be nice if you’re trying to talk with your dining partner. The breakfast plates look really tasty and the pastries in the shelves look delicious, so I’ll update my review upon another visit. For now, this is not a bad choice if you’re in the area, but maybe try a different dish.

Delicious food, good coffee and pastry, wi-fi, non distracting jams. Parking readily available(although mid day lunch rush is tough). Prompt friendly service, no rushing you out the door. You can even place your order in advance and just pop in for pick up. Hidden gem!

I came here mainly for the Acai bowl and I gotta say, it was a-ok! I would definitely come here and get it again! I think however, that this place could use a little facelift. I found the interior crowded and a little awkward, even though no one was there when I went in. And the kitchen and the area behind the bar is kind of messy and chaotic looking, so it messes with the feel of the place. I think what is nice, is that they have an option for outdoor seating and their desserts look so very scrumptious! I will have to go back and try it and then re-review. But mainly upon first site, I’d think they’d want to remodel a little.

Great breakfast place. Convenient location. This place been here for a while but they changed the name; however, the menu and everything else stay the same. The service is kinda slow if be honest, but food is yummy and free WiFi)))

I ordered a breakfast sandwich(croissant) with no cheese. My order came out 23 minutes later with cheese. Slow service. Orange Juice was over-priced(it wasn’t even freshly squeezed). They have a lot of room for improvement.(Food, service). Interior is decent. Music is good. Clean. Great location for people who live in the UTC area.

The food is really good, and I love this spot. But the service. Argh. It’s very nice but extremely slow. Waitress kept forgetting what we’d asked for and we’d have to ask again. Sat with empty glasses forever while she chatted with a guy at the bar. This was the same the last time we went. I’d go again, but just don’t go in a rush, and prepare to be laid back about service or you’ll end up annoyed and unhappy!

Cocotte is my absolute favorite place for coffee and lunch in the area. Great service and great food! Couldn’t ask for anything better! Friendly staff, quick service. Perfect little sandwich/salad place. Although it would be nice if they had an option to do a combo with any quiche and any crepes. I’ve also been in the am for a coffee and pastry, but haven’t had the chance to try any of the breakfast. Maybe this weekend. The crêpe looks very good! I ordered the croissant French toast, the boyfriend ordered regular eggs, and my mom got Banana French toast and all of our food was good We had a super sweet waitress named Erika who was a gem. She came and checked on us throughout our meal and made the experience so great. I’ve seen some reviews that say they need to work out some kinks but I think they must have worked it all out because they were GREAT! This place is ADORABLE! The service was spectacular and the food was yummy in my tummy.

Decided to give this place a shot after seeing the two reviews and — it wasn’t that good. Nice ambiance, cozy, wine bar, outside patio — definitely filling a need in UTC. I also came here on a week night which was not very busy at all — three tables and some bar action. The waitress behind the bar was more interested in being ‘Chatty Cathy’ with her Russian friends at the bar. As a result, two tables walked out. Sad to see that, because that could have been two tips. But it’s also money that the restaurant lost. Ordered the Chicken and Mushroom crêpe — and it was really saucy. Like too much gravy which made it too rich. And I understand — ‘Gravy’ is such a misunderstood part of the Food Pyramid. It’s actually a ‘spice’ or ‘condiment’ — not a meal in itself. But I do have friends that would disagree and eat a whole bowl of gravy. They would like this place. Bad service, mediocre food — and this place truly has potential!!! Maybe they are better on weekends(?). I’m guessing that Friday’s and Saturday’s are their best nights, and you would have a much better experience than I did. This is really a two star rating — but I really can see and feel the potential of this place. Work on the food and service — and this place will be hot!

Good Coffee, decent paninis & mediocre pastries. i usually go there since it is walk able from my house. Seriously thinking about going again. Super arrogant owners and very biased towards certain people. There are lot of similar review about this place after ownership and name changed. however they are still under the older Unilocal page found here
